Chapter 86 Wedding

Chapter 86 Wedding

Evelyn sat on the edge of the bed, her arms crossed and a pout on her face. The house was alive with the sounds of laughter, chatter, and the occasional clinking of dishes.

Everyone was bustling around, preparing for Kylie’s wedding, and the excitement was infectious. She could hear her sister’s laughter mixed with the enthusiastic voices of her family and friends, creating a symphony of joy that filled the house.

“Evelyn, I told you to stay put!”

Her mother’s voice called from the hallway, and Evelyn sighed.

She glanced around her bedroom, feeling a pang of frustration. She wanted nothing more than to be in the thick of the preparations, helping with the decorations, the wedding dress, and all the little details that made a wedding special. But her mother had insisted she rest and avoid any strenuous activities.

“This is so unfair,”

Evelyn muttered to herself.

Just then, the door creaked open, and her father peeked in, a warm smile spreading across his face when he saw her.

“How’s my little girl doing?”

Evelyn’s annoyance melted away at the sight of her father.

“I’m fine, Dad. Just feeling a bit useless sitting here.”

He stepped into the room and sat beside her on the bed.

“Your mother’s just worried about you and the babies. She wants to make sure you’re three safe and healthy.”

“I know, but I want to help, Dad. It’s Kylie’s wedding. I should be out there, not stuck in here.”

He chuckled softly.

“You know, sometimes the best help you can give is taking care of yourself. But I get it. It’s hard to sit still when everyone else is so busy.”

Evelyn smiled, feeling a bit better.

“Thanks, Dad. I just hate feeling like I’m not contributing.”

He squeezed her hand.

“You’ve already contributed more than you know. Just being here means a lot to Kylie and the rest of us.”

As they talked, Evelyn heard familiar voices approaching. Sia and Jack entered the room, greeted with warm hugs and smiles from Evelyn’s family. Sia’s eyes lit up when she saw Evelyn.

“There you are! We’ve been looking for you.”

Jack grinned.

“Yeah, we wanted to show you some of the decorations we’ve been working on. They’re coming along great!”

Evelyn felt a rush of gratitude for her friends.

“I wish I could help.”

Sia sat down on the other side of her.

“You are helping, Evelyn. Just being here and sharing in this moment with us is more than enough.”

Jack nodded in agreement.

“And besides, you get to be the queen today. Enjoy it!”

Evelyn laughed, her frustration fading away. She looked at her father, feeling a surge of love and happiness.

“I’m really glad to be back, Dad. I missed this.”

Her father’s eyes twinkled with pride.

“We missed you too, Evelyn. It’s good to have you home.”

She noticed her father being hesitant and finally asked him.

“What’s going on, Dad?”

He took a deep breath, his expression softening.

“I contacted Eloise a few days ago. She contacted Dominic.”

Evelyn felt her heart skip a beat.

“What did she say?”

“She didn’t tell him you’re pregnant,”

he reassured her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.

“She only reached out to see how he was doing and if he knew where you were.”

A sigh of relief escaped Evelyn’s lips.

“Thank God. I’m not ready for him to know yet.”

Her father nodded.

“I know this has been difficult for you, Evelyn. But we’re all here to support you. That’s what matters most right now.”

Evelyn looked down at her hands, her mind racing.

“I’ve been thinking, Dad. I felt really good in London. Maybe I should go back.”

Her father’s expression hardened slightly, a mix of concern and firmness.

“You’re not going anywhere now, Evelyn.”

She looked up, surprised by the finality in his voice.

“But Dad, I—”

He shook his head, cutting her off gently but firmly.

“You need to be here with your family. We need to make sure you and the baby are safe and well. This is where you belong right now.”

Evelyn’s shoulders slumped slightly, understanding the weight of his words. She knew her father was right, even if it wasn’t what she wanted to hear.

“I just… I don’t want to feel like a burden.”

“You’re not a burden,”

he said softly, his eyes filled with love and determination.

“You’re my daughter, and we’re going to get through this together. But for now, you need to stay here. That’s final.”

Evelyn nodded, accepting his decision.

“Okay, Dad. I’ll stay.”

He smiled, squeezing her hand reassuringly.

“Good. Now, let’s focus on making Kylie’s wedding perfect. I can’t wait for her to finally be happy in her own life “

“ i wish she wont face a marriage like mine “

Evelyn sighed and those words hit her father like a sharp pain and he looked at her. His eyes numbing with water and Evelyn looked at him before smiling widely.

“ you guys are enough for me “

“ what’s what I realized in this long journey “
