Chapter – 5

Third Person’s POV

Rajiv woke Vihaan in the morning. Opening his when Vihaan saw it was only 7 am, he looked at Rajiv irritatedly and grunted “ Have you clock fast-forwarded? It is just 7 am! Why are you waking me up so early?”

“ Sir, Trisha ma’am has gone jogging for a long time. She will come back soon.” - Rajiv replied. There was an urgency in his voice.

“So? What do you want me to do? To make breakfast for her like a loving husband?” - Vihaan asked with an unimpressed expression.

Rajiv wanted to hit Vihaan’s head. Controlling his annoyance, he reminded Vihaan about the wound on his leg. “ Sir, have you forgotten about your wound? The effect of pain killer and anaesthesia both must have gone by now. Are you still in pain? Do you want a painkiller or an anaesthetic?”

Vihaan then remembered the wound on his leg. When he tried to move his leg, he felt pain. He hissed in pain and cursed Trisha “ Uff! That idiotic woman! Mental! Arghhh!” Vihaan sat up and leaned against the headboard of the bed “ I think I need to take an anaesthetic. Painkillers only help to reduce the pain. What if that mental tries to check the wound or do something again, I will not be able to control my pain. You better give me an anaesthetic. I don’t trust that mental woman.”

Before Rajiv could reply to anything, Trisha's voice from the entrance of the room “ Who is the mental woman? Whom are you talking about?”

Both Rajiv and Vihaan looked at each other with aghast faces. Both of them were afraid of how much Trisha had heard.

When coming near them Trisha again only asked about the mental woman Vihaan was talking about, both of them assumed that Trisha might not have heard anything before that. So their fear subsides a little.

Instead of answering Trisha’s question, Vihaan replied with an attitude “ Why will I tell you? I can talk about anyone I want."

“ But I heard and I doubt that you were calling me mental. So I have every right to know if you were talking about me?” - Trisha stated.

“Right? Which right? Can I not talk in my own room freely? And why do you think I was calling you mental? Are you mental?” – Vihaan sneered.

Trisha frowned at Vihaan “ I believe that is you. I am asking because yesterday you called me that. Forget it! I have no interest in knowing your nonsense. How is your leg? Let me check the wound.”

“NOO!” - Both Rajiv and Vihaan shouted at the same time, which made Trisha suspicious.

“Why? Why did both of you react this way? Why can’t I check your wound?” Trisha asked while looking at Vihaan with squinted eyes.

Vihaan was thinking of what to say while Rajiv replied to Trisha “ sir doesn’t like women’s touch.”

Both Trisha and Vihaan looked at Rajiv with big eyes for different reasons. Rajiv started sweating. He was scared to look at Vihaan’s face.

“Are you gay? That is why you agreed to this contract marriage?”- Trisha asked with curiosity. Trisha had an idea that Vihaan could walk and he had some intention behind pretending to be a disabled person. So she didn’t have any intention to know why Vihaan agreed to this marriage. But she was curious to know why Vihaan agreed to this marriage since yesterday night she found out that Vihaan was really a disabled person.

Before Vihaan could reply Trisha again spoke “ You two look quite close. Are you two in a relationship?” Trisha was indicating Rajiv and Vihaan.

“ What?” “No!” - Both Rajiv and Vihaan yelled at the same time. Rajiv was going to open his mouth to say something but one glare from Vihaan made Rajiv quiet. Rajiv didn’t utter a single word anymore.

“ By the statement, I dislike women's touch Rajiv wanted to mean I don’t like any woman touching me. Only my wife will have the right to touch me.” - Vihaan stated.

“But I am your wife.” - Trisha answered back.

“Are you? Our marriage is contracted. Have you forgotten?” - Vihaan said with a stoic face.

Trisha looked at Vihaan as if she realized something;“ Do you also love someone?”

Vihaan didn’t reply, instead, he asked “ Why are you so interested in my life?”

“ Come on! We will be living the next two years of our life together. Shouldn't we know about each other’s life? We can live as friends, right? Friends?” - Trisha forwarded her hand with a hopeful and happy face.

Vihaan didn’t disappoint her. He accepted her hand and both of them shook hands with happy faces. Another person present in the room was happy seeing their action and the person was none other than Rajiv. A genuine smile spread across Rajiv's face looking at their entangled hands.

“ Now we are friends. So now tell me, why did you agree to this marriage? What benefit are you getting?” - Trisha asked immediately. She was very curious to know the answer.
