Chapter 185 Tell me your plans.
Chapter 185 Tell me your plans.
Melissa could see the reaction on Harkov's face and deep down she knew it was a real one. The thing was Harkov Dunham had an ability that allowed him to control his emotions perfectly. It wasn't an otherworldly ability or anything, he was just talented at deceit. He'd picked up this knack for trickery at a very young age.
Ivar and him were friends then even though Ivar was older he found something special about the young man who could understand things at his level, their friendship grew and when Harkove would come of age they went through a lot together, that relationship had turned sore now and they were at each other's throats.
Harkov stood nonchalantly as he beheld Diane and just chuckled. “So you all came here just for me?” He smiled. “I understand that you might have gotten me agitated, that was just a good effort from you Ivar, but as you know I am always one step ahead on the game. I calculated all the variables and I know exactly how to kill Diane, do you remember the wolf razed this entire town to the ground?” He asked.
He then flicked out a puppet from his pocket. “I took the liberty of having your daughter here Clarisee make this for me,” he exhaled. “Irs main ability is to return whatever damage I deal on it to whoever's DNA is embedded on it. And you wouldn't believe this… I took the Liberty of getting a bit of your blood on the puppet,” he chuckled. “So I suggest you obey me,” he said and then broke the hand of the puppet and Diane yelled in pain as her bones cracked.
“Ouch,” Harkov laughed.
Melissa exhaled and her heart started beating. Ivar's plan had been to pit Diane against him, if that didn't work they'd have to fight him and his army of unnatural wolves and that was a fight she knew they would definitely lose. It wasn't just about the strength of those wolves but the fact that they couldn't really be killed. One of them that had its neck snapped back climbed up after a few minutes.
They couldn't fight unkillable monsters while fighting Harkov it was a surefire way to suicide. “I would actually like to hear how you managed to make a plan this broad under my nose without me noticing, you destroyed the buildings in that explosion didn't you?” He asked.
Ivar exhaled. “The plan started a long time ago but then it changed shape when I met Melissa at the Regional meeting. She had fire in her and there was kindness too,” Ivar began, leaning against a car in a relaxed tone, Diane was on the ground holding her arm and Melissa realized that both of them had given up and accepted their fate.
“So I contacted her when Arabella told me she saved her life while you sent your minions to kill her,” he said
“Oh I didn't mean to kill her, it was just the rules to kill anyone who saw the labs. It was the way I have kept it a secret all this while. Funnily, it was you Ivar who taught me how to clean up my tracks,” he said with a smile. “But continue, I really want to know how I won this little game of ours. It was challenging,” he said.
“When I met her that day, I told her of Arabella's involvement in the zoo and that she was able to successfully infiltrate the oracle due to her having the same ailment I did, a double personality. I asked her to help me take you down, and I promised her that our goals interlocked. Though I never told her that you were the head of the oracle then, I just asked her to help me take you down in exchange for the information she would gain by helping me out. She agreed then and that was how I begun the plan.”
“Oh nice, that was the same day Hades died, a memorable day indeed,” Harkov replied. Continue will you?
“The plan went on subtly until you decided it was high time you killed me about three weeks ago and I decided if I was going to die I would drag you down to hell with me. So we made a drastic change to the plan. We knew one of our Sentinel group had gotten hold of Clarissa and we capitalized on that and sent the princess to battle with you,” he said. “We knew she had to be captured so you didn't think of chasing after Clarissa and storming the palace directly. We were still keeping our houses in order,” he said with a smile. “That was a bait you bit really a hard.”
“You expect me to believe that this little girl agreed to be captured and tortured by me just so you can get your plans moving,?” He asked.
“You have no idea what she is capable of in Kharkov but you'd soon find out,” he said. “let me continue my little story so you can understand how far behind the game you really her.” Ivar said.
As he said this, multiple people began dropping from the mists and few sentinels started to guide them towards the cars parked. Some were handcuffed and some were not. Melissa glanced around with a smile and exhaled. Their plan seemed to have worked, she thought the infernal had given up but now. His plan seemed to have worked and he was confident in its success.
“You didn't blow up the lab?” Harkov asked.
“Oh the explosion was just a diversion. I blew up the empty building nearest to the outside,” he chuckled. “I don't massacre innocents any longer, I left that in my past and I am still paying a hell of a penance for it,” he declared and Harkov was visibly shaken.
Arabella came from behind them and placed a small runestone on the ground and the seven wolves that were acting like his bodyguard all dropped to the ground dead.
