Chapter 15

Chapter 15
"You?!" I shouted loudly while pointing at him when I recognized who had bumped into me. He was the man I had hit with the pushcart the other day. Is he a vampire too? Why is he here? What is he doing in this place?

I looked at him carefully. He looked like a normal person. Except for his blonde hair. I didn't notice it when I first saw him because he was wearing a bonnet on his head. His skin was brown, and he was wearing ordinary clothes, a white t-shirt and jeans. He looked out of place with his appearance. Too simple for the grand occasion inside the mansion.

"Celestine, what are you doing here?" His surprised expression changed to curiosity.

"Long story. But I have to go." I didn't wait for him to help me stand up. I remembered that I was running away from Markus' men. If I stayed here for a few more minutes, they might catch up with me.

Even though my hip hurt, I tried to step away from the mansion, but before I could take two steps, the man I bumped into stopped me.

I looked at him annoyed. I didn't need chitchat to get to know him right now. My safety and my own life were more important.

"Gosh! Why are you stopping me? Are we close enough for you to touch me?" I hissed. I don't want him to touch me. I feel like it's not right.

"Whoa! Whoa! Calm down a little tigress. I have no intention of fighting you" he said, laughing. He even raised both hands in surrender. I noticed his black orb eyes. Maybe he's not a vampire.

Does he have time to laugh? Does he think this is just a joke? Doesn't he know that there are many vampires inside the mansion? A hungry vampires.

"I don't have time to joke with you right now. I'm sorry. I really need to go. You need to get out of here too. This place is too dangerous," I warned. I didn't elaborate on what I said. He might not believe me that there was a vampire inside if I told him.

"Sorry for being rude. If you need help, I'm willing to help you. I have a car outside. If you're in a hurry to leave, it might be better if you have a car so you can leave quickly," he explained. What he said made me think. I don't know if I should trust him. First, because his approach to me is different now. Compared to before, he was rude at the grocery store.

"Let's go?" he asked me in my silence.

I didn't think much longer. I agreed to his offer. You can leave faster if you have a car. I'll think about what to do next. My first priority would be to run away from Markus.

The man ran, so I followed him. My chest was pounding hard. Was I doing the right thing? Not far away, I saw a Bugatti Chiron pur sports. It's midnight blue. I've only seen cars like that in magazines. As far as I know, it's very expensive. Is he rich?

"Get in", the man said. I immediately got into the passenger seat. I put on my seatbelt. He started the engine. He looked at me and sighed.

I looked in his direction, he looked troubled.

"Why?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Your feet. Why aren't you wearing shoes? Where is it?"

Because of what he said, I looked at my feet. They were dirty and had scratches. I suddenly felt embarrassed. Aren't dirty feet allowed in his expensive car? I hid my foot in the hem of my gown.

"Sorry"

"Don't be. Don't misinterpret. I was more worried about your scratches than your dirty feet," he said.

"I left it in the comfort room. It's hard to run when I'm wearing that."

"I won't ask anymore. Let's deal with that when we leave-" he stopped speaking when he saw someone in front of his car.

I also looked in the direction his eyes were pointing. I was shocked to see who was standing there. The car's headlights illuminated him. His hands are in both pockets of his black pants.

It was Markus!

"What do you think you're doing, Celestine?" Markus asked me dangerously.

Even here in the car, I could hear his controlled anger. It's scary what he can do.

"Tss...you still haven't changed Marko" said the man next to me. I looked at him. Did he know Markus?

"W-we need to get out of here please" I stammered. I was getting nervous.

"I doubt if we can get out of here, especially since Marko is here"

What does he mean?

"Are you going to get out of there or am I going to pull you out of the car, Celestine?" My fear had already crept up to my bones because of the tone he used. There was no hint of him joking. He was dead serious. My thoughts were disoriented. I couldn't think straight. My brain was in a mess.

"M-mister, we need-" I screamed as the car shook violently. Markus hit the hood. The force of the impact crushed the front end. I didn't know if the car would still be able to drive. It was smoking.

"Fuck you, Marko!" my companion shouted. He got out of the car and went to Markus. I thought he was going to punch him, but the man just glared at Markus. What should I do? He got caught up in my mess.

"Do you think you can get Celestine away from me? Not on my watch, asshole" Markus said seriously.

"Can't you see? Celestine doesn't want you anymore! Wake up, Marko! You can't have her now!"

"Dare me"

"Let us go. I'll take care of her."

Markus smirked. Instead of answering the man he was talking to, he looked at me. Do they know each other?

"What? Are you going out there or not?" he asked me impatiently. I held on tightly to my seatbelt.

"You know, I don't have much patience, Celestine. Don't push my limit."

"Marko-"

"Don't interfere with this, Reeve. You know what I'm capable of. I'm not Markus, who is kind and patient. So when I get annoyed, not even the covenants and the Supremo can't stop me."

What is Markus talking about? Isn't he the Markus I know? But he looks like my boss. Are they twins? But I don't remember Markus leaving and Marko taking over.

"And one more thing, I still haven't forgotten what you did before. Thank Markus, I didn't kill you," he added to what he called Reeve.

I saw Reeve's fist clench.

"Celestine" Markus called me again.

I bit my lip to keep from crying as I slowly got out of the car. My head bowed as I went to Markus. Is there really no hope of me escaping him?

"Look what happened to your feet because of your stubbornness" he said to me angrily.

I pressed my two dirty feet together. My two hands were hidden behind my back. Still not looking at him. I flinched, stopping my scream as I realized Markus was carrying me. A strange feeling was rising inside me that I didn't want to name. I have to remind myself that he already has a wife.

"Marko, you know Celestine will be in trouble when you are with her. So let her go." Reeve interrupted as Markus turned away from his position.

"She would be in more trouble without me. Who are you to tell me what I should and shouldn't do? This is my last warning. I don't want to see your face hanging around Celestine. "

Markus walked towards the parking lot of the mansion. I didn't say a word as he carried me. I'm thinking about what he said earlier. What's really going on? Are there things I should know? No matter how hard I try, I can't remember anything. Have I forgotten something important?

"Next time, follow my orders. It will be good for you. You will be in danger if you disobey me."

"M-markus"

"I told you I'm not Markus!" he hissed.

"I'm confused" was all I could say. I wanted to ask him so many questions, but I didn't know where to start.

He sighed at what I said.

"Don't think about what's happening now. In time, you will know everything you need to know," he said. His tone suddenly changed. It became calm.

"When is that right time? When am I already dead?"

"Don't be ridiculous. You won't die" he said grumpily. We arrived at his car. He gently set me down on the back seat. He turned around to sit next to me.

"Let's go. Let's go back to the villa", he ordered the driver. The car started moving. I freely observed the mansion as we drove away from there. What did they talk about with the Supremo?
