Chapter 76 Sparing The Alpha
Chapter 76 Sparing The Alpha
Ethan
I didn't expect Kimberly to be here again, not with a bunch of wolves, but he came anyway.
He wants a fight, and he will get exactly that. I would also love to see what his wolves had gotten against the vampires whom I trained myself.
“Attack!” He roared at the wolves behind him, and like they had been waiting for the order, they lunged at the vampires, targeting me.
I didn't move an inch from where I stood, and I just watched the fight unfold.
Damien kept shifting backwards, avoiding the vampires and the werewolves, and that made me scoff.
I thought they came here to die together?
I turned my gaze back to my front, where the fight was still going on fiercely. One of the werewolves had been brought to the ground, left to breathe his last while shifting back into his human form.
Meanwhile, Maverick and Elaine stood quietly behind me, leaving the enforcers to handle this.
Seven wolves were nothing, and the enforcers were more than capable of handling them.
I heard bones cracking and turned to the side to see the alpha shifting into his large wolf form.
He lunged at me instantly, jumping to claw me, but I stopped him with a hand, throwing him off me with a kick.
He fell to the floor and rolled back up again. He bared his teeth, and I showed him my fangs with a growl.
I stretched my hand to the air, and Elaine, who had my sword, threw it to me. I caught the sword mid-air without even looking.
Alpha Kimberly jumped at me again, this time, aiming to rip my chest.
I jumped up, vanished from his sight, and reappeared at his back once again.
I kicked him off, pushing him to the floor as he slid down the ground with a low, painful growl.
I could feel the presence of another wolf behind me, and I turned around quickly. My gaze met with a grey wolf who was walking slowly toward me with a growl.
He jumped on all fours, trying to leap on me. I didn't move away from where I stood; all I did was raise my sword in the air, and the sword went straight into the wolf’s belly, the animal dropping to the ground.
Blood rushed out from his stomach as he slowly shifted back into human.
He gurgled and spilled blood from his mouth before he finally gave up the ghost.
When I turned my gaze to the rest that were fighting, all the wolves were down, and only the alpha was left.
I could see fear in his eyes. He came with a bunch of wolves to attack me, but they have all ended up now.
He didn't come closer to me, but I heard how loudly he was panting from the distance where he stood.
My gaze darted to Damien, who was also stepping backwards, afraid that I would appear behind him and drive my sword into him.
Elaine walked to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. She had stopped getting angry about our last conversation, or maybe she had just forgotten about it for the spur of the moment.
“Kill him, Ethan. He deserves to die,” she said.
She was right. Once I kill him here, the alpha will be gone, once and for all, and it will indicate a threat gone for the whole coven.
But no, he's Hazel's Dad, and I'm not killing him.
“No, just let him go,” I said to Elaine and turned.
My gaze landed on Damien as I wanted to make my way back into the house.
A part of him looked angry, while another part looked scared.
Perhaps he was angry that the Alpha's attack on me had not been successful. Or it could be because the alpha had run away without him.
I smirked and moved my gaze to watch the Alpha who was sprinting out of the compound, jumping outside the walls.
Damien also started walking, and he made sure to keep his gaze on us. “Extend my greetings to the president, Mr. Damien,” I said.
“And, remind him that my weapons are yet to arrive,” I added.
It's been three weeks since we discussed the weapons matter, but Smith had said it had been facing transportation problems since then. Maybe he just never sent them.
Damien clenched his jaw and just nodded like he was being forced to. My gaze darted to where his hand had been clutching for a while, and I chuckled slightly, seeing he had a gun tucked under his shirt.
“What's in that? Silver bullets?” I chuckled.
He looked startled and quickly got his hand off the gun, clearing his throat nervously.
I thought he'd say something, but he didn't say a word.
“You had better get going before we feed on your blood. You smell so human afterall,” I said with a smile.
That was a way to tell him how appealing his blood must taste in our mouth like a fucking smoothie when we drink him raw.
Damien turned around, but his gaze still darted to the back to look at me like he was watching out for his back.
After he was gone and entirely out of sight, I turned around and headed back into the house while the enforcers talked about the fight they just had.
“Maverick, you find more about this Hazel case,” I said. “I want to know the reason why the werewolves attacked us again,” I added.
He bowed and sprinted away while heading towards the gates to carry out the assignment.
I could hear Elaine sigh, but she said nothing. We were back in my study together, and not long after, a knock came on the door of my study.
“Come in,” Elaine said, and the door opened. Williams walked in and bowed his head.
“What's the problem?” I asked with a raised brow.
“Lord Marcus from the Eastern coven is here, my lord,” he said.
My gaze narrowed at the mention of Marcus. He hasn't visited here for years. Why now?
“What should we do? Let him in, or send him away?” Elaine asked, the look on her face turning to that look she always has on whenever we have emergencies.
We wouldn't be able to go with the latter because of diplomatic reasons. We might have been exercising power over the humans and werewolves, but with vampires, it's different.
They'd go to any length to ruin you because you can't threaten them with drinking and sucking their blood for pleasure.
“Let him in,” I said.
Williams bowed without hesitation and walked out to bring Marcus in.
Marcus was a lord only in his own household, and for years, he had always wanted to rule the coven. He believes I do not deserve to be the ruler, because I was too young, like he had always said, when in truth, he's just so greedy.
A few minutes later, Marcus walked into the study, a sinister smile on his face.
“Look at the handsome face we have here; lord Ethan,” he laughed.
Elaine stood quietly beside me, and I only stared at him with a blank face, waiting for him to be done with whatever he had to say.
