CHAPTER FOURTY TWO

LIAM POV

"She is late," I yelled in frustration. "At this rate, I doubt she would even come at this minute, that child is testing my patience," I complained.

"Relax, she would be here, you are aware of the distance, do you know if that is delaying her, besides she is pregnant, she might have slept over, just wait before you do anything rash Liam," Kelvin advised.

I couldn't understand why he was being so calm about everything, that also doesn't stop him from being right, I shouldn't do anything rash and just wait.

"Natalie, you said there was a meeting available for this time?" I asked. "Yes sir but I was just about to cancel it," She replied.

"Don't, if she get here halfway then I will cancel it, once she is here just tell me alright," I instructed, which she nodded to.

"Shouldn't you just be in your office or better still downstairs?" Kelvin asked. "You are asking me to be calm, working is the only way I can try to be calm," I explained, leaving him and following Natalie to the meeting room.

From time to time, I would check the time and signal Natalie to go check outside and each time, she would come shaking her head.

I actually had hope, seeing the receptionist whispering something into her ear. I thought it was a sign that Chelsea was outside and I was tempted to check, I had to hold myself, waiting for her to come back.

When a few minutes passed, it became suspicious that Natalie wasn't here. For someone who likes staying with me for every meeting, it was strange she was missing this one.

I decided to give her another five minutes before going out to check, maybe it was trouble that she was finding problems with settling.

"Liam," A hectic Kelvin burst into the meeting room. "Chelsea, she is," he pauses, trying to catch his breath. I didn't wait for him to finish his statement, I rushed off, running to my office in hope to meet her there.

He however, held my hand and dragged me toward the reception hall. The more we got close, the more I heard commotion and as I slowly reached, I realized Chelsea agonizing screamed more audibly, making me break into a run.

Rushing to her side, a phone being passed from someone to another, before the next person could take it, I seized it, having a view of what they were looking at.

"Who has this phone?" I asked. "Answer me?" I demanded with everyone pointing to Natalie.

"Another offense again," I mumbled slowly walking to her. "Sir, I was only punishing her for delaying you, she doesn't have the right, I was only making her know her place," She boldly explained.

"Who gave you the right?Out of everyone here, you of all people should know how important she is to me, so why?" I roared, trying so desperately not to choke her as I could kill her.

"No one," She mumbled. "You are fired Natalie, thank you for your service and friendly advice, don't step your feet in here again," I warned.

"You are letting me go because of a slut?" She asked, her words enraging me. I didn't know when I slapped her, not until she held her red cheeks tightly.

"I'm respecting the fact that you have work for me but don't cross your boundaries Natalie, now get out of the security drags you out," I threatened.

"Kelvin, check the cameras, anyone that has watched the videos should be fired," I instructed, my next attention being Chelsea.

Nothing was calming her down and I was left with no other options than to knock her out.

Slowly picking her up, I carried her back to my office and moved the rest of the meeting there.

"Reduce your voice, if you wake up prematurely because of you, then you are doomed," I warned, running my hands on her head as she slept.

How could I imagine myself concentrating when she was here, I found myself staring at her peaceful appearance, watching her cling to my hand as if she was a baby..

"What are you doing here?" Kelvin asked upon barging in. "Leave us," He ordered, locking the door when it was only the two of us.

"Be careful with the door, you could wake her," I complained. "In the first place, she is supposed to be at the hospital, have you forgotten that she had one of her mental breakdown and you should know it's not only her now,"

"There is a child in her, how many times do I have to you, do you not stop to think whether it was harmful in the first place," he asked.

"You already ignored my first advice by going to the meeting, because I clearly remember telling you to wait at your office," He scolded.

"I will clear my office and prepare to leave now," I mumbled, surprised that I was letting him scold me.

"Once again you two have given me another job as I need to start hiring new staff as well as clearing the mess before it reaches outside," He complains, banging the door as he leaves.

This promptly woke Chelsea up, her face frowning when she realized the situation. "What did I say about you touching me," She frowns more, standing up.

"Chelsea I'm sorry," I apologize. "For?" She asked. "You receive another humiliation because of my past action to you," I explained.

"I doubt you mean it Liam, so where is she, did you suspend her or maybe you only made her skip work today," She mock. "I fired her," I informed, her body freezes for a while.

Slowly grin played on her lips but soon her face turned pale, her hand slowly gripping her belly.

She stumbled to me, gripping my hands really tight. "Chelsea, are you alright?" I asked.

"I don't know, it's hurt like hell, it was hurting before I passed out and now it's back," She groans.

"What's hurting?" I asked. "My stomach Liam, more precisely the place your child is growing in, the whole place hurts, can't you tell already," She snapped.

Grabbing my things, I immediately pick her up, rushing down to the parking lot, there was no way we were going lose the child, there was no way I'm losing my only grip on her.
