Chapter 150 Spycam

Chapter 150 Spycam
They were currently in the royal dining room that has not necessarily been functioning due to the current precarious situation of things. Melissa remembered how her father used to make sure every single one of the council members attended the royal dining at least once in a week. They'd all dine together and speak about things that didn't relate to politics at all. He tried his best to bring them all together.

She remembered the smiles and jokes that usually happened. It was only her mom that was never really present there. Dreykov always had something stupid to say and she was always sneak talking with Richard about something. She suddenly felt a wave of stupidity that it took her this long to know Richard was her mate. She giggled unconsciously and Richard bodied her a bit.

"What's that for?" She looked at him as she glared at the computer screen waiting for it to finish copying the files.

"You were smiling weirdly," he said.

"I was just smiling, what do you mean weird?" She asked.

"You were smiling like you do when I kiss you," he said it with zero expression and a nonchalant attitude, It was also so loud everyone heard and Hence was currently glancing up at her, so was Beatrice.

She turned to Richard in annoyance. "What the hell?" She exclaimed, her cheeks reddening,as she elbowed Richard.

He chuckled. "Why, am I reminding you of something?" he said again, loud enough for everyone to hear and she could feel the glances on her again.

Her face reddened again and she bulged her eyes at Richard who was having a time of his life. He was chuckling so deeply his eyes were getting watery. "What do you get from embarrassing me?"

"Unparalleled joy," he said as the computer notified them it was done with a beep. She glanced away, rolling her eyes.

"Let's get to work, gods!" Just as she said this, the door to the room clicked and it swung open. Vanessa and Candice walked in with Richards behind them obviously stressed out already. She glanced up at the trio as they walked in. "Avalors, are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah," he said.

"No, he is not," Margaret interjected sharply, glaring at him.

Melissa smiled. "Yeah, you need to get some rest though, we will have a small meeting tomorrow," she informed him and the aging man nodded, turning away.

Even though Melissa didn't necessarily feel the bond that occurs between alphas and beta from Avalors, she still knew she couldn't do anything without him. She smiled before turning to the system screen.

"So we will all be here for more than three hours, with our faces glued to the screen, Vanessa and Candice, please fill up the remaining two computers, Richard claims he can handle two together, " she ordered. The entire room consisted of seven PCs each, and each and everyone focused on one, aside from Richard who was sure he could handle two.

They sat down there checking for any of the Vance pack's councilmen. It was going to be a very long search obviously, so Melissa had thought it further to provide snacks for everyone. Though the snacks were a little dominated by grapes, no one complained.

Two hours passed by in a flash, and Melissa didn't really see anything, just different maids walking up and down and doing their jobs. Once or twice a random man would walk into a certain room and just halt there for a while then leave again.

Melissa didn't find it peculiar, until she saw it like five times. "Richard,"she called. "What is this?"She asked.

Her mate slid towards her and glanced at the cameras. She reversed it and played it multiple times then Richard bulged his eyes. "Someone tampered with the cameras from the security room directly. They dislodged the feeds and actively deleted some scenes, before it was manually backed up, " he said. "It is impossible to get the real footage from a backup drive but we can get it from the master room," he informed.

"Okay, um Richard?"she said, making a puppy face.

"Yeah," he said before she could even ask the question. "I can handle three computers."

She grimaced as if in pain as she shook her head. "Yes, I can handle four computers," he said with a glare.

"Thank you," she said, pecking him on the cheeks before turning around. She noticed everyone glancing back at their computer at that moment. She exhaled and scoffed. "Beatrice, come on, let's go."

They both left the room as they headed towards the security room. It has been a long time since she'd been there. She remembered she knew one or two people working there. Old man Hale and Joyce, two of the security team 's tech support. They had been a little tight when she was a kid, they probably were not even working there anymore.

Beatrice tapped Melissa and she glanced up. Coming their way was Ronald and by his sides were Catherine and Alina.

"Oh snap," Melissa muttered.

"Your majesty,"Catherine greeted first and the others joined in.

She nodded and smiled. "Glad to see you are alive," she directed the statement to Alina who flushed.

"All thanks to Beatrice, it was hard to believe one of our own would attempt such a rash action," she replied.

"For some of us, it is not that hard to believe. Betrayals are common, especially among wolves whose origins are dubious," she glanced at Ronald who chuckled.

"I am just glad to see you alive, even though the tides of time have driven us apart,"he said.

Melissa giggled softly. "Announce to everyone on the Council, there will be an emergency meeting in three days. We need to reshuffle some things,"Melissa told Alina then walked away.

She exhaled as soon as she walked past them. "Soon, they will be back to being a thorn in our feet. We have to cut them off then," she informed Beatrice.

"Without hesitation," the councilwoman replied
