Chapter 121 Contracted Matriage

Chapter 121 Contracted Matriage
Two days passed since that day.
Ricardo trained me constantly during those two days.
And today, after three consecutive hours of training, I finally hit the center of the shooting board.
“Yaay. Great,” Ricardo said in excitment. “You learn fast.”

Me and my three foster brothers somehow found a middle ground to get along. Especially after Ricardo told me everything that happened during the meeting with the Cosa Nostra families.
But that also, only fueled my desire to leave this country even more.
On top of that, Luca was planning to announce Angelo as his heir.
If I was honest with myself, there was nothing I could do to completely stop him. But I would still do whatever I could.
My eyes shone proudly as I shot the last bullet at the board.
BANG.
“Great. You learn fast.”
The sound of clapping behind Ricardo and me made us both turn, only to meet Luca’s smirk.
I hadn’t seen him since that day.
My eyes widened, then I smiled widely the moment I saw Angelo beside him.
“Mommy!” he exclaimed happily and ran toward me. “Uncle Luca said you’re here training to kick the bad guys’ asses.”
“Hey! Watch your mouth,” I scolded him instantly, then glared at Luca—who was smirking like an overgrown child—with resentment.
“Little man,” Ricardo said. “Come. Let me show you around.”
This was Ricardo’s villa. He had bought it recently.
Angelo nodded excitedly and followed him outside without hesitation.
The moment they left the shooting room, I crossed my arms and turned to Luca.
“What?” I asked coldly. “Why did you bring Angelo here?”
“Didn’t you miss your son?” he asked calmly.
But he knew very well that I already understood his real goal.
I took one slow step closer. “If you think about using my son against me, I’ll eat you alive, Luca.”
My voice remained calm, but the determination in it was unmistakable.
His lips curved slightly as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.
“He’s my son too,” he said quietly. “I would never hurt him. He’s my heir, and I need to prepare him.”

Angelo’s laughter echoed from outside through the open doors, mixing with Ricardo’s deeper voice.
My chest tightened painfully.

Luca’s eyes shifted toward the backyard for a brief second, and for the first time since I entered this villa, his expression softened. Truly softened.

I looked into his eyes but said nothing.
I already knew nothing would stop him once he decided something.

I swallowed hard but forced my face to remain cold.
“That doesn’t give you the right to force your way into our lives.”

His eyes slowly returned to mine. “I’m already in your lives, Mila,” he said calmly. “Whether you want it or not.”

“Okay,” I finally said. “Is there anything else now? Can I go see my son?”

He pulled my phone out of his pocket and handed it to me.
“You can keep your phone,” he said casually. “But I warn you, Kitten…” He gently held my chin. “One wrong move, and you’ll never see freedom again.”
I pulled my face away from his hand.
“I’m not going to take Angelo away from you,” he continued calmly. “I know how much he loves you. I just want him to become my legal heir.”
I froze.
“What is that supposed to mean?” I asked, panic slipping into my voice.
“I’ll register him under my name, Mila.”
“But that still won’t make him your legal heir,” I snapped instantly. “He’ll remain your illegitimate son.”
He exhaled sharply, visibly irritated by the sentence.
“That’s why I’m asking you this carefully,” he said.
My heart dropped.
“Let’s sign a marriage certificate. Just for three months. Then you’ll be free to leave and marry whoever you want.”
For a second, I genuinely stared at him in shock.
He seriously believed I would fall for this manipulation?
He wanted to erase everything he had done by dragging me to this marriage.
But I knew better.
In our world, divorce was almost forbidden. Once I signed those papers, walking away would never be that simple.
“Luca Hayden,” I hissed, “there’s a line between us that I will never cross.”
Before I could turn away, he grabbed my wrist.
“Don’t force me to use methods I don’t want to use on you.”
“Do whatever you want,” I snapped, yanking my wrist away from his grip. “But I’m not signing anything with you.”
His eyes darkened for a brief second.
“I’ll give you time to think,” he said calmly. “That marriage would prevent anyone from attempting another assassination on you.”
I nodded. “Okay.”

Then walked outside to the backyard.
I found Angelo and Ricardo beside the horses.
“Mommy, look!” Angelo exclaimed excitedly. “This horse is going to have a baby just like you!”
A soft laugh escaped me as I shook my head.
Ricardo seriously needed to stop teaching him everything.
I sat beneath one of the massive trees, turned on my phone, and a flood of missed calls and messages made it freeze for a moment.
My stomach tightened.
Most of them were from Levi.
\[Bebe. I got the divorce certificate. We can marry as soon as possible.\]
The message had been sent last night.
\[I tried calling you, but your phone is off. Is everything alright?\]
\[Call me once you read my messages.\]
\[I’ll be in the USA in two days.\]
I stared silently at the messages, my thoughts spiraling.
Maybe marrying Levi really was the only way to finally bring peace into my life.
From afar, I saw Luca leaving the villa.
Before getting into his car, he paused and looked toward us for a long moment.
Then he drove away.
I lowered my eyes to my phone again.
\[Happy to hear that. Now we can finally get engaged officially.\] I typed back, something slowly forming in my mind.
Almost immediately, Levi replied.
\[Mila. Finally. I’ve been trying to call you for three days.\]
A warm smile touched my lips.
\[I missed you too. I had some issues to solve. I’ll call you tonight.\]
\[Waiting for your call.\] He replied with a heart emoji.
If Luca thought he could cage me…
Then I would turn his dream into a nightmare.
A mischievous smile slowly curved my lips before I stood up and walked toward Ricardo and Angelo.
