Unfortunately, Axel was desperate to leave the dungeon as well. He knew that Ace would be worrying about him if he spent more days in this dungeon. Hence, he believed Angelina's words blindly. Besides, he was unaware of the jealous enemies of Edwina in this castle. Axel never imagined that someone had any intention to frame Edwina this way. Firstly, she was imprisoned here. Secondly, Edwina wasn't an important subject to the king. In his hurry to leave Red Darkling, Axel didn't even bother to look at the letter.

As promised, Angelina guided him to the back garden, leading him into a secret path that only stuff from Red Darkling Castle. Every castle has a secret door to use in an emergency. Red Darkling wasn't exceptional except for the fact that Angelina had revealed it to an outsider which could be dangerous for the Royal Pack, The Night Howlers.

Right before passing through the secret door, Axel decided to shift into his human form to thank Angelina properly. Angelina's eyes popped out in disbelief, staring at his muscular figure. It was a pity that he was younger than her in age. Axel bowed at her slightly, thanking her politely,
" I am grateful for your help. Please tell Alpha Edwina that we will be back to take her back."

After his words, Axel's blue wolf once again appeared, then began to run into the dark woods. A wicked smile plastered on Angelina's lips after his run. She locked the door again and saw her maid, standing nearby with an expression of worry. Watching her lady getting outside, the maid asked, staring down at her grip,
" Mistress, the letter.. Don't you want to show it to the king?"

Angelina clicked her tongue out dramatically, and added with a dark, mysterious chuckle,
"Oops! I lost it in the dungeon!"

The Moon Gala Night was going in full swing. More guests appeared to join the grand event, and some used this opportunity to mend their bonds with other packs or kingdoms. By the quality time they spent in the Gala, many people had already noticed Edwina's presence. Gossip spread like wildfire among the people from different kingdoms. As the news of Edwina's abduction by King Hades was kept hidden, everyone wasn't sure of their relationship. Furthermore, Edwina was dressed nicely, not like a slave or a woman in abduction. Naturally, everyone had their doubts. Some even claimed that she had become a bed warmer for Hades as soon as she came to Red Darkling. As these rumors kept circling, no one wanted to talk to Edwina. Thereafter, she was left all alone in a corner.

Edwina appreciated Hades's company today. She understood that he was a king and had other things to do except release her boredom. She stayed in a corner, holding a glass of expensive wine. Her eyes were stuck on a figure, walking towards Hades with a devilish smirk.

" Arrax!", Hades exclaimed, hugging the blond-haired guy in a bear hug. The scene caused an eye-sore to some people who expected them to be rivals but they turned out to be good friends.

Arrax Domineco Keller returned Hades a big smile, pushing his curls to the other side. Arrax teased, allowing his eyes to fall on Edwina in the distance,
" I thought, you would be coming alone, bro. Looks like, you are too fast in finding your dessert."

Edwina rolled his eyes and watched his unbuttoned shirt through the coat. Edwina scoffed, smacking his chest playfully,
" Don't think that everyone is like you. Goddess, you don't even restrain yourself in an event. Button your clothes."

Arrax gave him a cheeky smile and started buttoning his shirt under everyone's distasteful eyes. His narcissistic reply never changed,
" What can I do? I am too handsome!"

Edwina was about to spit something worse but Kina appeared between them, began to drag Silas literally,
" Forget about this playboy, Hades. Let's get on the dance floor. Come!"

She didn't even give Hades time to give his response, pushing him onto the dance floor to dance as a couple.

" Aren't you joining him?", A cold, intimidating voice snapped Edwina out of her daze. Her eyes were stuck on Kina and Hades, dancing together. They looked so good together, dancing and laughing at each other's jokes always. Despite her pure hatred for the king, the sight didn't sit well in her heart. A strange uncomfortable feeling coursed through her heart like venom. She wished that she were there except for Kina.

Edwina jerked off slightly and looked up to find the man who hugged Hades, standing nearby. She squeezed past him with a small smile, wondering about his identity ever since his powerful presence joined the crowd. Edwina pursed her lips calmly, trying to sound as casual as possible,
" No..I am just bad at dancing.."

She nibbled the bottom of her lips uncomfortably. Arrax let out a low chuckle at her response and went over to sit next to her. Edwina moved away slightly to give him space.

Arrax kept sipping his beer, his eyes following a beautiful figure in the crowd,
" You two are together? "

Edwina shook her head instantly, blurted kind of impatiently,
" No..I..just agreed to become his companion..May I know who you are? Pardon but I had never seen you before."

Arrax took his own time to respond to her question. Keeping his eyes stuck on the moving figure in the distance crowd, he replied casually,
" Arrax Domineco Keller, the king of Lycans. And you??"

Edwina's eyes dilated in disbelief and shock. She was talking to the infamous king, Arrax like a commoner. Gulping hard, she quickly pulled her eyes down to reply respectfully,
" Pardon me, Your Highness! I..I didn't recognize you...I am Edwina Rookwood, the daughter of Moon Eyed Pack."

Arrax's eyes flashed in surprise as he didn't expect Hades to take his prisoner with him to the Moon Gala. He replied without holding back the surprise,
" Damn! You are the girl about whom he had rumoured. Now, I am more sure that you two have something going on."

Edwina opened her mouth once again to clarify that she and Hades had no special bond between them,
" You are mistaken. He is.. just my Master for now.. Besides, I don't have such feelings for him."

Arrax laughed throwing his head back sarcastically. Licking the corner of his wet lips, he replied standing up from the couch,
" Every love is forbidden until you have a taste of it. Forbidden fruits taste the best, Alpha Edwina. It was a pleasure to meet you."

More time passed after Edwina was left alone. Hades didn't return from the dance floor. Kina kept him busy either talking or dancing like a romantic couple. Edwina tried to divert her attention from them and pulled her eyes over the crowd to observe them. Many of them entered wearing theme masks. She wondered why Hades didn't ask her to wear a mask like them.

" Wow! They look like a match made in heaven together!", one of the prominent ladies pointed at Kina and Hades, laughing together. Her words didn't catch Edwina's attention. She swallowed the painful lump in her throat and excused herself from there to find the bathroom.

Hoping that some cold water would wipe her discomfort feelings away, Edwina stepped out for the bathroom, leading far away from the hallway. After she walked several steps away from the crowd, a feeling of being watched crossed her mind.

She stopped, holding the corner of her dress, and whipped her head back. Finding nothing except the low tune of raw leaves, shaking against the air, she started her walk for the bathroom again. Before pushing the bathroom door open, a black figure appeared behind the pillar, watching her carefully.

This time, Edwina felt the presence strongly. Her hands withdrew from holding the knob. She turned around vigorously and shouted through her ragged breathing,
" Who the fuck is playing with me? Come out! I said, Come out! NOW!"

She screamed from her desperation and anger. On one hand, she was angry at herself for getting jealous of Kina and Hades, dancing together. On the other hand, this absurd feeling of being watched was killing her mind. She gritted her teeth in frustration, waiting for the shadow to come in front light but nothing happened once again.

Edwina let out a sigh, blaming herself telling her that she was getting mad probably. As soon as she pushed the bathroom door open slightly, a pair of strong arms grabbed her from back. Then, within a few seconds, she was pushed inside the bathroom, and a pair of possessive lips claimed her painted lips without giving her any chance to speak.
