34- Nose pains

34- Nose pains
I kissed Rocío – I said, relentlessly taking until I emptied the last drop of wine from the glass.
And did you like it? – She asked with her wide eyes on me.
Well, at first it was strange, wow, I felt like my mouth was being devoured.
And did you kiss her again?
Yes.
And did you like it?
I never said I didn't like it.
So what did you feel?
Oh my God, yes! I loved it! I loved it! I felt like I was burning inside, like my whole body was on fire on her lips!
That's great, so it caused a fire; at least you’re not going to commit suicide for not having kissed her.
I love her lips, you know – I added, ignoring her mocking comment – they are incredibly soft, and her hands are delicate yet strong. I feel like she could squeeze me tightly and carry me to the washing machine – Alice smiled at me while taking a sip of her wine.
It was only fair and predictable that she would be strong.
But there's a problem – I added.
Didn't she sleep with you?
No, I mean that's probably going to happen later, I don't know – I replied, blushing – She was doing Perico in the terminal bathroom, you know? I realized why I have a friend at the university who usually smells that way, and she was blowing her nose, and I thought it was an allergy she had, but later when we kissed, I asked her and she confessed that she had done it. And it disappoints me a bit that she was in that condition for our first kiss – I explained.

I'm bothered by people who do drugs, why do they do that?
That's true. Well, I'm going to the bathroom - I added as I got up from the furniture.
Are you going to vomit the wine? - Alice asked, raising an eyebrow.
No, are you crazy? Alcohol is the elixir of life.
I'll be watching you.
That afternoon passed quietly; Alice showed me the drawings she was making for her design class, and I took the opportunity to read a bit since I had a statistics exam the following week. Alice's mother cooked deliciously. I was finishing my dinner when I received an incoming call from Pandora. I walked to the living room in search of a bit of privacy.
Hi - I answered excitedly.
Hi - she said cheerfully.
Where are you? - she asked.
I'm at Alice's house.
Can't you come over? - I curved my lips into a smile upon hearing her question. She wanted to see me, and it wasn't even Saturday yet!
Um... - I wasn't sure if we could go out at that hour - wait, okay?

"Alice," I whispered, peeking through the doorframe of her room. She looked up,
"Can you tell your parents to take us down to the center?"
"No way, they’ll never take us down, they just came up," she showed a slight disappointment at those words.
"Okay."
"Hello?"
"So, skinny," she muttered.
"Oh yes," I began cautiously, "No, really, I can't." I could feel the disappointment fluttering across my face.
"Why not?" she asked.
"Alice's parents came up, and they can't take us down, and the only way to go down is in her dad's truck."
"Alright," she replied, "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay," I said in a sweet tone.
"Goodbye."
"Goodbye, take care."
"Auuuu! SHE WANTS TO SEE ME! SHE WANTS TO SEE ME!" – I jumped, doing an energetic dance that I had just invented.

"That's it, you enchanted her with your kisses." Alice was watching me at the entrance of the dining room with a funny look. I stopped jumping.
"Well, do you want to play a board game? Can we have more wine?" I asked, smiling from ear to ear. With a glass of wine and feeling really happy, we went back to her room.
We played a memory game with little Mafer and had a bit more wine. I felt really disappointed that I hadn't been able to see her; I sent a text wishing her a good night and went to bed, remembering everything that had happened over the last few hours.
The next day, Alice's cat woke me up by walking over my feet. I picked her up and laid her on my chest, starting to pet her while I listened to her purring. I took my phone, and to my surprise, I had two voice messages. I called the voicemail and found out that I had received two messages in the early morning:
"Hey, I miss you, I'm home now. I can't sleep and my nose hurts. I miss your kisses." 12:04 AM
"Hey, my nose really hurts. I was calling to wish you a good night, talk later, bye." 3:05 AM
Oh my God! Rocío had felt bad again last night and had wanted me to be there to kiss her nose. I didn't know whether to worry about her or to be happy that she needed me. I called her, but she didn't pick up… she was probably still sleeping. Mia couldn't help but be fascinated by how Alice's cat was purring as it weaved between her knees like it was knitting a zigzag with its tail. She petted the cat and lay down on the bed. Mia hoped that the plans to meet that night were still on. Something inside her feared that Rocío might cancel suddenly; good things take less time to fall apart and more time to clean up the ruins. Mia was really excited; she felt like she was fifteen again and liked that Mexican boy she chatted with every night online, his name was Luis. Naturally, she discovered that Luis wasn't as handsome as he appeared in that photo of a tall, white guy with blue eyes and straight black hair. Her real Luis was a bit more “super cool,” without having much of that “Little Mermaid prince” look, as Mia used to call him. Eventually, she became disillusioned with Luis, traveled to the United States the following year, and there she met Alejandra. Alejandra would become Mia's first lesbian friend and later her first girlfriend. It was then that she discovered that she liked women and that she could never have a trusted lesbian friend until Alice came along.

You must have realized by now what she wants with you, whether it’s something serious or just casual sex.
It’s not that simple. It confuses me a lot; the fact that I like her so much doesn’t make me see everything clearly. That’s why I need you to stay alert tonight for any signs.
Ah, that, dear Mia, you just subtly asked me to keep an eye out to see if she goes off with some dressed-up hooker.
Exactly, my dear Alicia, you couldn’t be any smarter.
And what will you give me in return?
I’ll give you something; I’ll think of what it could be. Do you want something special?
To see Astrid.
Something I can give you…
A pack of Oreos; you can’t find them with this damn socialism.
Okay, I’ll try to get them.
That afternoon, after lunch, Alice and I started getting ready. It would be the first time Alice went out since she had moved to Mérida. I knew her well enough to understand that she was excited, even if she tried to hide it with her characteristic sarcasm. Alice was already dressed and had straightened her hair. She looked really sexy; her haircut looked cooler than usual with the straightened hair. She had short hair styled like Amelie, with a slightly messy touch at the ends that fell over her cheekbones, making her look like one of those models from Project Runway. She wore a black leather jacket, a sheer white blouse, black jeans, and high heels. I was indecisive between a short blue dress with a red rose pattern that flared down to my knees, or a short, fitted, sexy black dress. I tried on both dresses and couldn’t decide. In the end, I chose the black one, simply because Ro sent me a text voting for the final decision. Alicia also voted for the black dress; I respected the verdict without resistance. I put on makeup, straightened my hair, and styled it so much that I could barely feel my scalp. My hair was naturally straight and long.My hair reached a little above my waist and the ends were wavy at the end, it always cascaded in a very pretty way. That night I chose to wear it all straight from the roots to the ends, it looked very pretty. I bathed in perfume. Rocío had liked my perfume, I sprayed quite a bit on my hair with the hope that that night I could turn her into a stranger in my hair, a repeat offender against me. If everything went well I would spend the night with her. I was very nervous, and I assumed that if I kept looking at myself in the mirror I would never leave Alice's house.
