CHAPTER FOURTY EIGHT

LIAM POV.

"Gosh, I'm hungry," She mumbled as she slowly returned to the car. "My place is not far from here, I could cook something for you?" I offered.

She looked at me, not the normal hate glare, or the disgusted glare but a simple look. I couldn't help sighing in relief as it confirmed that indeed I got a last chance.

"It will take time, I'm hungry and I can't wait any more," She calmly explained. "Alright, then what about tomorrow, do you have class?" I inquired, her eyes closing for a bit.

"By morning, yes but then after that the lawyers are coming and I will need to be there," She politely explained.

"Does it have to be your place?" She asked, half of her body slowly tilting to me.

"Oh I forgot, you don't really like going there," I mumbled. "Not that, I'm offering my house, in exchange but you won't spend the night," She cut in..

"I have groceries, just come by noon," She added, arranging herself back. "Now please drive, I'm really hungry," She mumbled, which I did without thinking too much.

I couldn't help but smile all through while I drove. I had doubts about making this offer but I was glad I did.

Not only did I get to watch her eat, I get to watch her sleep while driving her back home and I get to carry her to bed, covering her up and giving her a gentle kiss before finally leaving the house.

It stayed in my head as I slowly entered the office. "One day, I gave you permission to leave your work for just one day and you take it to the next day," Kelvin scolded.

His hand squeezing the life out of my shoulders, freezing when he saw blood dripping.

"Did you get into a fight?" He asked, concerned as I blush him off. "Nope,I did it to myself," I happily informed.

"Because?" He asked. "It was an attempt to show my sincere approach to her," I explained.

"Ok, you are going mad, don't you think you should let her go, give her space," He advised.

"Why, I already got my chance with her?" I bragged, watching his mouth drop. "I'm also going to make dinner at her place today," I boasted a bit more.

"But I will be leaving here at noon," I announced. "Wait, hold up, do you forget that I have a wife and companies to run also, I have been going home late because of you and now that you have no secretary, I am tasked with a lot," He complained.

"Then hire someone, a male this time," I instructed. "But what if Chelsea finds him attractive?" He teased me.

"Do you want to continue doing all the work then?" I asked, teasing him back. "I will find someone unattractive," He mumbled, leaving the office.

CHELSEA POV.

"Chelsea," Emily gently tapped me. "You will be late for class at this point," She muttered as I immediately stood up. "How did you get in?" I asked her.

"You let me in, " She replied. "Emily," I called. "Fine, when I visited last, I saw the code combination," She admitted, a small laugh escaped my lips.

"And you were going to blame it on me, you naughty liar," I called out. "Well, it's not my fault, if Kelvin was home, I wouldn't be lonely," She complained.

"Since when have you been here?" I enquired. "Let's say, after he drops you off," She mumbled.

"Oh goodness," I muttered, her laughter feeling the air. "Now let's not be late for school, beside, don't forget, this weekend is family dinner and you are expected to come, dad will kill me if he doesn't see you there," She let out, all at once.

"School time," She shouted, rushing to the bathroom. She offered to drive, giving me the highlight of her life as she drove.

However, when she parked, the air suddenly became serious. "So this means we are cool right?" She asked, her voice so low, let it be cute.

"I'm not Kelvin, that tune will work on me," I teased. "But yes, you can say that," I replied.

"Kelvin has a different one you know, this one stopped working on him a long time ago," She said, opening the door and stepping out.

"Really, what work's now?" I asked, when she opened my door. "Why, do you have a man you want to use it for?" She asked back.

"Maybe in the future," I replied. "Then I saw you, when me and you are in a private setting," She whispered.

"It's not something naughty is it?" My curious self asked. "It's me and Kelvin, of course it's something naughty, even naughtier," She replied, laughing when I shook my head.

"Ok, I'm going to warn you," She began in another serious tone. "You know you are carrying Manchester next heir inside you right?" She questioned.

"Here you go again," I mumbled. "I'm serious, everyone already know how obsessed Liam is to you, in fact even his enemies won't think of using you as a bait,"

"Because they know how dangerous things would turn out, and now that everyone is aware that you are pregnant with his child, let's say, today school might be a little different," She explained.

"Why do they think I'm using the baby as a hold on him?" I asked. "Even if they think so, they can't voice it out, you know that right?" she asked.

"Then you are just overthinking things," I said. She smiled, slowly walking close to me, almost like she was seducing me.

"Let's see then, but don't say I didn't warn you," She whispered, winking at me when I looked at her.

I only shake my head some more when she lets go, walking hand to hand to the hall.

There was no one at the entrance and strangely she stopped exactly at the entrance. "Have fun," She teased again, before pulling me in.

When we entered, everyone minded their business and I was going to turn and boast about it.

However, it didn't last long and I soon understood what she was talking about.
