Chapter 34
Beth’s POV:
Seeing Bobby at the club made her heart race, she wasn’t sure if Ryan would bring him up, but he did and made him mad. She watched him leave the club, he didn’t turn and look at her before he left and that made her sad. Mico watched her from the street as he paced while Bobby was on the phone.
“Beth what are you looking at? He’s gone,” Ryan said touching her face.
“Nothing,” she said looking at him. “I’m kind of tired, how long are we going to be here?”
“You want to leave? It’s still early.”
“Yes,” she said looking at him.
“Take her home,” he said looking at one of the warriors.
“Yes sir, come on Luna,” he said moving out of the way so Beth could get up and out of the booth.
“I love you, Beth, I’ll be home in the morning,” Ryan said kissing her hand.
Beth didn’t say anything to him, she followed the warrior to the back of the club. Ryan’s SUV was there. The Warrior unlocked the door, she waited until he opened it, but was distracted by a fight.
“Stay here, I’ll be back in a moment,” he said rushing towards the fighting.
Beth thought about getting in the car, but then she thought it was her chance to get away from Ryan, she didn’t know where she could go but there were enough people in the city, she could blend in.
She ran towards the people and the traffic, she wasn’t sure which way Bobby would have gone, she didn’t care she was free. Running as fast as she could, no one grabbed her, she was free. She walked as fast as she could away from the club and away from the alley. She knew if she had any chance of getting away from Ryan it was now.
He was going to be pissed when he found out the warrior was dumb enough to leave her alone to break up some drunken fight.
Beth had to stop a few minutes to catch her breath, the people continued to walk past her, she wished Bobby was still around or she knew where he was. She stood up and continued to walk, she had no idea where she was in the city, she wasn’t sure if there were dangerous parts, she walked past an alleyway, a pair of hands grabbed her covering her mouth pulling her into the darkness, a knife to her throat.
“You smell divine.” The man with a husky German voice spoke. “Nice catch, take her to the packhouse,” he said throwing her into another male, he disappeared into the street.
“Let me go!” Beth growled as he tossed her into a waiting car. “I belong to Ryan DeMarco.”
“Now you belong to James Gotti, Midnight Pack Mafia of New York City,” he snapped. “Drive.”
Beth wasn’t sure where they were taking her, she wished she’d never ran because at least she knew Bobby knew where she was, now he had no idea where she was. She watched as they drove past the buildings, but they stayed in the city, they turned into a parking garage.
The man that was sitting next to her, grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the car. She tried to fight him, but he was stronger. “Don’t fight me, little woman, you will not win,” he snapped. “Let’s go human girl.”
“Let me go pleased!” she whined.
“Sorry, you belong to us now,” he said throwing her over his shoulder. “Since you don’t want to play nice.”
“Let me down damn it!” she growled hitting him in his back, but it didn’t seem like it did any good.
He put her down when they were in the packhouse. She looked around, ten males were looking at her, she was scared out of her mind.
“Who’s the girl?” A man asked.
“Alpha James this is someone we picked up, Beta Michael caught her scent and told me to bring her here,” he said bowing to him.
“What’s your name?” he said walking towards her.
She didn’t say anything, she looked away from him, she didn’t want to answer questions. His pack grabbed her off the street, she wasn’t entirely sure what their plans were for her.
“I said what is your name?!” he growled.
“I fucking refuse to answer your question!” she growled looking at him.
“Oh, she has sass to her,” Alpha James said grabbing her chin, he pushed her hair to the side that revealed her marked. “She’s marked. A Luna of the Blood Moon Mafia Pack.” He narrowed his eyes. “Why would Ryan DeMarco let you roam the city alone?”
“He didn’t I ran away,” she growled. “He’s an abusive asshole, and he forced his mark. I am not his mate!” she said slapping his hand away from her. “Now, why am I here?”
“Well, it seems my Beta has started a war with Ryan, so I cannot allow you to leave,” he said with an angered look on his face. “So now you are my prisoner.”
“I am not your fucking prisoner, you can fight with Ryan without me, I am trying to find my real mate, Bobby DeLuca!”
“I’ve never heard of this DeLuca?” he said turning away from her. “You are staying here, if you try and escape, I will put you in my prison, it is far less nice than the house, so I suggest you enjoy being among my pack.”
“Bobby is from Italy, I found him by chance, he was almost murdered by Ryan and his family. You cannot keep me here!”
“I can and will, since I don’t know your name, I guess we’ll call you human girl,” he said walking up the stairs. “I have to prepare for this war, and I have to let Ryan know you are here.”
“No!” Beth growled. “Please don’t tell him I am here; I don’t want him to know where I am. Please just leave me here and keep me safe!”
“Sorry human girl, but a war has been started,” he said closing the door behind him.
Beth wasn’t going to stay put, she was going to escape from this place too. This was a building and there was a parking garage, if he was going to tell Ryan where she was, he was going to come there and take her away from them. She didn’t want to be the reason more people were dying because of her.
Walking to the door she thought about going out and seeing how far she could get before she was stopped. She wanted to run and run as fast as she could. She knew werewolves would be faster than she was. She opened the door, someone slammed it shut.
“You cannot go out.” It was the same man that brought her there. “You heard the Alpha; the prison is far worse than the house.”
“I don’t want to be here, why did you bring me here, I wanted to escape and find my mate. Now you are making me a prisoner here,” she said sliding down the door. “I can't believe I was finally free from the worst possible case and now I am in another case.”
“We won’t force you to do anything,” he said kneeling, “but you cannot leave. You are protected here; we won’t harm you. If you tell me your name, I can get you some nice food and get you a room and some clothes and stuff you can get comfortable in. Our Alpha will be nice to you.”
“I don’t want to be here,” she said with tears rolling down her cheeks. “Can’t you take me back to where you took me. My mate might be around, if he sees me, he will take me, and everything will be fine.”
“Ryan DeMarco will also see you; do you want to go back to being in his situation?” he said touching her face. “Come on, let’s go to the kitchen and get you something to eat, I know you have to be hungry.”
“Fine,” she said taking his hand he helped her up.
“Your name?” he said walking with her towards the kitchen.
“Beth,” she whispered.
“See was that so hard? Beth is such a pretty name. So, you were forced into being a Luna?” he said pushing open the kitchen door. A few people lingered but they didn’t stop eating to look at them.
“Yes,” she said wiping the tears off her face. “He wants to kill my mate, and he did it to take me away from my mate. They are at war with each other,” she said sitting down.
“But you are in the middle of this and you’re innocent.”
“He seems to think that I can have his babies, pretty childish I think,” Beth said looking away from him. “I guess I am going to be tortured forever because with being here Ryan is going to be sure to get me back, you guys get going to get hurt for no one. I just wish your Alpha would let me go.”
“He’s made the decision,” he said putting some food for her on a plate. “He knows what he’s doing, just let them do it.”
“Beth,” Alpha James said walking into the kitchen.
She looked at him and then looked past him, she frowned. “Ryan.”
“Hello baby, you made me worry about you,” he said kissing her forehead. “Thank you for calling me Alpha James, she ran off when a fight broke out behind the club,” he said pulling her up.
“No please,” she said trying to pull away from him. “I don’t want to go back.”
“Come on baby it’s late, and I know your dying to sleep,” he said tightening his grip around her. “Thanks again for keeping my Luna safe.”
“No problem, I was worried you would have thought we kidnapped her.”
“Oh no,” Ryan said half smiling, “When my warrior told me he lost her, I knew what happened,” he said before walking with her outside. “You almost got away,” he whispered. “Just wait until we get home.”
“Please don’t hurt me,” Beth whined.
Two warriors stepped out of the SUV, Ryan pushed her into them, they put her in the car before he pulled away from the building. “You should stay away from the alleyways, never know who might be lurking,” he said looking at her in the rearview mirror. “You almost cost Alpha James a war, but when he told me he had you, I asked him to turn you over peacefully and I wouldn’t attack him, he agreed and told me where you were,” he said smiling. “I’m so glad to have you back, he told me you mentioned Bobby, thankfully he’d never heard of him otherwise that would have cost me.”
Beth didn’t say anything, she was scared. She wasn’t entirely sure what he’d planned to do to her, but she knew it wasn’t going to be good. She knew he was going to rape her at least once.
“Bobby called me threatening me, his father the same,” he said without looking at her. “I thought maybe he got to you, but then I tested the waters, he had no idea you were missing so I had some time to find you.”
The drive to the villa seemed to go by fast, Beth’s heart rate picked up as soon as Ryan turned the car off and the warriors were out of the car. She stayed where she was. She didn’t want to get out of the car.
“Come on Beth, we need to go inside,” Ryan said calmly. “It’s late and I know you’re tired, your punishment is going to wait until tomorrow, I have some business to take care of tonight. I will have some food sent to you,” he said extending his hand.
She wasn’t sure if she wanted to trust him, but she felt like he wasn’t telling the truth. She took his hand; he leads her to the stairs but didn’t follow.
