Chapter 17

Chapter 17

Tristan.

It's never easy when you've never dealt with your people, especially the boogie type who thinks roses arrows drom.beds and all they have to do I s lay on it.

Tye Street leasing to the council building is empty per usual. As we approach the door, two large guards stop us. One search myself, my brother and parents, and the other stretched his hand and stayed quiet like we were to read his mind or something.

After having ding the card over to him, we were then let into a bug empty hall where we took the seats laid out for us.

His stench is one that can't be forgotten as he always smells like a wet dog, almost like a rogue but just fancier.

I could hear his footsteps alone with the others walking through the long empty hall. The council has changed since we have last been here.

Before there was brown walls znd old paintings now the walls are white and filled with paintings from through out the years, a huge chandler now hangs in the middle of the open floor and a receptionist sits on a chair with a big oak table infront of her.

we waited patiently till the devil himself arrived dressed in his crisp read suite and slicked back hair.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of the Twin Alphas ?"

He smiles and places his delicate hands in front of him in a clasp.

"We request an audience with you, as our pack is under attack."

My father said.

"Hmmmm.. I seem to have remembered you filed for independence after our last meeting."

He smiled, and I wanted nothing more but to smack that grin from his face.

"We know, but Qe are still under the law of the wolf, and the law states no qolf should start a war with another if they do. They risk imprisonment."

"That is correct."

"Well, another Alpha by the name of Kane started a war, and we would like for you to do something about it."

"Is that so?"

"Yes, that is so."

"Guve me, your hands let me have a look see."

Hermine has the gift of seeing the past, he see what happened and nothing more, and that's why Travis is hesitant to give him his hand.

"You will see nothing because I'm not the one that was attacked."
Travis said.

"Then you xome with no proof, don't allow me to look and expect for me to help you."

He chuckles, and I want nothing more but to bash his head in.

"Take my hand and sew for yourself."

My father places his hand in Hermines, and after a split second, Hermines eyes open, and he lets go.

"Hmm... I see things aren't sun shine and rainbows with this big happy family right now. Love is a hell of a thing, wouldn't you say?"

He looks at dad and then at us.

"Unfortunately, I can't help you. You walk with no evidence, and I saw nothing but an injured male wolf and heard nothing but a name. How am I to know this? Alpha Kane really attacked first."

Hermine asked.

"Carter will see you out."

Hermine said before turning to walk away, UT was stopped when a loud roar echoed around the empty hallway.

"Your dog dear barks in a scared place, arrest the mut."

Fear took over as I watched Hermines mean rush towards Travis, trying to get him in cuffs. My father and mother began begging for them to let him go, but they weren't budging.

So I got down on my knees and did something I never thought I would do in a million years.

"Please, let my brother go. He made a mistake. He is just worried for his pack, Lord Hermine."

Tye words left a bad taste in my mouth, but there was no other way other than stroking his ego.

"Let him go."
Hermine said, and they dropped my brother like a pag of old potatoes, Hermine stretched his hand out to me, and I kissed it before fighting with myself on the inside.

"Leave and don't come back, and don't you forget you're still under the wolf's law. Don't go starting wars to get thrown in prison. "

I grab Travis from the floor, and we leave. When we got back to the hotel, mom and dad were passed, and so was I. What good does he think he would be behind bars.

"What the heck, Travis?"

I asked.

"I know, I know I'm sorry he just always seems to get under my skin with his egotistical behavior."

"I understand, trust me, I understand, but what good would you be behind bars."

"Look, I'm sorry, ok, I'm sorry, but I told the idiot he wouldn't see anything, and he still insisted."

"He wasn't going to help us from the start. He just tagged us along for his own little game."

I said.

"So what are we going to do now? The council wouldn't help. We can't start a war, and it would take months, and we are not going into business with him."

Travis says, and I couldn't agree with him more.

"We wait, we wait to see if he attacks, and if he does, we attack also, we try our hardest to catch one of his men and request an audience with the high council judge."

I say.

"That sounds like a plan and a good one at that."
Travis says.

Once we finished talking out our plan I had another idea that I wanted to speak to Travis about, im not sure how he is going to react but if he agrees we just might be able to catch him before he stricks

"Speak, I'm listening. What is it? What do you have in mind."

He asked.

"Sitara, how about we use her gift to our advantage. we let her meet Kane. touch him, and maybe she could see what he is up to and when he would strick next."

"What the heck are you crazy man, Sitara hasn't even had her first shift yet. What if something happens to her?"

"We would be with her. Maybe we could go just happen to be at his favorite coffee shop and introduce them, or she bumps into him spilling her coffee... something like that."

He foes silent for a moment.

"ok, but only if she is ok with it. If she isn't, we find another way."
