BELLA.
As soon as I said those words, everyone's heads turned back in my direction and looked at me with their hawk eyes. They were piercing my existence with their hateful glances.
"Isn't she the rumored ex-wife of Mr Caspar Mcadam? The one who attempted to kill him!"
"Oh my God, and still she had the face to show up at her ex-husband's wedding. Such audacity, she must be here to cause a scene and ruin the ceremony," other guests murmured among themselves while casting a serious look at me.
I could hear them all, but none of their comments pained me as much as Caspar's mocking smile did. To make it worse, he holds her hand and walks towards the altar.
I felt awkward, standing in the middle of rows, gathering hateful looks from everyone present in the wedding ballroom. Vincent, who was standing behind me, leaned close and asked in a low whisper, "Miss, do you want me to bring you out?"
"No. I want to see how he gets married to another woman when I'm here," I scoffed as I kept staring at Caspar and Nancy, being so in love together. "I want to see him walk on me, break my heart and give his love to her. That way I'll be heartbroken and it will be easy to get over with him. After all, hatred can make me forget his love."
"I understand," Vincent nodded and straightened up.
I stepped forward, close to the altar and watched them closely when suddenly someone pulled me back by grabbing my wrist. Vincent tried to get me free but was stopped by that man's bodyguards.
I turned back to look at the fool who dared to stop me. He was no other than Erick, my ex-brother-in-law.
"Where do you think you're going, Miss Bella?" Erick called me formally, emphasizing the fact that he no longer sees me as a family. "Stop before I call the cops."
"Erick, do not interfere between me and Caspar. I need to talk to him and explain everything I–"
"Damn, you are still thinking that we want your fucking explanation?" Erick taunted, stopping me in my mid-sentence. "Where were you when the cops were looking for you? Why didn't you surrender yourself and reveal the truth behind your shameful assassination attack on my brother?"
"Even my parents who cared for you waited for you but you never appeared or tried to contact us."
"I-I'm sorry for everything… I know I was wrong," I begged, my voice shaking in embarrassment. I could truly feel how intense hatred Erick and my ex-parents-in-law would be feeling right now. I was shamelessly standing in front of them, attempting to ruin Caspar's wedding.
'I'm pathetic,' I began guilt-tripping myself until I heard the pope asking Caspar to kiss Nancy and seal the marriage vows.
I tried to walk towards them but Erick stopped me. "Stop it already, I don't want to be disrespectful and kick you out of here."
"Erick, please. You know how much I love him, how could you stop me?" Pathetic, dumb. I can't believe I was emotionally blaming him.
In response, he laughed at me as if he was about to lose his mind and shower me with his wrath. Tightening the grip on my wrist he cursed, "I know very well how you took advantage of my brother by gaslighting him with your unfaithful love. I was never okay with my father's decision to force my brother to marry a shameless, unworthy woman like you!"
I stopped resisting and looked at Erick in a dilemma. I never imagined that the sweetest guy in the whole Mcadam family would have such thoughts on my personality. I really judged him on the basis of his fake attitude. This was his real face which he was revealing right now.
"Young Master Erick Mcadam, let go of Miss Bella's hand," Vincent warned as he punched the bodyguards down, disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the wedding ballroom.
Caspar stopped and turned back, glancing at me eyes full of love and hate. "If you can't enjoy the fluttering wedding of mine, then take your body out of here. Also, tell your dog to be respectful toward my brother and my men."
"I'll not tolerate any disrespect against them."
He was threatening me with his killer eyes and I could not help but feel scared. Even so, I didn't let him realize my fear, maintaining an indifferent face. I glared back at him, staring deep into his dangerously beautiful hazel eyes.
Mustering up my courage, I replied, "Caspar, why are you doing this to me? Can't you give me a moment of yours to clear the misunderstanding we have?"
"I don't want us to suffer like–"
"Suffer?" Caspar laughed at my words. "Bella, nobody. I repeat nobody has made me suffer as much as you and your father have. And now you're preaching to clear the misunderstanding?"
"I prefer to have the misunderstanding between us rather than understanding your twisted feelings."
I was hurt, my last string of trust in him was snapping thin. At that moment, my consciousness said I should leave and live my life with my daughter and brother. I should let Caspar find his happiness with his new partner.
And I swear I was going to do it when Nancy stepped forward and pointed at me, scolded, "Miss Bella, don't you have any shame? How could you start drama on my special day?"
"Do not forget what you did with my Caspar. You should get out of the wedding ballroom if you have even a bit of shame left."
'Woah, now even she has the audacity to scold me?' I talked with my eyes to Caspar, prompting him to see what I had become in everyone's eyes.
Nancy didn't stop here, she brought my past in front of everyone. The ballroom once again filled with guests murmuring and gossiping about me.
"So shameless of her! I have never seen such a jealous woman before."
"She should just let her ex-husband have a happy wedding. Why bother him with lies? The playgirl is she, I'm sure she has even slept with her butler who's standing behind her."
All sorts of dirty rumors spread across the room and I just looked at Caspar. Managing a painful smile on my lips I scoffed," Are you happy now? Your new wife has successfully humiliated me and tomorrow's headlines in the media will be about how pathetic of a person I am!"
"I do not understand what you are saying. Just leave, I'm losing my patience."
Caspar outrageously denied me and I could no longer feel like myself. I started feeling empty again, my heart was restless and I wanted to do something. Something that would be as outrageous as his cruel words.
He looked at the bodyguards and ordered, "Are you guys fucking deaf? Didn't you hear me now? Show this woman and her butler out of my mansion."
The bodyguards quickly grabbed my arms and Vincent's, dragging me back. They chuckled, "I never thought that there would be a day when I'll have the chance to humiliate the overprivileged daughter of chairman Austin Dior."
"Oh wow, look at this woman. She has no self-respect and dignity. Shouting at her ex-husband, and cursing at his new wife!"
Everyone was laughing, looking down on me but Caspar remained unmoved. He has changed, the man I knew would have never let me get insulted by others. He would burn the world for me, not like him. Just stand there and watch me grovel at his feet for forgiveness.
Managing a wry smile I declared to myself, "Very well. I shall show you the flirt I'm. I was known as the charming seductress of high society, no man rejected my touch."
'I will show you today why I was famous among men before marriage, you dare to humiliate me? I'll humiliate you and make you helpless for me,' I repeated under my breath as I jerked off the bodyguards' grasp on my arms.
Running towards the altar, I pulled Caspar away from Nancy, interrupting his kiss with her and wrapped my arms around his broad shoulders.
"What the fuck are you–"
Before he could curse me, I locked my lips with his. Moving one hand around the back of his neck, I pulled myself close to him, almost rubbing my chest against his. I could imagine the shock he must be going through and the big gasp leaving the guests' mouths.
To make them even more baffled, I began kissing him passionately and intensely, as if we were in the bedroom and making out. I ran my fingers through his hair, and moaned between my kisses, "Caspar…"
And pulled myself away from him right after, leaving him needy and confused. Waving my hand at him dramatically I wished,"Happy wedding, my dear ex-husband. I hope you make hot love with your new wife."
"Vincent let's go," I said and exited the room without caring about the guests or anyone's reactions. I give no damn to anyone except Caspar.
Upon arriving in the parking lot, Vincent opened the car's door for me to get inside. Before stepping inside, I looked around, my eyes searching for Caspar and my face flushed red. There, he was hurrying in my direction with a dead smile plastered on his face.
"Vincent, I'll be back shortly."
Closing the door I said to Vincent and stood there like a doll for Caspar. He arrived at where I was, clutched my wrist in his and dragged me into the corridor of the parking lot. Slamming me against the wall, he growled, "Bella."
"Y-Yes, Caspar," I quivered, cupping his face but he removed my hands from his face and pinning my wrists against the wall, he started kissing underneath my neck and on my cleavage.
"You… Bella, you have corrupted my mind, heart, and my soul. I can't stay a second without thinking about you. Why are you doing this to me? Why are they ruining my life?" He groaned in pain and pleasure as he choked my face in his other hand.
