Chapter 16

Chapter 16
We arrived at his villa. I saw Savanna in the portico area. She looked at me with a sharp eye. I averted my gaze. Come to think of it, she's still Markus' wife. I know how angry she feels towards me. If that happened to me, if my husband brought home another woman, I'd be furious too. Even if they say that they are only married on paper. I might even pull her hair to get her out of our house.

I was quiet as Markus carried me. He wouldn't let me walk in. His anger from earlier still hadn't subsided. While we were in the car, his eyebrows crossed at each other. He didn't say a word, he just looked out the window. His fist resting on his thigh was clenched, a sign that he was holding back his anger.

So when he picked me up, I didn't protest. We only went to their Supremo's mansion for a short time, but so much happened. I don't know what will happen if I insist on not going with Markus. I can't imagine it. I'm scared of the ideas playing in my head. Everything is violent.

We arrived at a room. This was the room I used when I woke up. He laid me down on the bed. He turned and looked for something in the bathroom. I still don't speak. I feel like I've swallowed my own tongue. Maybe if I talk to him, he'll suddenly explode with anger. I think that if I just touch him, he'll immediately yell at me. He looks like a dragon that could breathe fire at any moment.

Markus came to me, carrying a medicine kit. He took a chair and placed it next to the bed. His face was still dark as he sat on the chair. He took out the cotton and alcohol. He grabbed my foot. And pulled it violently.

I immediately pulled it back because I was hurt by his sudden action, but he didn't let my foot go so he pulled it again.

"O-ouch..." I moaned. Is he going to break my leg?

He smirked at my reaction without humor in his face.

"Now you're in pain? When you were running around without shoes, you didn't even feel any pain," he said annoyingly.

He pressed the cotton swab he had soaked in alcohol against my scratches. I couldn't take it anymore. I tried to pull my foot out of his hand. I'll do it myself if he's this sadistic about treating someone with a wound.

"It-it hurts! I'll treat my scratches," I said.

He raised an eyebrow at me.

"It's your fault you have a wound, so bear the pain"

"What you're doing hurts me!" I shouted. He didn't stop rubbing the cotton wool on my foot. It was too much pressure.

"Tss...that's the price of your sin."

"What sin? I'm not guilty of anything," I said. I held both my feet and looked at the scratches to see if they were getting worse.

"Really? Did you have amnesia again and don't know what happened earlier? You escaped with my enemy! Fuck!" His clenched hand punched the headboard near me.

My eyes widened in shock. I could see his eyes burning with anger. A pang of fear welled up in my chest. Enemy? Is Reeve his enemy? But I don't know about that. All I wanted to do was leave the mansion. Escape all those vampires.

"You don't know how much I'm holding back my anger right now. I want to punish you. I want you to scream in pain. Begging me to stop. I want to torture you in so many ways until you learn to obey me," he gritted his teeth.

"What I hate most of all is not following my orders, you know that? You always disobey what I say!" he added.

I didn't look back to see what happened to the headboard he had punched. I heard the cracking sound coming from there. I knew he wasn't just an ordinary person. He is a vampire with a strength that is different from that of a normal person.

"You can't speak? Where is your courage now? Earlier you were like a tiger that wanted to claw."

Tears started to well up in my eyes. I noticed that these past few days I have been crying easily. I felt like I had no hope of escaping this place.

"Tsss...damn tears!" he shouted again. Frustated. He hit the headboard hard. He left in front of me and turned around. He was holding his waist. His shoulders were moving up and down. A sign of the inhale and exhale he was doing.

"You really know what to do to make me lose my anger...Fuck! It's unfair..." he whispered. I didn't even know if he was talking to me.

"I didn't know you and Reeve were enemies. I just found out his name today. He's the guy I hit with the pushcart the other day." I felt like I needed to explain to him to completely get rid of his anger.

He turned to me.

"Is that the guy you hit with the pushcart?" he asked again to confirm my explanation.

I nodded in response.

"Don't trust that fucker. You don't know him. And if you trust anyone here. It's only me, Celestine, no one else."

"How can I trust you? If you can't even explain to me what's bothering me? Especially why I'm here!" Tears started to fall from my eyes. I'm really confused. There are so many people who know me and I can't even remember a single one of them.

"There's time for you to know everything. Little by little, your memories will come back. If I tell you, there might be things you won't believe. So it's better for you to discover them yourself."

"How did you know I wouldn't believe you if you told me everything?"

"I know you, Celestine. More than you know yourself." He sounded very sure of what he said.

"Then at least explain to me why I can't trust Reeve." I really can't rest until I know who I can really trust now. Even this Markus. I'm having second thoughts.

"Reeve's clan and our clan are enemies. And to tell you this. Reeve is also a vampire. It's not obvious from his appearance, but he's a dangerous one," said Markus.

He sighed when he saw my feet again. He sat back down on the chair. He took out some cotton and alcohol. His aura was calmer than before. He took my foot and lightly dabbed the cotton. When I was flinching from pain, he blew it.

I silently watch him as he does so. I see the Markus I first met again. He is caring and doesn't allow me to be hurt.

"I'm sorry about earlier. I can't stay in a mansion full of vampires. I'm scared," I said in a weak voice.

"I know. That's why I quickly ended the conversation with Supremo. Next time. You will listen to everything I tell you. When I tell you not to leave. Don't leave."

I rolled my eyes at him. The tension in my chest had gone.

"I'm not a dog to be obedient to you"

"Yes, of course. You're a tiger, not a dog" he said grumpily.

"Markus-" I was cut off when he glared at me. He didn't like being called Markus because he said he wasn't Markus.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not Markus? Physically, yes, but not mentally. Do you understand?"

"You mean to say?" I pointed at him with a realization. They're not twins or anything.

"Yeah. We have a split personality disorder. You can tell the difference between us based on our eye color. Markus has blue eyes and I have red. My name is Marko. There, you won't be confused between the two of us anymore. If you make a mistake again, I don't know what to do with you."

Markus has split personality disorder! One of the things that has been bothering me has been clarified. But even though he has two personalities, they still have the same behavior. But Marko is the worst. He's shorter-tempered than Markus.

"I've finished treating your wound. I've also cleaned up the dirt. I'll go out first to tell them to prepare our food. You stay here, no more escaping" said Markus, Marko rather. His last words were emphasized. It seemed to imply that I might run away again.

I followed his gaze until he left the room. So, what am I going to do? I'm just here at his villa? How am I going to face his wife Savanna? What exactly does Markus have planned for me?

I turned to the headboard he had punched. It's obvious that his fist is buried there. There is a crack around and a hole. Markus looks very angry. Even though Markus was angry earlier, at least he didn't hurt me seriously.
