Chapter 43: Eunice
“The leader of Glyph has been trying to contact me,” Mitch said as we all huddled in the headquarters.
The three of us waited and listened to what our leader was about to say but I guess all of us knew what Mitch was going to say.
“They want a collaboration.”
Glyph is the second most powerful male gang. Next to Ventrex. I heard that Glyph lost five consecutive fights with Ventrex. As a matter of fact, no gang has ever won against Ventrex.
That’s how powerful and dangerous they are in the underground world.
So, I guess, Glyph was already running out of trump cards. Now, they’re trying to join with us.
Nanette shook her head. “I don’t like the feeling of this. If Glyph will collaborate with us, then I’m pretty sure Ventrex would bite SeQret’s bait.”
Mona glanced at me. “This is so twisted.”
Mitch sighed. I just shook my head.
TO be honest, I don’t want to get involved with another gang. I don’t want to collaborate because if we did, we’d only make other gangs think that they can join forces with us.
They can’t.
We don’t fight for violence.
Although, that would be too hard to believe.
Mitch’s burner phone chimed. It was a text message. She opened it and her jaw ticked as she read the body of the message. She showed her screen to us.
Glyph: Let us set a meeting. We need to beat the Ventrex.
My face contorted in disgust. These men…how dare they call themselves men? I don’t even get it.
“They’re disgusting…” Nanette said disapprovingly.
Mona just shook her head.
Mitch looked at all of us. I believe that she knows what the situation would be if we did and did not collaborate with them.
And I hate to think that I know she’s thinking of taking the bait.
Mona looked at me and I shrugged. We all understand the situation.
If we collaborate with them, other gangs would make their move in collaborating with us.
If we don’t collaborate with them and SeQret successfully joined forces with Ventrex, then there’s a big chance that they would beat us.
No, it is going to be a sure win for them.
And I don’t want that. I hate when evil people stay at the top. I hate when bad people win.
“Maybe we should do it,” I suggested.
Mitch raised her brow at me. Nanette and Mona just gawked at me.
I know they know why am saying this. I don’t need to elaborate the reason. We need this or we’ll get beaten.
They all sighed in defeat. They all realize the weight of t decision.
“Fine, let’s meet with them tomorrow. 7PM. Bring your disguises,” Mitch ordered and we all just nodded.

“How was your day?” Josiah asked me when we were cuddling on the bed.
We’re both watching an NBA game but I don’t even understand a thing. Sports is not really my thing.
“Good,” I replied as I inhaled his manly scent.
He chuckled and hugged me tighter. “I missed you the whole day,” he said.
I narrowed my eyes at him. I don’t know if I’d dig this side of Josiah. I find him cooler when he’s a little…domineering.
I have never imagined him being cutesy but I guess I need to get used to this for the rest of my life.
“Where have you been at lunch anyway? You said you were going somewhere with your friends…”
I froze and was taken aback. I didn’t think he’d ask about it.
“Ah…the mall. Nanette wanted to buy some lipsticks,” I lied.
He nodded, seemingly convinced at my excuse. I could not get even more relieved.
“Did you spend lunch with your friends?” I tried to divert the topic.
He nodded. “We also had some lunch with some hot girls from the cheerleading—”
I hit his chest really hard but instead of wincing in pain. He started laughing boisterously. He seemed so amused at what I did that he even ruffled my hair.
“I hate you!” I yelled at him.
He laughed so hard before pinching my cheek. “You’re so adorable, baby. Don’t you know how cute you are when you’re jealous?”
I gaped at him. “I’m not jealous!” I defended.
He nodded and looked at me mockingly. “Really? You almost broke my sternum with your hit, Eunice. If that isn’t jealousy then what is that?”
“Nothing!”
He raised his brow. “Oh, baby, you don’t get to deny it to me. It’s okay, anyway. In fact, I like you jealous. I like you feeling something for me. I like that you hate it when I am with other girls because that I feel for you, too.”
I stared at him.
He caressed my cheek. “I hate when you’re with another man. I hate it when someone else touches you. I get so jealous that sometimes I just want to slam all the boys’ faces on the floor so they won’t look at you.”
I bit my lip as I flushed. I can’t believe I am seeing this kind of Josiah, too. He’s too…sweet. It’s the exact opposite of his strong features.
“Be jealous, baby. Be selfish of me.”
I gulped and nodded. “Okay.”
He smiled and kissed me passionately on the lips.

“Are you ready?” Mitch asked as we placed our masks in place.
All of us are wearing our iconic black overalls as we walked towards an abandoned warehouse.
I looked around and wondered if this is Glyph’s hideout. If it is, then I must say how ridiculously obvious they could get.
The door opened showing a blonde man with a batman mask. He smiled at us as he welcomed us.
“I’m Thrasher,” he said with a smirk.
“We’re not asking,” Mona surely rolled her eyes as she uttered those words.
Thrasher laughed and just shrugged it off. He walked ahead of us towards a table that’s occupied by five more men. They all seemed serious as they saw us.
They all stood up.
“Nice to see you, Astra,” Black dragon said. I know because of his dragon tattoo on his left bicep.
Mitch nodded. “We can skip the introduction. We’re here to know your plan,” she said as she sat down on the far end of the table.
Black dragon smirked and handed Mitch the game plan. I narrowed my eyes as I saw how the plan involved guns, knives and bombs.
Mitch threw the paper on the table. “We’re not agreeing to using firearms.”
Black dragon raised his brow. “Then, can you suggest a better plan, Andromeda?” he asked.
Mitch nodded and began telling them about the real game plan.
