Chapter – 10

Third Person’s POV

Rajiv started narrating to Trisha almost everything he realized he could tell her. “Actually, Vihaan sir's mom first met Vihaan sir's father during college days. She fell in love with him. When they decided to get married, they found out their fathers were twins.”

“But how is that possible? If their father were twins how they didn’t know?” - Trisha asked with confusion.

“If you stay quiet and let him complete then you will know!” - Vihaan suggested with sarcasm.

Trisha didn’t say anything more but she made a face at Vihaan. Trisha looked back at Rajiv with interest to know the rest of the story. Before continuing, Rajiv looked at Vihaan and Vihaan gestured something to him through his eyes. In response, Rajiv gave him an assured look which meant he understood what to tell Trisha and what not.

Rajiv continued “Vihaan’s grandfathers were orphans. When they were toddlers, they got separated. Both of them got adopted by different families. They didn’t know about each other’s existence. So naturally, their children and families also didn’t know about them having a twin.”

“Ok, I understand that but it still doesn’t justify how Vihaan’s parents are not biologically related.” Trisha gave a doubtful look.

“Oh my god! Can’t you just keep quiet for a few minutes? After every sentence do you need to ask something? Stay quiet and let him finish, you will get all your answers.” - Vihaan said with an exaggerated sigh.

“Oh ho! Tell fast… Come to the climax fast. I cannot wait anymore.” - Trisha became impatient to know everything.

“You are an impatient person with a mental defect. When I directly tell you the main point you didn’t understand anything. And now when Rajiv is explaining everything slowly and clearly you are not patient enough to hear. What do you want?” - Vihaan asked with irritation.

“You shut up! You are not explaining anything. Just keep quiet and stop insulting me. Now I don’t have time to argue with you. I will deal with you later. First, let me hear everything, I will deal with you later.” Trisha looked back at Rajiv and ordered him to continue.

Without wasting another second Rajiv continued, because he didn’t want them to start arguing again “Vihaan sir’s parents were not biologically related because Vihaan sir's father is not the biological son of Mr Sharma, Vihaan sir’s maternal grandfather’s twin brother.”

“Wait! Sharma? But Vihaan, you are Kapoor, aren’t you?” - Trisha asked, looking at Vihaan.

Vihaan and Rajiv both sighed in frustration because of Trisha’s question. Again, Trisha spoke, interrupting Rajiv.

Vihaan answered Trisha’s doubt “YES, my surname is Kapoor. Because I use my mother’s surname. Before you again start your questions let me answer all your unasked questions, I assume you can ask. My mom did not use my father’s surname. My father’s surname is not Sharma but Dixit because my father uses his biological father’s surname. My grandma whom you met at the dining table; her ex-husband is my father’s biological father. Before my parents got married my father changed his surname. Though they didn't need to because they carried different families' surnames. Now don’t ask me why my both grandfathers' surnames are different.”

“Of course, because your grandfathers got adopted by different families.” - Trisha said in a duh tone.

Vihaan and Rajiv sighed in relief. They thought Trisha's curiosity had subsided and she would not ask anything. But their misconception broke the next second after hearing Trisha’s questions. “But why did your grandfather not come to our wedding ceremony? He is your maternal grandfather; he should have come.”

Rajiv and Vihaan both exchange a look. Rajiv started answering Trisha’s question “Actually Trisha ma’am, he is not- '' Vihaan interrupted Rajiv “Trisha, don’t tell anyone about your meeting with my grandfather. No one should know about it. Forget about him.”

Rajiv looked at Vihaan frowning. He didn’t understand why Vihaan didn’t explain everything clearly. But he was not able to ask anything because Trisha was also present there.

“Why? Why can’t I tell anyone? Is there any mystery about him?” - Trisha asked with interest.

“Because I am telling you not to tell anyone. Please, Trisha, listen to my request. ”- Vihaan said with a stoic face.

“Uff… now I am curious to know the reason. You have increased my curiosity. My questions have not finished yet and you have added another one. Please tell me…why?” - Trisha requested with pleading eyes.

“Rajiv…please take me out before I do something to this curious woman.”- Vihaan said with annoyance.

Vihaan gave an expression of annoyance but Rajiv knew very well he was not annoyed. He was just pretending to avoid Trisha’s questions. But he didn’t understand why Vihaan was hiding everything.

Trisha was about to say something but her phone buzzed making a beep sound indicating the arrival of a message. “Oh no! I have completely forgotten about Mohit. I had fixed a date with him. Look Vihaan, now I am going but you have to tell me about it tonight.”

Saying this Trisha left without waiting for Vihaan’s response.

Just when Trisha left the room Rajiv asked with curiosity “Why are you not telling her everything?”

“Please, now don’t start your questions. I am really frustrated.”  Saying this, Vihaan went to the balcony. Rajiv stood there alone with a confused expression.
