Chapter 68

“I lied.” I shrugged.

“You promised.” He whimpered as he grabbed the back of his neck.

“I didn’t promise!” I argued, “I’d never make a promise I wouldn't keep!” I added, flicking his ear.

He glared at me longingly before flicking my ear back. I frowned and flicked his forehead. He gritted his teeth and flicked my nose. Scowling, I punched his shoulder.

“You’re so lucky you’re a girl!” He yelled, poking my forehead, hard, “If you weren’t, I’d kick you in the nuts!” He added

I punched his stomach and he doubled over in pain, “Don’t mess with me, Kid.”

I flounced over to Kaden and elegantly sat myself in his lap. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer.

“Where are we going tonight?” I asked casually.

He smirked, “Surprise.”

“I HATE surprises! Just tell me.” I groaned.

“Start liking them.” He chuckled, leaning back.

“I will never like surprises.”

“Too bad.”

I glared and turned forward on his lap. He laughed and tightened his arms around my waist.

“Get off me.” I pouted.

“You’re on my lap.” He pointed out the obvious.

“Get me off you.” I rolled my eyes stupidly at him.

“I’m good.” He breathed out lustily.

Glaring, I grabbed a cookie and slowly put it in my mouth. Kaden laughed and said, “You’re so weird.”

“I know.” I nodded, chewing my cookie slowly.

He shook his fat head and grabbed one of my cookies as well, quickly munching on it before I could react. There was a loud knock at the door before I could fathom what to say.

“I’ll get it!” I yelled, struggling to get out of Kaden's arms.

Kaden laughed and tightened his hold on me as he walked us to the door.

He pulled the door open and a girl with dark brown hair and hazel eyes came into view.

“Kaden?” She asked hesitantly as she curled her hands around her stomach.

I looked down and saw that she was pregnant, “Who are you?” I asked her softly and politely.

She glared at me in return for my kindness, “His girlfriend.”

I raised my brows in amusement, “Really now?”

She nodded and looked at Kaden, “Can I talk to you? Alone.”

“Katy. It’s so not nice to see you.” Kaden smiled politely, “What are you doing here?” He practically growled as he pulled me closer to his chest

“Can we not talk about this with her here?” She sneered.

“No. We can talk about this with my mate here.” Kaden stressed on the 'mate'.

She rolled her eyes, “Whatever. I’m pregnant.”

Kaden laughed, “I noticed. You’re huge.”

“You’re the father.” She said flatly.

I stared at her, “What exactly is going on in the world today?!”

“Who sent you here?” Kaden growled lowly that it sounded like a grumble.

“Your baby in my womb did.” She said sarcastically, “Look. You may have a mate now but this is your baby and you’re going to take care of this baby.” She said sternly.

I got out of his arms immediately, “He’s not taking care of a thing that doesn't exist, bitch. Now get the fuck outta here!” I smiled kindly, slamming the door in her face.

I turned around and smiled at Kaden before walking up the stairs. Kaden followed me silently.

I pushed the bedroom door open and plopped onto the bed, sighing while Kaden laid beside me and pulled me to his chest.

“She wasn’t really pregnant.” I muttered, wrapping my arms around his torso.

He laughed, “I don’t think Alyssa was either.”

“Melissa.” I corrected the dummy.

“Same difference.” He shrugged, resting his head on mine.

I smiled, “I’m tired.”

“Go to sleep.” He whispered.

I nodded, “Love you.”

“I love you too.” I heard him say before I slipped into a dreamless state.

Kaden’s POV

As soon as Cora was asleep I slipped out of her arms and got up, silently walking over to the door and walking out.

I ran down the stairs and into the living room. Everyone turned to me and stared.

“What?” I asked, looking over my body. Was I not wearing pants or something?

“Another female came claiming you’re the dad of her rodent.” Jimmy shrugged like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

I sighed, “I don’t know where they’re all coming from.”

My Dad shrugged, “Whatever. It’s not like you’re really the father.”

“Thank God for that. All the girls I’ve slept with were ugly whores.” I said carelessly as I plopped down beside Monroe.

Ty laughed, “I know! Did you see Alyssa?!”

“Her name was Melissa.” Caroline said from Jake’s side.

“Who cares?” Monroe and I glanced at her before we looked back at each other.

“Yeah, man. She had a whole makeup shop on her face.” I smirked.

Jacob laughed, “That was a good one.”

Ty and I laughed alongside him.

“And did you see how short her skirt was? It was almost invisible. I thought girls had more class than that. I swear, if my mate is a slut, she’s definitely going to die.” Monroe said in all seriousness.

Everybody immediately turned to look at him strangely. Monroe was such a strange person.

“Anyway, that girl that came to the door a minute ago was a hot mess. She was lowkey hot but her coming to you to pin a fake pregnancy on you was just disgusting.” Stephen frowned in disgust.

"She wasn't that hot. She was just a slut. I think I agree with Ty on his slut mate point!" Denver exclaimed.

Ty laughed and buttressed his point, “Exactly! Who would want their mate when they've already been with countless people before you?”

That kind of hit home. I’ve been with hundreds of girls. Would Cora still want me if she knew just how many girls I'd had sex with?

Gabe noticed my change in attitude, “She knows and she loves you that way, idiot.”

He’s like a mind reader or something. I swear.

I nodded and looked away from his intense grey eyes. Ever since we were kids, he was always the quiet and mature one. Monroe was the same, but replace quiet for playful, unserious and loud. Stephen is in-between. A little bit of both.

“I’m not a mind reader.” Denver chuckled.

“Because knowing what I just thought makes me think otherwise.” I said sarcastically.

He laughed and stood up. He ran upstairs and I heard his bedroom door shut.

“Jimmy!” I heard someone yell.

I looked over and saw Jimmy pulling Kyle's hair. Something is wrong with that kid. He’s definitely not normal; defected or something. Honestly, I would never say anything about it to Cora but that kid is awfully weird and hyper.

“Cora!” Kyle yelled, flailing his arms, “Help me!”

Rick started laughing, “I feel bad for you, Ky.”

“Why?! Ky Ky loves me!” Jimmy smirked at Rick.

“I really don’t.” Kyle muttered.

Jimmy looked at him with hurt eyes, “What?”

Tears shone brightly in Jimmy’s eyes and I don’t think they were fake. Jimmy jumped off Kyle's thighs and ran upstairs, with tears running down his face slowly.

Talia sighed, “Nice going, Kay.”

“What did you do to him?!” I heard Cora’s voice yell.

I looked over and saw her. She was furious. I'd never seen that look in her eyes except for when dren was hit by the seers.

Kyle's eyes widened immediately, “Huh?”

“Jimmy is crying in there saying you don’t love him. What. Did. You. Do?” She said in a deathly low voice

Kyle visibly whimpered, “Nothing!”

“Go tell him you were kidding.” She growled angrily. Her eyes were filled with rage and turned black and she clenched her fist.

“Dude! Your eyes are black!” Rick grinned with excitement in his eyes, he was fascinated by her eyes but he probably didn't know it was rage.

Cora’s eyes immediately went back to normal and she turned away from us, “Just apologize.”

She immediately ran up the stairs angrily. What the hell? I was left there wondering what the hell just happened.

Jimmy’s POV

He said he doesn’t love me. Big brothers are supposed to love their little brother, right? Wasn't that how it worked? Talk about unconditional love, right?

“Jimmy, it’s okay.” Cora cooed comfortingly.

“But what if he wasn’t lying? What if he really doesn’t love me? A-and I’m a bad little brother?” I cried into her shoulder.

She rubbed my back softly, “He was just kidding, Jim. He loves you. You’re his little brother.”

I sniffed, “B-but then why did he say he didn’t? Am I that annoying?”

“Don't mind Kyle, he's just a jerk sometimes.” She growled.

I smiled a little and pulled back. She smiled at me and wiped my tears. Leaning forward, she kissed my forehead.

“I love you, Jimmy, a lot.” She whispered.

I beamed at her, “I love you too, big sister!”

She laughed, “I missed you so much.”

“I missed you more!” I happily yelped, throwing my arms around her neck.

Someone knocked on the door and I heard the all too familiar voice call out, “Jim?”

I froze at the sound of my big brother's voice, “Huh?”

“Can I talk to you?” He asked apologetically.
