Chapter Seventeen
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Vincenzo POV
The woman beneath me moaned my name, her nails digging into my back as she arched against me,her fingers tangling in my hair as she arched against me. My room was thick with the scent of sweat and sex.
I turned her around my hands gripping the woman’s hips as she moved above me.
The dim light falling across the tangled sheets and her skin, cast shadows that had her skin looking like bronze.
Her breath was coming in sharp, desperate gasps. She was beautiful– there was no lie about that but she was nothing more than a distraction—a way to pass the time while I waited for Lorenzo to make his next move.
My mind was already half elsewhere, calculating, strategizing, when the door to my bedroom burst open.
I snapped my head up, and the woman gasped, trying to cover herself, but I was already moving my body tensing as a surge of anger ripped through me.
My head snapped toward the door, my wolf rising to the surface, ready to tear into whoever had the audacity to barge in unannounced.
“Who the fuck—” I began, my voice a low growl, but the words died in my throat when I saw Rose standing there,in the doorway, she was one of my second in commands her face was pale, her eyes wide with panic, chest heaving like she had run the entire length of Hell’s Pit to get here.
Her usually perfect hair was frazzled and that alone was enough to make me pause.
She knew better than to interrupt me.
If she was here, bursting into my room like this, then something had happened. Something big.
My patience was thin, but I forced myself to take a slow breath.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing ” I gritted and she sighed
“I’m sorry, Vincenzo,” she stammered, her voice trembling.
“I wouldn’t have come if it wasn’t urgent. "
“This better be good,” I said, my voice low and dangerous.
" Something’s happened with the prisoner in B block.”
The woman in my bed shifted uncomfortably, but I barely noticed,my focus was entirely on Rose now.
The prisoner in B block— was Lorenzo’s omega. My trump card.
If something had happened to her, my entire plan could unravel right before my very eyes and they would be nothing I could do about it.
“Get out,” I snapped at the woman in my bed, my tone leaving no room for argument.
She scrambled off me, grabbing her clothes and hurrying out of the room without a word. I didn’t bother to watch her go.
My mind was already racing, trying to anticipate what could have gone wrong.
“What happened?” I demanded, pulling on a pair of pants and striding toward Rose. She flinched under my gaze but held her ground.
“She shifted,” Rose said, her voice barely above a whisper.
“But it’s not like anything I've ever seen before You need to come see for yourself.”
“How long ago?” I demanded.
“Minutes,” she said.
“The guards heard her screaming, and when they went to check—well, you’ll see.”
I didn’t waste another second since I didn't need to be told twice. I grabbed a shirt and shrugged it on as I followed her out of the room, my mind racing.
The omega had been weak when I’d last seen her—scrawny, not totally malnourished, but barely hanging on to life as it was. I had fed her after all it wasn't wrong to keep my bargain but not enough to do much so if she’d shifted, it wouldn’t have been anything short of remarkable.
The halls of the compound were quiet as we made our way to B block.
" Where are the guards " I asked and she looked to me
" We sent most of them off, Valerie didn't want rumours spreading before I was sure of what you wanted " she mumbled
" Good" I replied as we walked past the guards stationed along the way, they nodded respectfully but I barely acknowledged them.
My thoughts were consumed by the omega. She was the key to everything—the leverage I needed to bring Lorenzo to his knees. If anything had happened to her…
" Alpha " Valerie muttered as we reached the heavy steel door of B block, and she keyed in the code to unlock it. The door swung open with a tired groan, revealing the dimly lit corridor beyond.
The air was thick with the scent of fear and power, it was a very strange combination that made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.
“She’s in the last cell,” Valerie said, leading me inside her voice barely audible over the sound of our footsteps echoing off the concrete walls.
" Anything else happened here" I asked and she shook her head
" She just stands in the corner growling at the door"
I could feel it before I even reached the cell—a raw, primal energy that pulsed through the air like a living thing.
It was both intoxicating and terrifying all at once, and my wolf stirred restlessly beneath my skin. I quickened my pace, my heart pounding in my chest as I approached the final cell.
When I reached the bars, I stopped dead in my tracks.
She was not the frail omega I’d captured weeks ago, she was a vision of power, her wolf form sleek and muscular, her fur a shimmering silver that seemed to glow in the dim light. But it wasn’t just her appearance that had thrown me for the loop it was the energy radiating from her that did it.
“What the hell…” I muttered, my voice trailing off as I stared at her in disbelief.
Valerie stepped up beside me, her arms crossed tightly over her chest
“She’s a purebred,” she said, her voice tinged with awe, the wolf seemed to hear us her ears prickling as she turned around to face us and I saw the star across her forehead.
“A dominant omega. I’ve never seen anything like it.” I muttered underneath my breath.
“Well, well,” I murmured, stepping closer to the cell.
“Looks like I just hit the jackpot.”
A purebred dominant omega.
The words echoed in my mind, sending a thrill of excitement through me.
They were rare—so rare in fact that most wolves went their entire lives without ever encountering one. And now, here she was, standing in my cell, her golden eyes locked on mine.
I couldn’t help but smile.
This changed everything. I was certain Lorenzo had no idea what she actually was if he did he would have fought me for her tooth and nail.
She wasn’t just leverage anymore—she was a weapon and more than that she was one that could tip the balance of power in my favor.
“Open the cell,” I said, my voice low
Valerie hesitated, her eyes darting nervously between me and the omega.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea? She’s… unpredictable.”
“Open it,” I repeated, leaving no room in my tone for argument.
With a reluctant nod, Valerie unlocked the cell and stepped aside. I pushed the door open and stepped inside, my eyes never leaving the omega.
She watched me warily, her body tensing as if she was ready to spring, but she didn’t attack.
Instead, she tilted her head slightly, as if studying me,and I let her
“You’re full of surprises, aren’t you?” I said, my voice soft .
“I knew you were special, but this… this is something else entirely.”
She let out a low growl, baring her teeth. It was a warning, but I didn’t back down. I took another step closer, my wolf rising to the surface, meeting her dominance with my own. The air between us crackled with tension
“You don’t have to be afraid of me,” I said, holding her gaze.
“I’m not your enemy. Not unless you make me one.”
For a moment, she didn’t move. Then, slowly, she shrunk herself back into the wall, her body still tense, she was not submitting but she was not going to fight back either.
I crouched down in front of her a smile forming over my lips.
“Good girl,” I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper.
“You and I are going to do great things together.”
She looked up at me, her golden eyes filled with a mixture of curiosity and defiance there was a fire in her, that I had seen before. I knew right then and there that she was going to be a force to be reckoned with, whoever had her could play their cards right and have an all powerful machine at their disposal.
I stood up, my mind already racing with possibilities
“Valerie,” I said, turning to face her.
" Get her some food and water. And find her something to wear. Keep her comfortable " I muttering walking out of the room.
“Shouldn't we keep her weak" she offered
" she’s unpredictable,”
“If she figures out how to control her power—”
“She won’t,” I cut in smoothly, stepping closer to the bars of the cell, watching as Arielle’s wolf tensed.
Not yet, at least.
Not before I figured out how to use her.
Valerie nodded, though I could see the uncertainty in her eyes, she didn’t understand why I was doing this that and the fact that she hated the girls guts but she didn’t need to.
I had a plan and that plan had just gotten bigger.
Lorenzo had already been desperate to get her back when she was just a regular omega.
But now?
Now, she was something more, almost a legend and she belonged to me.
I turned slightly, glancing at Valerie.
“Double the guards,” I ordered.
“No one goes near her unless I say so.” it would be hard to ignore the council when they found out about her but I would stall them as long as I could ..
Valerie nodded immediately, because whether she liked it or not, she was now the perfect bargaining chip.
Lorenzo would give me anything to get her back.
And if he didn’t?
Well.
Then I’d just have to find another use for my new pet.
