Chapter 28 Leondra's life pill
Chapter 28 Leondra's life pill
Leondra had successfully caught the deer. She then brought it to Henary.
"You caught this deer so easily, you must have used your magic," said Henary, teasing Leondra.
"Of course, dear, otherwise it would have been difficult to catch it, especially since we didn't bring any equipment," replied Leondra, stroking the deer.
The deer was still alive, of course. Henary then gently stroked the deer, looking at it with pity.
"I can't bear to kill it and then eat it," Henary whispered with a sad expression.
"If you really feel that way, let me kill and cut it up. Then we can cook it together," said Leondra, and Henary nodded in agreement.
"Yes, I don't have the heart. Besides, I'll probably feel nauseous seeing the blood," replied Henary.
"All right. Wait here for a moment," said Leondra, then left Henary.
This was Leondra's chance to enjoy the deer's blood. Obviously, Leondra was more interested in the blood than the meat.
They cooked in the forest near the cave where they lived.
"I've washed the meat thoroughly and removed the smell of blood. You just need to add the seasoning," said Leondra.
Henary looked very enthusiastic, then began to grill the meat using the campfire Leondra had made.
Then, when Henary thought it was cooked, he immediately tasted it slowly.
"It doesn't taste too bad," said Henary.
Henary ate a few pieces of meat, and Leondra ate much less than Henary because she was already full from eating the deer blood.
"Why are you eating so little?" asked Henary.
"I'll eat more later, I'm already full," replied Leondra with a smile.
"Full?" Henary was obviously surprised, because Leondra had only eaten a little meat.
"Don't tell me you don't actually like the meat? But it's not too bad, it's still tasty in my opinion," said Henary.
"Yes. But I'm not used to eating a lot," muttered Leondra.
"You have to be honest with me, Leondra!" exclaimed Henary with an annoyed expression.
"I'm being honest with you, dear, I like food. But I can't eat too much because I have digestive problems," replied Leondra.
"Why is that?" Henary muttered, staring at Leondra.
"I was punished by my father once because I broke the rules. I was seriously injured, and they said I was going to die. Then my mother sacrificed herself and gave me the pill of life," explained Leondra.
"So you mean if that pill was taken from your body, you could have died?" asked Henary, holding back her tears.
"Yes. That's also why I couldn't stop you from marrying that stupid Wolf," said Leondra.
Leondra wasn't entirely lying; her father was indeed very cruel. If her mother hadn't sacrificed herself, she might have died.
"No wonder Leondra's face is sometimes as pale as a vampire's; it turns out she's suffered quite a lot," Henary muttered to herself.
"Are there any other restrictions besides eating too much?" asked Henary.
"I think that's all," replied Leondra.
"The witch clan does have a strong spirit, and they absolutely cannot break the rules. I feel the same way as you," said Henary as he sat down next to Leondra.
"But which witch clan are your parents from? I'm very curious," he continued, looking at Leondra.
"The Saxtreo clan. Did you know?" Henary's eyes widened, clearly surprised by Leondra's words.
"I guessed you would be surprised. But you don't need to be afraid," replied Leondra with a slight smile.
"My father said that the Saxtreo are no longer part of the wizard clan because they have taken the path of evil," Henary muttered.
"That's true, they did fight against your father in the past. But it was because they didn't agree to submit to the Wolf," Leondra explained.
"You know my brother died fighting a Wolf, and since then my family and I have refused to befriend Wolves. And I hate Wolves even more now, because they treated you so badly," he continued, his face angry.
"Oh my, I'm sorry, Leondra. I've reopened an old wound," Henary whispered, looking guilty.
"I thought Leondra only hated Alpha Almarjaf because of me, but it's because her family has a grudge against the Wolves," Henary said to herself.
"Henary, do you believe me? If you have doubts, I'll show you something," said Leondra.
"What is it, Leondra?" asked Henary with a curious look on her face.
"If you doubt me, I'll show you something that is precious to me," Leondra replied with a smile.
Leondra wanted to make Henary trust her completely.
"What do you mean, Leondra?" Henary still didn't understand what Leondra was going to do.
Leondra stood up and used her powers to remove the life pill from her body.
Henary, who saw the pill coming out of Leondra's body, was naturally panicked, especially seeing Leondra looking in great pain and her face very pale.
"Stop, Leondra! What are you doing? You could hurt yourself," Henary shouted in panic as he hugged Leondra tightly.
Leondra put the life pill back into her body. "I thought you didn't believe me, so I had to show you," Leondra chuckled and said softly.
"Don't do that, you idiot! You could hurt yourself," Henary said angrily.
"I'm sorry," Leondra whispered with a slight smile.
"I believe in you, Leondra. So, don't ever hurt yourself just because you want to prove the truth to me," Henary said, holding back her tears.
"Henary, you are the woman I love so much. I am even willing to reveal my weakness to you. I don't care if you get angry and kill me. You can take this life pill from my body, right here," said Leondra, placing Henary's hand on his chest.
"You're annoying and stupid! I'll never kill you," Henary said, crying.
Henary felt truly special to Leondra. Leondra seemed to have given up his life for her.
"If I ever disappoint you, don't ever leave me. I'd rather you punish or kill me. Believe me, I won't be able to fight you," said Leondra, gently rubbing Henary's back.
