Chapter 28 MAKE ME PREGNANT
Chapter 28 MAKE ME PREGNANT
Atarah Klyte
FOR THE REST of the two days I stayed at the mansion, nothing much happened. Life remained painfully boring. If I wasn’t lying in bed, I was either scrolling through my phone, reading books, watching movies, taking care of Akeila, or finding random ways to entertain myself.
Mikee still hadn’t visited the house because she was busy with work. She was a veterinarian—a doctor for animals. Honestly, it didn’t suit her party-girl image at all. She looked like someone who spent her life clubbing and vacationing somewhere expensive, but surprisingly, she had a respectable career.
As for Ate Akisha, she mostly stayed at home resting. The mansion was huge enough for us to avoid each other, and that was exactly what I did. I stayed out of her way because I knew one wrong conversation could easily turn into another argument.
Charl, on the other hand, was busy managing their hotels and businesses here in the Philippines. Their family only came here for vacations anyway since they actually lived in Canada.
Dad was occupied with our businesses as usual. Our family owned Dela Veja Airlines, one of the local airlines in the country. We also had coffee and sugarcane plantations scattered across different provinces. Mommy stayed home more often these days and temporarily stopped going to the office, so she was usually the one keeping me company at the mansion.
And Rare?
Well… he hadn’t contacted me at all.
Not that I cared.
Today was my first day back at St. Calisha Hospital after two days of rest. Most of my wounds had already healed, though faint scars still lingered on my skin. The stitches on my chest, however, were still sensitive—the injury there had been the worst.
I stood in front of the mirror while carefully applying makeup. I used concealer to hide the bruises and marks left on my face, then added a few more cosmetics until I finally looked decent enough to return to work.
Once I was done, I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs.
It was already seven in the morning, and my duty started at seven-thirty.
The moment I stepped off the staircase, Ate Akisha greeted me with a warm smile. I immediately put on a poker face.
“Ath, eat breakfast first before you leave,” she said sweetly.
I appreciated the effort. I really did. But somehow, being difficult around her had already become a habit.
“Nah, I might get late. It’s already getting late anyway. Thanks though.” I forced a smile.
I did that on purpose.
“Ah… okay. Wait a second, I got something for you.”
One of my brows lifted suspiciously, but I nodded anyway.
“Fine. Hurry up.”
She quickly disappeared into the kitchen before returning with a paper bag in hand. Mommy followed behind her.
“Take this with you,” Ate Akisha said with a proud smile. “I cooked it myself.”
Mommy chuckled softly. “Your sister insisted on cooking for you.”
I blinked.
Well… that was unexpectedly sweet.
“Oh. Thanks. I appreciate it. Anyway, I gotta go.”
I kissed Mommy on the cheek first. I hesitated for a second before doing the same to Akisha, but when I finally did, her smile instantly widened.
“Manong Lando, drive carefully, okay?” Mommy reminded our driver. “Don’t go too fast.”
They still wouldn’t allow me to drive because of my injuries, so I was stuck being driven around for now.
“Yes, Ma’am,” Manong Lando replied politely.
I walked ahead toward the garage and climbed into the car myself instead of waiting for someone to open the door for me.
Please. I could do it on my own.
I wasn’t some spoiled brat.
The drive to St. Calisha only took around fifteen minutes since there wasn’t much traffic.
As soon as we arrived, I stepped out of the car and smiled at our driver.
“Kuya Lando, I’ll text you later, okay? Drive safely.”
He nodded before I finally entered the hospital.
The familiar scent of antiseptic immediately welcomed me.
Without wasting time, I headed straight to the nurse station where Ma’am Eazel, Nurse Mae, Razen, Aaron, Loven, and Carlos were gathered.
“Atarah!”
Nurse Mae squealed before practically throwing herself at me. The others quickly followed, hugging me one after another.
I laughed softly despite the sting in my chest.
“Careful! My stitches still hurt!”
“Sorry! How are you?” Nurse Mae asked while examining me worriedly.
“I’m fine. See? I can already work again.”
“God, life is so unfair,” Nurse Loven complained dramatically. “You literally got injured and you’re still beautiful.”
“Exactly,” Razen added. “She still looks flawless. I hope all.”
I rolled my eyes while laughing.
“You guys are crazy. Stop exaggerating just because you missed me.”
“We really did miss you!” Carlos grinned. “You should treat us to lunch later.”
“Fine. Since I’m generous today.”
Cheers erupted around me.
I honestly missed them too.
Then suddenly—
“Oh look, your Dr. Kristan is here!”
I turned toward the entrance just in time to see Kristan walking toward us.
“Good morning, everyone,” he greeted before his eyes landed on me. His smile instantly softened. “Especially to the beautiful woman standing in front of me.”
The nurses immediately started teasing.
Kristan handed me a bouquet of flowers.
“For you.”
The scent of fresh roses filled my senses as I accepted them.
“Stop flirting this early in the morning,” I muttered, though I couldn’t stop the small smile tugging at my lips.
“Harsh,” he laughed. “Come on. Let’s put your things in my office.”
He casually wrapped an arm around my shoulders, but I immediately hissed.
“Ow! Careful with my chest!”
His expression instantly shifted into concern.
“It still hurts?”
“The stitches might reopen if you crush me like that.”
He sighed. “I’ll check them later.”
“I’m fine.”
“I’ll still check.”
Typical Kristan.
