ALPHA JAKE’S POV
I found her in the kitchen and when I did, I stopped by the entrance to gaze at her and admire her unquenchable beauty. She is mine and I am the happiest man having her to myself.
I stood staring at her rare beauty for a long time but she was busy with cooking and so was not aware of my presence. The servants that were in the kitchen with her saw me, but I gave them a sign not to say a word. After a while, I signal for all the servants and they did so without her noticing.
“Tabitha, please pass me the washed vegetables” she ordered.
I went for the vegetables and handed them over to her. She poured some into the cooking pot and handed the rest back to me without turning to look at my face. I collected it and returned it back to the table.
“Diana” she called.
When she did not get any response, she said. “Tabitha hand me those onions, I wonder where Diana had gone to”
I quickly went for the tray containing the sliced onions and gave it to her. she collected it and poured everything into the pot.
“We have to be fast with this. I will like my husband’s meal to be ready by the time he returns” she said. “I want to make something really special for him this morning and I am sure he will love this. What do you think, Tabitha?” she asked.
Tabitha is not here and I am the only one with her and I did not say anything or else she would detect my voice.
When she was getting no reply, she asked. “And why has everyone become silent all of a sudden?”
She turned and realized that I was the only one in the kitchen with her. “Alpha” she murmured. “Where have they gone to?” she demanded.
“I instructed them to leave. I will like to stay here alone with you and watch you cook for me” I replied.
I walked close to her and planted a kiss on her lips.
“You never stop amazing me,” she said. “And how am I supposed to get help around here?” she asked.
“And that is why I am here, to help you make a sumptuous meal, or does the luna feel that I am not worthy to be in her kitchen?” I responded.
“Far from that, alpha. But what will people say, that the alpha cooked his own meal?” she asked.
“With you, I don’t care what people say. If my luna can enter the kitchen, then so can I. Have you not heard that I am a great cook?” I replied.
“A great cook, you truly are one of a kind” she chuckled.
“Then you must leave while I continue with the cooking. Step aside and see what I can do with a well-sharpened knife and an amazing spoon” I replied.
“Wow,” she exclaimed. “But there is no way that I will let that happen, not today that I want to make something yummy for you” she refused.
“Okay then. I have to do it this way. I request that my luna should allow me to take over the cooking from her” I ordered.
“Must you ply that route?” she exclaimed.
I laughed. “That is because it is the only way that I can prove my cooking skills to you. If I don’t do it that way, I know there is no way you will allow me to cook” I replied.
“Please ask for guidance if you need any” she pleaded as she stepped away.
“Do I smell some doubt, my lady?” I asked.
“Okay, maybe I should just stand and watch” she responded.
I could see that she was not comfortable with the arrangement. But nevertheless, I intend to wow her with my food as she has not seen anything yet.

SCARLET’S POV
I waited for him to have the first taste of his food. I must commend the appearance of the food, it looks so inviting. But then, I cannot say the same for the taste.
Alpha Jake does not strike me as someone that would be keen on kitchen affairs, let alone be a mastery of it. I watched him cook and to say that I was impressed would be an understatement. I was intrigued by his mastery of kitchen technicalities.
But today is the first time that I was hearing him say something about knowing how to cook. At a point, I had even doubted that he knows the way to the kitchen. So I was a little skeptical about eating the food before me.
“You can eat,” he said after he took the first spoon.
I only smiled at him and ran my fork through the food.
“I promise you will love it. Take a taste and tell me what you think” he requested.
I hesitated for a while and then reluctantly, I took barely a spoonful and slowly moved it to my mouth.
“I told you, you are going to love it” he smiled as he watched me bring the spoon closer to my mouth.
The spoon finally landed in my mouth and I got the taste of the food. It was sumptuous. The taste of the food was even better than its appearance.
I closed my eyes as I devoured the food in my mouth. I dipped my spoon into my plate and took another food, this time fuller than the first, and practically threw it into my mouth.
“And how is it, luna?” he asked.
He had been watching me the whole time and had said nothing.
“This is tantalizing” I replied with a filled mouth.
“Now even you have confessed to the excellency of my food” he bragged.
“Seriously, I never knew you know anything about cooking. You know I could use your recipe” I said after I had swallowed the food in my mouth.
“You are most welcome, ma’am. But since you doubted me, you must have to pay to get my recipe” he replied.
“Oh my goodness” I exclaimed as I took in another spoon of food. “Name your price, Jake, this lady here will pay anything for it,” I offered.
“You are my price, Scar. Gave yourself wholly to me and I will give you my all” he responded.
“You have me, and you have my all,” I said.
“Then ask whatever it is that you so desire from me and I will gladly give them to you” he replied.
I smiled at him and he smiled back. He has given me all that I could ever dream of and I can’t think of anything that I was lacking.
“You have given me the world, my alpha, you have given me more than I could ever ask for” I replied.
“And that reminds me. I have a hang out with my boys, alphas from the brother Packs. I would like that you are there with me. You know they are my friends, and I would like you to meet them” he said.
I was excited at the news at first until I remembered that meeting his friends would entail coming into contact with alpha Ray. This made me become a bit nervous and he noticed it.
“Is anything the matter, my luna?” he asked.
“Not really, alpha. I would like to know the time for the meeting?” I requested.
“Tonight, the meeting would be tonight” he replied.
“Oh no, then that won’t be possible. I’ve got a whole lot lined up for today and I did not plan to go out” I explained. But where would the meeting take place, is it here?” I inquired.
“No, it will be in your Pack. We are hosted by alpha Fred. But I would understand if you cannot make it. You can always meet them some other time anyways” he said.
I smiled in response and he smile back.
ALPHA JAKE’S POV
“Is anything the matter, my luna?” I inquired.
I saw how nervous my request made her. I should have known that she will not like to be in that meeting because of alpha Ray, her ex-lover. That is okay with me, I am not yet ready for them to meet yet.
“Not really, alpha. I would like to know the time for the meeting?” she replied.
“Tonight, the meeting would be tonight” I informed her.
“Oh no, then that won’t be possible. I’ve got a whole lot lined up for today and I did not plan to go out” I explained. But where would the meeting take place, is it here?” she replied.
“No, it will be in your Pack. We are hosted by alpha Fred. But I would understand if you cannot make it. You can always meet them some other time anyways” I said.
There was no need to drag this topic. I understand her plight and her reason for not wanting to go with me and I support her in this. And it gladdens my heart to know that she wants nothing to do with him anymore as she has eyes only for me. Delighted with this realization, I looked at her and smiled.
