Chapter 66 Our Puppy
Is he kissing her? Is he out of his mind? Or perhaps, the Moon Goddess couldn't bear to see her mate go insane, so she worked her magic to transform Damian back into a normal Alpha?
As these thoughts raced through Alicia's mind, Damian's hand slipped from his suit jacket and slid around her waist. His lips and palms were warm, yet Alicia felt no warmth or sweetness. Even under the influence of the mate bond, her body responded slightly to his touch and kisses, but her heart remained ice-cold and numb.
Alicia wanted to push the man kissing her away forcefully. However, his large hand wrapped around her waist like a snake, tightening its grip, as if trying to squeeze the life out of her. She opened her mouth and bit hard on Damian's lip, causing him to grunt in pain.
It wasn't until her mouth was tainted with the taste of blood and the strong scent of lavender that Damian released her. She immediately stepped back, retreating to the corner of the RV, putting a safe five-foot distance between herself and Damian.
Using his thumb to wipe the blood from his bitten lip, Damian suspected that this woman had just shifted and used her fangs to bite him. Yet, thinking about how he had misunderstood her, Damian suppressed his irritation and quipped, "You're the first woman to bite me while kissing. Why not try shifting and biting my neck? After I'm dead, you can let our puppy inherit the Moon Halo Pack."
Raising an eyebrow at Damian's mention of "our puppy," Alicia retorted, "No, it's my child, and you have no part in this. Need I remind you that about an hour ago, you gave up any claim to being this child's father when you doubted it in the first place?"
"I never said I would give up being this child's father," Damian mumbled, then licked the blood from his lip, a hint of regret appearing in his deep blue eyes. He turned away and retrieved an emergency medical kit from the bathroom. Applying ointment to his lip, he realized that he shouldn't have doubted the paternity of Alicia's child. Furthermore, he suspected that his kind and fool mate had been manipulated and schemed on by Martin.
He pulled out his phone and messaged Ellis, inquiring about Martin's current whereabouts. With no immediate response from Ellis, Damian realized it was already two in the morning. Most shifters would be asleep by now.
Alicia warily observed the bathroom door as Damian disappeared inside. She was afraid he might emerge with unexpected intentions. After what seemed like an eternity, and after perhaps passing ten streetlights, fatigue began to weigh on her, and her eyelids grew heavy. Despite her nerves being taut, she sat huddled in the corner, forcing her eyes to stay open in an awkward posture. Just when Alicia couldn't resist closing her eyes for a moment, the bathroom door creaked open.
Noticing Alicia's odd posture of widened eyes, Damian sighed, telling her, "I promised not to harm you until you hand over the ring. You can relax."
"Who knows if you'll suddenly get close again..." Alicia's sentence was cut short by a yawn.
Having yawned, Damian was already standing right in front of her. Damn, why was the space inside this RV so cramped?
Before Alicia could make a defensive move, Damian had wrapped his arms around her to pick her up in a bridal carry.
"What are you planning? Are you going to throw me out of the car?" Alicia exclaimed, instinctively gripping Damian's shoulders. “Put me down!” she shouted.
Suppressing the grating sound of her exclamation, Damian didn't answer her question. Instead, he flung her onto the bed.
His suit jacket fluttered open, revealing her flat belly, her perky breasts that had bounced twice, and the secret garden between her legs. Undeniably, his mate had a near-perfect figure. He remembered the bounce of her breasts and the exquisite sensation of her enveloping and drawing his length in with her pussy.
With half-closed eyes and clenched fists, Damian restrained the urge to push her down onto the bed and fuck her. Lying down beside her, he pulled a blanket over her enticing curves and said, "Before I've actually thrown you out for screaming. I advise you to close your eyes and sleep."
"What? No, I don't want to share a bed with you!" Alicia thought she had misheard, but Damian's arm was indeed pressed against her belly.
"Either sleep, or get up and continue our pointless quarrel. If you choose the latter, I might just toss you out the window," Damian warned, then reached out and turned off the lights in the room.
As the surroundings plunged into darkness, Alicia surrendered the struggle against sleep and thoughts, closing her eyes almost immediately.
Hearing the rhythmic sound of the woman's breathing in his arms, Damian opened his eyes and let out a soft sigh. He ran his fingers through her soft hair, whispering, "You silly thing, don't use that odor spray anymore. If I can't smell my favourite scent emanatingfrom you, next time I might not be able to control my anger and choose not to hurt you."
The mobile phone on the bedside table vibrated. Damian noticed it was a message from Ellis.
\[Ellis - Toby, big news. Martin's allied with Greenfield Pack.\]
