Chapter 39

Chapter 39
DAMIAN'S POV

I walked out of the underground torture room, Marcus following behind me.
The metallic scent of blood clung to me like a second skin, the memory of his screams and the fear in his eyes playing in my head in an endless loop.
"Boss, what should we do with the body?!" Marcus asked.
I paused, slowly taking off my blood stained gloves, I threw it at him, still lost in thoughts.
"Boss..." He called again, holding my gloves
I looked up, my eyes frigid. "Dump it somewhere” I ordered
“And the girls?”
My fists clenched when he mentioned them. “Bring them here within an hour “
.....
"Damian!" The instant I walked into the house, a pale faced Bianca rushed towards me.
"Why are you barefooted?" I asked in a soft tone, carefully assessing her.
She paused, her toes wriggling as some colour finally climbed to her face.
"Forget about me, what's going on... What happened to..."
"You don't have to worry about it." I brushed her off, heading towards the staircase.
I didn't know why but at the thought of her touching me, I felt irritation well up in me.
"Damian!" She gasped out but I ignored her, walking forward.
She gasped and rushed after me, just as she reached the staircase, she screamed out loud and crumpled to the floor.
My pupils constricted and I turned, rushing towards her.
"Bianca!" I took her into my arms, ignoring my strange feelings.
Her face was pale, eyes red and glossy with unshed tears.
"Damian..." She stammered out, "why are you treating me like this?, is it because of Brenda?... If you want I can..."
"Bianca!" I called out coldly, glaring at her.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she hiccuped. "It's all my fault for loving you so much, maybe I shouldn't have come back, I should have died.."
"Stop talking!" I growled at her, pulling her tightly into my embrace.
"Don't even talk about you dying!"
She whimpered in my arms, her body trembling.
Quickly,I climbed up the stairs, still carrying her in my arms.
"Bring back the doctor to come check on Miss Bianca, hurry up." I ordered one of my men who was standing nearby before striding into Bianca's room.
At first glance, I noticed the haphazard look of her room, my brows furrowed.
"Why's your room like this?, are the maids slacking off on their jobs?"
She pulled on my sleeves softly. "It's not them, I was the one who unknowingly made the mess, earlier today, you..." She paused, more tears brewed in her eyes.
I remembered what she was referring to.
Guilt overwhelmed me immediately. "I'm sorry Bianca, I was just worried about Brenda." I said.
Her lips were pulled into an unhappy frown. "Worried? Why should you be worried? I thought you said you don't feel anything for her?" She asked.
I looked away as a wave of frustration washed over me.
"Yes, I don't but have you forgotten that I bought her with my money, if anything happens to her then aren't I the one losing out?" I breathed out.
Biance bit her lips till it bruised, then she flashed me a small smile. "That's true."
I heaved a sigh as my eyes blurred.
Who was I deceiving about not having feelings for Brenda.
Yes, I had feelings for her but the problem was... I didn't know what exactly I was feeling.
Love?
Anger?
Possession?
Hatred?
But all I knew was that I wanted her and all she could give and I would never let any man have her.
.....
“My head hurts.” Bianca whined, clinging onto me.
We were both in her bedroom, the maids had just finished cleaning it up and the doctor who had been called back had attended to her leg.
“Hmm” I mumbled to myself, rubbing her hair softly.
Just then, my phone lit up with a soft ping, I lowered my head and glanced at the screen, it was a short message from Marcus.
“We've got them.”
I exhaled, straightening up immediately.
“Where are you going to?, who texted you, Brenda?” Bianca fired off immediately she saw me preparing to leave.
I paused. “No, important business.” I replied.
She bit her lips, eyes watering. “Will you see me after you are done?”
I thought briefly. “That depends.”
Then I walked out of the room, softly closing the door.
It took me a minute to arrive at the underground torture room, a place I had just left an hour ago.
“Marcus” I called out, my eyes trained on the two scared girls who were strapped to an iron chair.
He stepped forward and pulled off the blindfold on their eyes, then cruelly yanked off the cell tape that has been used to seal their mouth.
“Why did you kidnap us?”
“This is illegal.”
Both of them screamed, I could see the fear and panic in their eyes but it didn't deter me.
“Between the two of you, who brought up the idea?” I asked.
“What idea?” The one named Sasha asked dumbly, looking at her friend.
“Don't play dumb with me.” I scowled, pulling out my gun and releasing the safety.
The two girls turned pale. “We have no idea what you are saying, please let us go, we will stay far away from Brenda.” Loretta pleaded.
“Too late, you shouldn't have acted dumbly by sending someone to kill her.” I signaled to Toby who was excitedly standing nearby, waiting for his turn to shine.
“Boss.” He stumbled forward with a brown bag, he dropped it on the floor.
The harsh sound of metal clattering made the two frightened fools wince, they didn't need a prophet to tell them what was in that bag.
“Make it as painful as possible, continue till they admit what they have done.” I said coldly, walking out of the room.
“We didn't do anything so how are we going to admit to what we have no idea of!” I heard one of them scream but I ignored them.
30 minutes passed by quickly and a bloodied Toby walked out, he had a grim look on his face.
“What?” I raised my brows at him.
“They've broken down and passed out, but still insisted that they had nothing to do with it.” Marcus informed.
My brows furrowed in surprise. “Oh really?”
This was unexpected, if they had been the one to do it, then my men would have been able to get the truth from them but on the other hand, Benjamin had said he had done it because of them or maybe I heard wrong since he never repeated more it more than once even after I had tortured him.
“Let them go.” I finally decided.
“Okay boss.”
