Hades went to see the newly found dead body. Upon getting closer, he saw the dead body of an 18-year-old guy. An arrow slack was found on his back. It seemed like he was the guy who was in charge of killing him. However, he was dead and Hades was pretty much sure that someone had taken his life to cover his crime.

Hades ordered coldly, glaring down intensely at the lying body,
" Find out about his whereabouts. He must have a pack or family at least."

The guards noted down his order and dragged the body out of his sight. As the guards left, Cohen entered the spot with a flustered face. When Hades saw him, he asked with a frown,
" What happened to your face?"

Cohen was dumbstruck. The feeling was very similar like he had been violated. No matter how many times, he splashed cold water on his lips, it felt like her touch was still there. Jerking those impure thoughts away, Cohen mumbled shyly, avoiding eye contact with the king,
" Nothing.. I..I am just exhausted after training."

Hades furrowed tightly but didn't nag him anymore. After a soft sigh, he ordered Cohen who was still lost in his thoughts,
" Bring all the best healers of our kingdom tomorrow. I want them to check, Edwina. Her wound isn't too light."

Cohen hummed in response. However, the question about how Hades was actually treating Edwina now came to his mind several times.

Which prisoner gets so much well-treatment?

The following day, Hades left Red Darkling very early in the morning. A feud occurred between two packs and he had to make a sudden visit there. Before leaving, he strictly instructed his guards to continue with the investigation about the mysterious guy with arrows last night. Cohen was in charge entirely.

That evening, Cohen was instructing some maids when the head guard in the investigation dashed into the castle. After bowing at the beta, he said with a dark face,
" Beta! We have found out the truth."

Cohen dismissed the maids quickly, turned around to put his attention on the guard,
" Say, what did you find out?"

The guard seemed hesitant to tell the truth. After waiting for a while, he blurted tightening his brows together,
" That guy..he..he is from The Moon Eyed Pack. It looks like someone had hired him to do the attack. "

Cohen was too shocked to respond to anything. He didn't expect that Edwina's pack would plot something like this as their Alpha was still captive. Cohen didn't even know how to inform Hades about the truth behind the attack.

He was in a dilemma for a while. However, a familiar voice erupted from his back, stunning the guard and Cohen,
" WHAT??? THE MOON EYED PACK DID THIS TO MY KING?"

Angelina's tone sounded harsh, her gaze turning fiery with rage. She stopped, holding the railings over the stairs. Cohen's face fell further as he wanted to keep it confidential. Now, it seemed impossible.

Cohen tried to calm down the atmosphere politely,
" We aren't very sure, Mistress. Let's wait for the King's return."

Angelina's voice broke in, sounding angry,
" NO, WE CAN'T!! For how long are we going to torture this enemy of ours, Cohen? His Highness is forgetting the moral values of a captive. I believe that she has forgotten her place in Red Darkling. Since Hades can't fix her, I will teach her how to become a slave to the Royals. No one can stop me today. How dare she live a fairytale life after attacking the king with her pack?"

Before Cohen could stop her, Angelina dashed upstairs to find Edwina, sleeping in her room. Without knocking, she barged into the room to grab Edwina by her hair. Jolting in fear, Edwina woke up from her sleep in puzzlement. Before she could know what was happening, Angelina started dragging her injured body harshly from the bed.

" GET OUT!! GET OUT OF THIS ROOM!"

Edwina cried out painfully, asked repeatedly,
" What did I do? Mistress! You are hurting me!! Ah.. Please..At least tell me.."

Angelina said nothing as she kept dragging her, on her knees and hands to pull her down the stairs. Tears stung in Edwina's eyes. It was painful and unbearable as Angelina was using extreme force. Because of her injuries, she had lost much strength and would take time to regain it.

Cohen watched the whole scene in horror and bit his tongue hard. He would have been more careful before talking. Angelina threw Edwina in the center of the hallway, hearing a loud cry coming out of her mouth. Edwina's head hit the ground, bleeding a little.

Angelina's voice continued to bark around the room, dripping with hatred and anger for Edwina,
" You are the one behind this attack, aren't you? Today, I will teach you how to become a slave to the Royals. How dare you eat our food and betray us?"

Edwina's voice cracked between, blurting out furiously,
" You are blindly accusing me. I haven't done anything."

Angelina let out a deep laugh, sneered before shouting,
" Do you think that I am a fool to believe you? Cohen got all the evidence about your pack. You are responsible for this attack and I will make sure that you no longer dare to betray us."

Angelina's voice and actions were very aggressive today. It sounded like she was spitting all her hidden anger today. Watching the tense atmosphere, Cohen tried to stop Angelina, keeping his words respectful,
" Mistress! I think you should wait for the king. It's not appropriate to touch his Mistress out of nowhere. We can arrange the punishment later after he judges."

Angelina wasn't willing to let go of this opportunity. After a long time, she had this chance to avenge Edwina for all the mistreatment that she had suffered upon her arrival. Angelina retorted in a sharp and commanding voice,
" I am the first Mistress of Hades Lysander. Do you think that I don't know how to punish a betrayer, Beta Cohen?"

Cohen was wordless in her presence. After the queen, the most powerful status that the castle had was the first Mistress which definitely belonged to Angelina. How dare he rebuke her in front of her?

Helpless, Cohen stepped out and let her do whatever she wanted. Angelina smirked secretly, shouted giving her order to the maids,
" Maids!! Bring her the slave collar! I want to see her in the dress of a slave. Then, she will remember her position."

Somewhere in the kingdom, Ace wiped the blood from his mouth after he was done, eating his hunt. Right after he came out of the forest, Axel stopped him in his path and warned him seriously,
" Stop killing the black tigers. You know that it's restricted."

Ace growled in response, watching around closely,
" STOP saying like that! I want to gain more power to stand beside Edwina. Do you understand? I want to become powerful like an Alpha."

Axel fell silent without saying anything. He had been staying with his brother for days and had a feeling that his obsession with power was getting stronger every day. Erasing the topic from his mind, Axel said that he had to say,
" I came to tell you that your plan about protests has failed again."

Ace shouted back in disbelief, darkening his eyes,
" WHAT??"

Axel continued, seeming suspicious,
" Yes! They had to return from the main gate after.. after... your mate took an arrow for the king. She is saving him, brother. Do you understand the meaning?"

Ace fell in dead silence. After a moment, he began to laugh maniacally, shaking his head in disbelief,
" Im.. impossible..Edwina will never betray me...She..has her reasons obviously. Maybe, she wants to get on his good side so that she can kill him on time. I gave her the death poison already. She will definitely use it."

Though Axel said nothing in words, he had a bad feeling about the relationship between the king and Edwina. Edwina was a stubborn, hot-blooded helper. Saving her enemy's life was a little out of her character unless she was in love.

Putting the negative thoughts away, Axel tapped on his brother's shoulders softly to say,
" Brother! If you don't get angry..Can I suggest something? In that way, you will be at peace here."

Ace looked up at him questioning. Narrowing his eyes, Axel suggested to him in a deep, serious voice,
" Meet Alpha Edwina as soon as possible and mark her officially. I think it's the right time for her should carry your mark. At least, other wolves wouldn't lust after her if she becomes your mate in front of the moon goddess."

Ace couldn't understand why his brother suddenly had this idea but the idea seemed promising. With
the king always around Edwina, he felt uncomfortable somewhere. Right..He should mark her as his soon..
