A twist of fate
At nighttime, as the sky darkened with the sight of the full moon blocked by the dim heavy clouds, Jason stared at his pack members who moved about in preparation to attack Yoldes' palm in the city of Portico.

His main target being Alphonse and his Nightclaw pack.

Tonight, he had no reason to fear the hunters or whatnots, as he had the perfect plan in mind to lure Alphonse out.

His gammas, Terry, Igor, and Harrod stood right behind him with stem expressions, all ready for the attack as well.

Just then,

Vroom! Vroom!

Sounds of several vehicles were heard from all around as the whole place slowly lit up under the illumination of headlights.

Before Jason could even frown, several bikes and cars rushed out of the woods and came into sight as they surrounded the entrance to the Moonblood pack residence near the woods.

Jason looked at this with a slight scorn, wondering just what pack had the audacity to raid the Moonblood pack residence.

However, he soon expressed surprise and then delight when he saw a car park in front of the rest as a stout man with slightly balding hairline stepped out.

" Hahaha! How wondrous is fate!?" Jason couldn't help but laugh out loud at this coincidence. Although he had a plan in mind to lure out Alphonse when he attacks the latter in the city, he was still skeptical as to whether or not that'd work out.

He didn't actually believe that the alpha of the Nightclaw pack would come to him by himself!

Alphonse could t help but frown seeing Jason standing in front of his Moonblood pack members, laughing amusedly at him. He didn't expect that the latter would have left the city and returned to the residence just yet.

" Ah, who knew you'd come?" Jason chuckled as he spread his arms wide and sniffed the air, inhaling in satisfaction.

In an instant, his eyes grew a cold blue glint as he shot Alphonse an intent glare. Jason didn't waste time and just shifted!

Snap! Snap!

Sounds of bones snapping as his back bent and grew into that of a feral animal. A snout grew on his face as his mouth showcased sharp fangs that extended to his ears, sticky saliva drooled out through the jagged holes of his teeth as he growled madly.

Whoosh!

Jason rushed at Alphonse without hesitating!

Alphonse didn't stand around either as he shifted into his wolf form as well before jumping at Jason as they engaged in battle.

Rargh! Rargh!

Grrr! Grrr!

Everyone else around joined in, and a large-scaled pack fight broke out shortly after.

Packs of werewolves collided in a fierce battle, causing bloodied mess all over the place. Chunks of flesh and organs scattered about the floor in a gory scenery.

Destruction wrecked through all over the place, as peril befell the residence of the Moon blood pack.

Paige had long returned back to the residence. She stayed in Jason's place so as to not be suspected and decided to await a chance to provide itself for her escape.

However, she didn't expect that it'd come so soon.

Staring through the window down at the battle that ensued below, Paige was hesitant to make a move.

Nonetheless, she soon realized that she wouldn't get any other chance better than this.

Without wasting time she ran towards the basement to find Kyley and escape the residence along with her.

She could have done this alone but she knew she had nowhere to go where she could be protected from Jason. She decided to use Kyley to return and stay with Darren for a while before she would move on to a safer place.

As Paige headed towards the basement, her heart shook frivolously in doubt as she feared that she might be making a mistake, however, she persisted and didn't stop.

Arriving at the door to the basement at the end of the hallway, Paige wasn't moved nor surprised when she found out that it was locked. Instead, she looked down at her finger and let one of them grow long nails before sticking it in to pick the lock.

Click!

Soon, she unlocked the door!

Paige didn't stand around on ceremony and quickly pushed open the door. She rushed down the stairs and hurried towards Kyley.

" Paige?" Kyley who had sat up at the sudden sound of the door being pushed open, couldn't help but express in surprise. However, she frowned when the thought that Jason had allowed Paige to come in and torture her as well crossed her mind.

" W-what do you want?!" As Paige approached her, Kyley couldn't help but stutter to ask. The frown on her face conveying her scorn and hatred towards Paige.

Paige didn't pay mind to this and hurried to her side however, " Listen! This is our chance to escape. Jason might come back any time soon" Paige crouched and sharpened her nails to pick on the cuffs around Kyley's legs, hands and neck as she stared seriously.

Kyley just stared with a baffled expression at Paige but didn't stop her. She just watched as the latter picked the locks of the cuffs that she was bound with, wondering just what got into Paige.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

After a while of pricking the lock, Paige was finally able to break the cuffs free and quickly helped Kyley remove them.

" Come with me!" Paige held Kyley and helped her up. She urged afterwards in an alarmed tone.

" Paige, why are you doing... This?" Kyley stood to ask behind Paige. She was dumbfounded as to just what was going on. She didn't understand why Paige of all people was suddenly trying to help her escape.

Paige paused on her dash towards the staircase and half-turned to face Kyley hearing her doubts, she smiled wryly and looked at Kyley, " Let's say i finally realized that love really has nothing to do with pain..." Paige said with a wistful smile, pointing at the collar on her neck.

Kyley expressed surprise hearing this and couldn't help but stare at Paige in disbelief. She was slightly taken aback at Paige's words just now.

" I didn't know just what you went through until I walked in your shoes, Kyley. All I can say now is... I'm sorry for thinking you had it better. In fact, you had it worse than any one ever did" Paige clenched her fist hard by her side as she said. She couldn't imagine just how much pain Kyley has had to put up with in the past years that she'd been with Jason. Over, and over, and over again.

Kyley lowered her head in thought, feeling her heart whirl in a mix of emotions. For some reason, she was glad that somebody finally understood her plight. She was glad to finally have someone who knew just how much life had been unfair to her.

Kyley was glad...

" Kyley, we can talk better later. But let's leave now before somebody finds us!" Paige looked at Kyley and urged.

Kyley shook her thoughts off, and nodded her head seriously afterwards.

They both rushed out of the basement afterwards.
