Epilogue 2
Shyla’s P.O.V.
Ten days later...
“Kitten, why didn’t you include me in your plan?”
It’s been ten days and Maddox has asked me this question one hundred times, testing my patience. I had repeatedly explained to him the dangers of playing with the devil, but still, I replied to him calmly.
“Because it was necessary to catch Prince off guard.”
Nuzzling his furry neck, I inhaled deeply, his divine scent soothed my nerves.
“Our enemy was so cunning, Maddox. He could sense your relaxation through the bond. I had to be cautious.”
“We didn’t mean to worry you, mate.” Just like an obedient mate, Ash added to my statement, “As you have served the nation for centuries alone, this was our gift for you. We wanted to solve the issues and surprise you, mate.”
Along with my mate, my Goddess blessed me with my wolf as well, her grace had filled my life with rainbows and unicorns of love. Although there was a ten-day mourning period for the martyrs of war, Maddox couldn’t sit still. He took me out to run daily, leaving all work to Alpha Derrick.
Now, we were resting on a luscious green meadow adorned with colorful flowers after a morning run, lying on soft grass. The golden rays of pleasant morning sun illuminated Maddox’s dark fur, inviting me to bury my face in it. Rubbing my snout over that furry heaven, I licked my mark mischievously,
“Isn’t everything ended well, Maddox? I surprised you with a mating mark.”
“Yeah!” Maddox trembled under my touch, satisfying me with my effect over that mighty lycan. “Then you left me alone for three hours straight, Kitten. This was the worst mating gift.
You took every decision without considering my opinion, keeping me in the dark. You have no idea how scared I was?”
Hearing Maddox’s complaints, I realized the harmony of our relationship that a King was turned into a perfect mate, voicing his thoughts openly. Otherwise, he was such a pauciloquent man that he didn’t tell me about his name on our first meeting.
The freshness of morning wind covered up the bitterness of sorrow, I rested my head on his broad chest and sighed.
“I am so sorry for troubling you, Maddox. But consider it as a payback for hiding the truth for me earlier.
You concealed my identity; I didn’t inform you about my scheme. We are even now.”
“You are indeed the other half of my soul, Kitten. So petty!” Maddox chuckled, brushing my fur softly. This scenery, peace, and my mate’s voice ringing in my ears, became my favorite after a chaotic past. I just wanted to hear him all day long with his claws brushing my fur like this.
Zeth purred happily, delighted by my thoughts. He spoke gently,
“I also want to stay by your side 24/7, Kitten. What about a vacation on Island? We can go for a honeymoon ...”
“Not again!”
I quickly sat up and warned him, “No more Island. We’ll go to Paris next time with all our friends. I can’t risk going alone anywhere.”
The memory of that ominous trip made me shudder, it was the most idiotic decision of my life to go alone. Privacy could go to hell, at least, we would come back together safely.
However, Maddox wasn’t on the same page as me, he pointed out issues to support his notion.
“Look, Moira is pregnant, and Catherine is busy with werewolves’ recovery. Hayden is taking a break from royal matters and ...”
His long list of excuses was cut short by my jab in his rib cage, I growled at him.
“We are going to Paris, and it’s final.”
My Alpha command was followed by complete silence, Maddox’s intense gaze in response erupted butterflies in my stomach. I had noticed that he always appeared mesmerized to listen to my authoritative tone.
Deep in my thoughts, I experienced a massive jump scare when Maddox got up and flipped me under him. My heart waltzed in my chest to see him inching closer deliciously,
“Privacy is important, Kitten. How will I have my breakfast if we are in a stupid hotel with others?”
His seductive whisper grew my body hotter, igniting the fire of desire in my chest. I knew we were loud AF during sex, and he was hinting towards it. But I feigned ignorance and pouted,
“I can cook your breakfast in the hotel’s kitchen as well. They take special requests ...”
I was in the middle of my innocent act when a warm lick on my mark made me forget everything, exciting me for real breakfast in the morning. Wagging my tail, I responded to his advances with a bite on his shoulder, Maddox paused for a moment.
“Hey! You have a wolf, it doesn’t mean that you will bite me everywhere.”
I giggled at his sweet complaint, placing my paws on his chest, “You are mine to bite, Maddox. Don’t tempt me to leave a mark on your junk as well.
Recently, he has been a frequent visitor to my mouth.”
Maddox leaned closer, racing my heart, he was about to shut my savage mouth when Alpha Derrick’s thunderous growl echoed in our link.
“Maddox, Shyla, come back now!”
...
Alpha Derrick, Maddox’s father, acted as my own dad, welcoming me into his family as his daughter. He asked me to call him dad like Maddox.
“You aren’t alone, Shyla. We are with you.”
His nosy mother-in-law’s behavior interrupted us now, but it was a reminder that we had an elder in our lives, caring for us. And when we entered the Castle, the time on the clock made us realize that he was right.
We were damn late for our mating ceremony, Moira and Catherine were waiting for us outside our chambers as we reached there.
“Your Majesty, it’s 09:00 am. All guests are gathered in the throne hall.
Alpha Derrick is looking for you.”
Shoot!
There was no leniency for a rule breaker in dad’s dictionary, and we were late to our mating ceremony. This was a perfect recipe for a disaster.
According to the rules, the Royal couple should be present in the hall for the rituals after sunrise, but clouds covering the sky deceived us.
We both were gasping for air after getting ready on such a short notice, I almost tripped over my long dress due to heels. A-line, and thin strapped gown in a deep red hue, almost crimson like Ruby, adorned with hundreds of sparkling gemstones, it was my dream dress to wear at the mating ceremony.
I was over the moon to be my lycan king’s bride!
Maddox gently placed his hand on my waist, walking by my side on the long red carpet. His heart-warming smile burned my cheeks as he complimented me.
“You are looking gorgeous, my Erasthai!”
Just like the entire Castle, the throne hall was also decorated with red roses and white tulips, increasing the beauty of that historical hall.
Hayden was in charge of all the activities, and his anxiety was touching the roof. He could be seen constantly ordering his sires to move faster.
Not many guests were invited as it was a private event of the royals. But the Alphas and Lunas of different races had extended the invitation. After all, Lycan King had found his queen after three centuries.
Standing beside the throne, Alpha Derrick and the Priest bowed their hands as we climbed the stairs and faced the guests.
The Priest cleared his throat, making the guests smile, as it was a sign for us to be separated.
“Oh!”
Maddox took his position besides his dad, apologizing.
“Pardon me. It’s my first mating ceremony!”
“And the last as well!” Ash glared at Zeth, scolding him through the link.
With a smile, we both grabbed our hands while the Priest wrapped a red sash around our joined hands, reading out the ritualistic chants. Everyone was lost in the profound blessings of our fateful union as the Priest said,
“May your union be blessed by your family and the entire supernatural world. Your couple is a blessing of the God Daragor and the Moon Goddess for the kingdom.”
The congratulatory growls echoed in the hall as the Priest opened the sash, announcing us as a mated couple officially. Then Alpha Derrick spoke, happiness was oozing out of his tone.
“Bring the crowns!”
Two gold crowns, adorned with diamonds, and colorful stones were presented on the red velvet pillows. Beta James was happy beyond words to fulfill this duty.
He was also there when Maddox was crowned as the King of the supernatural world. And today, he was here with his Erasthai to witness my coronation. The gleeful faces of my friends’ gang fluttered my heart like butterfly wings when Alpha Derrick put the gold crown on my head, completing the ritual.
“Alpha Shyla Miller, the Queen of the supernatural world, is a Fenrir Alpha wolf. Her coronation is the new beginning of peace and harmony.
May heaven bless this sacred union of two living hearts in a fated mate-bond.”
Well, that was it for the official stuff, I was looking forward to the banquet to mingle with my buddies. However, Maddox had prepared a surprise for me.
He asked the guests to wait for one more announcement and eyed Hayden. As on a cue, Mrs. Lockwood emerged from the crowd of guests, holding Marcel, he was dressed in a cute red and golden gown. She stepped forward and handed me my son in my arms.
Using his Royal command, Maddox spoke in an earnest tone, his silky deep voice reverberated the hall.
“I, Alpha Maddox Miller, hereby adopt my Erasthai’s son, Alpha Marcel, as my own. From now on, he will be addressed as Marcel Miller.”
What?
The happiness of reaching the finish line after running a long marathon enveloped me as I raised my head and looked at my mate. His affectionate gaze swayed my heart, making me feel like the luckiest woman alive on earth.
His sincere smile was a promise that nothing would be wrong in my life ever again.
“Alpha Marcel Miller is my Crown Prince, the next heir to the throne. We will gather here on his twenty-fifth birthday to crown him as the King of the supernatural world.”
Maddox graciously handed me the signed papers of adoption, filling my heart with so much joy, that the brightest smile ever stretched my lips. I found myself flying in the air as he whispered lovingly,
“You, me and Marcel. We are a family, Kitten.”
