Chapter 19
Luna's POV:
I had never, ever been the kind of girl to fall for a guy so quickly, let alone the kind of girl who would some how end up stumbling upon someone as gorgeous and smart, and kind as Westley Johnson.
Yet, I had.
Now it was time to face the facts, I sat as I waited for him to say,
"It's over. I'm getting back together with my ex, I don't feel like this is working out."
I looked at his eyes, they were soft and warm.
"Yes?" I said in response to him.
"Last night, I got a note...it was from an old friend of mine, or actually my ex. Her name is Mackenzie." My stomach clenched
"She asked me if I could meet with her for breakfast today, to talk about some things, and I did."
"Okay, what kind of things?" I asked trying to sound cool and calm.
"She told me she missed me, she missed us and she kept thinking about me."
I bit the inside of my cheek to hold it together.
"Okay, and?"
"So after she told me that, I told her that as much as I appreciated that, it had been four years and I was over our relationship quickly.
I told her that I had honestly not thought about the two of us the last four years, not until now.
And then I told her that I was seeing a girl, a wonderful, brilliant, kind, and beautiful girl named Luna. That I was extremely happy to have you in my life, and that I couldn't imagine you not with me."
I looked at him blankly, in absolute awe
"What-what did you she say?" I asked, my voice cracking again.
"She nodded and said she understood, she then said that she was very happy for me and wanted nothing but the best." He said with a warm smile.
I realized I was holding my breath
"Luna? Breathe."
"So, you're not here to tell me that things aren't working out with you and I and that you're going to leave me for your ex that I said, I quickly covered my mouth. The words were out before I could even stop them.
He looked at me in surprise then a compassionate expression formed on his face
"Why on earth, would I ever leave you?"
"I- I don't know it just seemed like it might have been heading down tha-" His lips planted on mine as he pulled away from me and opened his bright green eyes.
"That was a nice way of telling me to shut up." I said gushing. He smiled and rubbed my hand with his thumb.
"Leaving you, isn't in the cards for me." I sighed again with relief.
"Likewise."
A few moments later my family barged in.
"Oh, hi. West. We didn't know you were coming over." my aunt said trying to sound casual, it was far from it.
He smiled
"I, uh had to discuss some stuff with Luna."
"Oh, nothing serious I hope?" she continued on, my mom and sister watching from behind.
"No, nothing serious. Nothing bad. But I do have to go, I'm having lunch with my mom and brother in about a half hour, so, I'll see you soon?" he said to me as he gave me a look, it was intense yet kind.
"Yes, of course." I said.
"Great." He leaned in and kissed me on the lips, right in front of my family, I could feel their eyes on us as I heard a slight gasp from He pulled away and looked at me, "Ladies." he said giving them a slight nod of the head than winking at me and leaving.
My family immediately looked at me,
"Oh. My. Gosh." Katerina said
"Oh, my goodness that was so precious!" my mom squealed.
"Ah, luna!" Jen said shaking my arm.
I felt like pudding, my knees became weak and my heart fluttered.
"Aw, look at her. So cute!" Kirsten said,
"Guys, please." I said taking a seat.
"We are just so happy for you sweetie!"
I smiled, I truly did have the greatest family ever.
Westley's POV
I pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant and hurried in,
"I'm meeting my mom and broth-Oh they're right there." I said to the hostess as I walked up to them.
"Hello darling, how are you doing?" asked my mom.
I smiled,
"I'm doing really well. Thank you for asking, and you?"
"As good as I can be." She had been distant the last day or two, I understood why, however I hated to see her like this.
"So you're all smiles, did you see Luna today?" asked Andrew looking at me with a sly look, I rolled my eyes and formed a straight line with my mouth.
"Yes, indeed I did. It was wonderful."
"I'm so glad you have found her, she is a true delight." says my mom with a smile on her,
"I have to agree."
We were seated just moments later.
"So, are you planning on going to the festival tonight?" asked Andrew
"Shit, I forgot about it. Yeah, most likely, I mean I need to don't I?"
"Why do you say that?" asked my mo
"Well because, I was supposed to go, to represent Elvis."
"You don't need to represent him anymore, you are free to go and do as you please.
He is not going to be a problem of ours for much longer." said our mother who was looking down at the menu,.
"What do you mean?" asked Andrew
"I mean, I have been in contact with lawyers and attorneys, I am filing for divorce, and I want you; Westley to take over the business, with the help of myself and your brother that is." she said, her eyes still fixated on the menu.
I looked directly at Andrew who stared at her in disbelief.
"Why were we not aware of these plans earlier?"
"They weren't set in stone a few days ago, but now they are."
"So, you just expect me to pick up where he left off. In case you were wondering, there's a lot that we would need to go over, and figure out. Not t"That is still being determined. You will be taking over the majority of the company, all you'd need from Eli and myself is support, and some of your time every once in a while."
"Who's name is going up there then?"
"It will stay the same, but no longer will be under his first name but yours Westley."
"Ad Mr. Jansen knows of this?"
She nodded
"Of course he does, he is completely on board with the plans." I sighed, this was a lot to take in.
"Have you decided what you'd like to order?" the waiter asked, I raised my fingers "Yes, sir?"
"Yeah, uh I'll take a cocktail..." I said taking a deep breath.
"Make that two please." Andrew said chiming in, we both looked at each other, exasperation on our faces.
Luna's POV
"Are you coming to the festival tonight? You better be coming to the festival tonight!"
Said Bella on the other end of the phone, I picked through my closet to find my dark skinny jeans and tan riding boots
"Yes, I will be there. Why does it matter so much if I come or not?"
"Because! Benson's mother and sister are going with us and I do NOT want to be alone with them."
"Nay, Benson will be with you, you aren't going to be totally alone."
"Not unless he hangs out with his friends there. Just promise me that you'll be there."
I stopped looking and stood up straight,
"Yes Bella I promise that I will be there. Why wouldn't I? The place I work for is in charge of it, of course I will be there."
"Hey Kate, do you have my tan riding boots?" I yelled out as I covered the speaker of the phone with my hand.
"Luna! I forgot to ask, what ever happened to you an West Johnson, god he is one fine piece of as-"
"Vella! Can you not?" I said covering my face
"What? Its the truth he is beautiful, he has a super sculpted face, and gorgeous green-gray eyes and have you seen his body! His parents did well, they did very very well.
I rolled my eyes,
"But yeah, what happened?"
"Look, we will talk about it tonight. I'll see you soon." we hung up and I began to change.
I turned on my iPhone and began to play my playlist, Drake was the first to come up.
That's when I caught a glimpse of somebody standing in my doorway, as I twirled around and screamed as I realized it was West.
"Oh my god! West!" I said my eyes wide, as I picked up my clothes and ran into my bathroom which was connected to my bedroom.
"Luna, it's not like I haven't seen it before." I peered around the corner of the cracked door and looked at him.
He now wore a dark jacket, a gray v-neck t-shirt and dark pants. He had a glimpse of a smirk on his face. I threw the shirt I had been wearing earlier at the back of his head and quickly shut my bathroom door.
"Cute, that was cute." He said sarcastically. I smirked, satisfied with myself.
I finally finished getting ready and opened my bathroom door to find West sitting patiently on the edge of my bed.
"You look great." He said standing up and kissing my cheek. I blushed.
"Thank you, what are you doing here?"
"Well you didn't expect me to not go to the festival that you've worked so hard on, did you?"
I bit my lip
"I decided that I'd like to accompany you to the festival."
I laughed slightly and raised a brow
"Accompany me?" he nodded, oh gosh there was that smoldering look again.
This time I was extremely with it.
"Well then lead the way." he smiled
We walked out into my living room, my mother and aunt were sitting on the couch talking and sipping wine.
"Well don't you two look comfy." I said with a smile "You would be correct, where are you two off to?" asked my mom as she looked over her shoulder at us.
"The festival. The one that my work is putting on."
"Oh my gosh! That's tonight? Ah, Luna why didn't you tell us we'd love to go." said my mom springing up from the couch.
"Look, you two go and we will meet up with you there." she said, we nodded and left, walking towards the elevator.
The doors opened and we stepped inside, a family stepped in on the floor below us. They were arguing as they stood in front of us.
I looked at West, who had a hint of a grin on his lips, as did I.
"Jesse! Amelia! Stop it, or you don't get to play any games at the festival." said the mother, the father was rubbing his temples while their son and daughter fought.
I felt West's hand slide up an down my arm, then reaching my hand and fitting his perfectly in place with mine.
I smiled, as I intertwined my fingers with his.
Less than a few moments later we reached the lobby, I held Nick's hand tightly as we walked to his car which was parked outside of my building.
"Well...that was interesting." he said with a slight laugh, I nodded.derwear as I brushed my hair.
