Chapter 20 Being a hero but cunning
Someone approached Henary, causing her to back away.

"Why are you still afraid of me? You weak woman," he said, looking at Henary with a mocking gaze.

"Earl. What do you want? How dare you come here. Aren't you afraid of dying if the Vampires find out you're a Wolf?" said Henary.

Henary tried to be brave in facing Earl, because she was sure Earl would not use his Wolf powers to kill her.

"You think I'm a stupid woman? Of course I have many ways," he said with a laugh.

"What do you want? Now you have Alpha Almarjaf, and I won't bother you two anymore. I now have a lover, and we will be married soon," said Henary.

"I don't care if you have a lover or not. But because you are still alive, my husband is trying to find you again and intends to have children with you on the orders of your family. I cannot accept that," growled Earl.

"Do you think I'm willing to go back to Alpha Almarjaf? I'm going to get a divorce soon," snapped Henary.

"Stupid! Alpha Almarjaf won't divorce you because your family has told him about you, and unfortunately, I lost to you," said Earl, staring intently at Henary.

"He prefers to have children with you rather than with me. Just because you can benefit the Wolf Clan," Earl yelled as he approached Henary.

"I've told you, I'm not interested. I already have a lover whom I love," Henary shouted with an emotional expression.

"You must die, Henary! I won't let you live and let my husband have offspring with you," Earl said.

"You'll regret it if you do that, Earl. My lover won't let me get hurt," Henary warned.

"Where is he? I don't see him. I know he's gone," Earl said with a chuckle.

"Leondra, where are you? I really need your help," Henary muttered to herself.

"But it seems like I won't kill you. I'll just have Alpha Almarjaf make you my slave. It doesn't matter if my husband has children with you, he will never love you. The only woman Alpha Almarjaf loves is me," said Earl with a smile.

"Watch what you say, I won't be your slave," Henary growled.

"If that's the case, try to stay away from my husband. Can you do that? Especially since my husband is very strong," Earl said with a chuckle.

"You think only your husband is strong? My lover is also very strong, he will protect me," Henary said with an angry expression.

"Really? But you're alone here now," Earl said with a laugh.

"I'll give you two choices. I kill you, or you stay here, but my husband will find you. And I'll make sure you're treated like a lowly slave," he continued.

"Damn it! That won't happen to me," snapped Henary.

"You're starting to get brave, but it's useless. You will never be able to fight me, you are still a weak and useless woman," said Earl as he pushed Henary, causing her to fall.

"Earl, you'll regret this!" Henary yelled.

"But I can't kill you. The Wolf needs you. I have to support what my husband wants," Earl said.

"Even if you go to the ends of the earth, my husband will find you. It's a shame you have such bad luck, being targeted by various groups but never loved," she continued with a laugh.

Henary got up and slapped Earl hard across the cheek. "Watch your mouth, you bastard. I am deeply loved by my lover."

Earl stared intently at Henary, holding his sore cheek. But he did not immediately retaliate.

"I feel sorry for you, that's why I came to see you first, before my husband finds you," said Earl.

"I don't need your pity, you bastard!" Henary shouted emotionally.

"Ah, how annoying. If that's the case, I'd rather just kill you. The Wolf can get other benefits without having to involve a lowly woman like you. I won't allow my husband to touch you. I've made so many efforts to get Alpha Almarjaf, I even had to kill that old Wolf," said Earl.

"If Alpha Almarjaf finds out, you'll regret it. He'll kill you," growled Henary.

Earl laughed when he heard that. "You're wrong, you fool. Alpha Almarjaf loves me deeply, and he already knows everything. He isn't angry with me because the only way we can be together is by killing his parents." Henary didn't expect that what Leondra had said was true.

"Now I'm going to kill you. Before your man returns," he continued.

Earl used his strength to strangle Henary's neck. Henary clutched his neck, struggling to breathe.

"Goodbye, lowly woman. You can join your parents now," he said with a laugh.

Henary closed her eyes as the suffocation grew worse.

"How dare you hurt my future wife," Leondra shouted as she attacked Earl, knocking him to the ground.

Henary felt relieved that Leondra had arrived just in time.

"I'll kill you, you bastard!" Leondra shouted emotionally.

"Try it if you can," Earl seemed to defy Leondra.

"But I'll call my husband first, you two just wait!" After that, Earl disappeared.

Leondra intended to chase after him, but Henary immediately hugged Leondra.

"We have to get out of here, don't chase him. I'm afraid this is just a trap," said Henary, crying.

"I'm sorry I was late. I'm stupid! I shouldn't have left you," said Leondra, wiping Henary's tears.

"Let's go, Leondra. Before they come back here," said Henary.

"We're not leaving, Henary. I'll protect you. I'll cast a magical protection spell around the house," replied Leondra.

"The only place where the Wolf cannot use his powers to their fullest is in the Vampire territory. I think we're much safer here," she continued, gently stroking Henary's head.

Henary just nodded her head, without letting go of her embrace. "Don't leave me again, Leondra. I'm scared. I'm still too weak to fight them on my own."

Leondra looked at Henary with a regretful expression. "I'm sorry, I promise I won't leave you. Just stay calm."

Without Henary knowing, Leondra smiled slightly because her plan was going smoothly again. The demon king had successfully helped her create an illusion of Earl. Actually, it wasn't Earl, but someone else disguised as Earl.

It was very cunning, but Leondra didn't care. She just wanted Henary to always be with her.
