“Mmmmm…” She exclaimed and unluckily, she fell on Mia who ended up on the floor groaning in pain.
Eunice had weight and there was no way Mia would catch her.
“Are you alright?” She quickly got up from Mia, but the bruises on Mia's body couldn't be hidden. Her body turned red.
“I'm alright.” Mia replied, with her face still on the ground.
“I'm sorry, this is all my fault.” Eunice's voice had a sad tone to it. She thought Mia would really be able to catch her.
“No, sweetheart, it's not your fault.” Mia raised her face and a sweet smile was on her lips.
She raised her hand towards Eunice's cheek when the guards against earlier came. They heard sounds and came to check it out, only to see their boss's daughter touching her arm. They thought Mia had sneaked in to hurt the girl.
“You!” The one who looked like the head of the guards came to them, and Eunice looked scared of what they might do.
“Didn't we tell you to stay away?” The guard took off his glasses and his eyes glared at Mia, “Do you want to be locked up in prison?” He yelled, causing Mia to flinch.
“Don't do that to her, she helped…” Eunice wanted to finish her statements when they cut her short.
“Take the little boss inside.” His words interrupted hers and just as he said, she was carried out.
“No, I have a say on this, she was trying to…” before she could complete her statement, she was pulled away by the bodyguard, “No, she's a good person, she's…” she was pulled away from Mia's sight.
“And you, leave before I call the police. Leave from here now!” His words caused Mia to jolt up from the ground, holding on to her hurt arm.
She dusted her clothes and, without wasting time, left the house. And went out. It was embarrassing how the security followed her outside and warned her.
“Why is my princess frowning?” Mark asked when Eunice walked into the house.
“It's just that…” She stopped to see who was smiling at her, “Who's this?” She pointed to the nice-looking lady who sat near her father.
“Well, if you say there's really nothing, I was to introduce you to your new nanny. I will ask the rest to leave.”
“What?! Daddy no.” She showed disapproval by her looks.
“Common baby girl, she's nice, and she's kind too.” Mark tried to convince her.
“Let me handle it, Mr. Mark.” The nanny uttered and Mark gave a nod as an approval for her to approach Eunice.
“Baby girl, I know you don't know me, but we can be friends.” She smiled, moving to crouch down close to Eunice.
“I would rather not be friends with you.” Eunice crossed her arms and moved to her dad, “Let's talk in private.” She said and also noticed the facial expression of the lady, but, she didn't care.
Eunice took him a bit further, so the lady wouldn't hear all she had to say.
“What's wrong honey?” Mark noticing his daughter's worried look caused for concern.
“I don't want her for a nanny.” She blurted out, and Mark looked even more confused.
“Why do you not like her?” He asked.
“Not like I hate her or anything…. I… I hurt someone really bad.” She started sobbing and that's when he saw scratches on her body.
“What happened?” He started scanning her.
“Promise not to get mad at me.” She said with pleading eyes.
“I promise…. You can go on. Did someone hurt you?” He asked.
“I fell from a tree behind the house and was caught by a lady. She looked in pain before taken away.” Eunice said as tears formed in her eyes.
He was so careful with his daughter, and hearing that she fell from a tree made him so worried.
“What?! You did what?” His eyes widened in shock.
“You said you wouldn't get angry, dad.” Eunice spoke in a sad voice.
“I'm not angry, I'm only being worried.” He said, and she continued.
“ I wanted to see who the crowd outside. I'm sorry. I let my curiosity get the best of me… One of the applicants noticed and came to my rescue. I fell in her.” Her eyes got tears.
Mark kept quiet. He took in a deep breath and then let out a sigh of frustration.
“How are you?” He checked her body again, “How is she?” He finally asked.
“I don't know, dad. She was groaning in pain when the security men caught her and sent her away… I like her, she saved my life.” Eunice gazed at her father with puppy eyes.
“Oh my God. She might be hurt or something… I will ask the security to search for her. But are you sure you don't want the lady I picked?” Mark asked.
“Yes dad. Ask the guards to find her, she needs to be treated too.” She whined about it.
“I will treat the scratches you have..... It's okay.” He hugged his daughter tightly. He would lose it if anything was to happen to the one thing that was keeping him stable.
“Do you feel any pain inside your body?” He pulled out of the hug to look deeply into her eyes.
“No, dad, you keep worrying about me when the person you should worry about is the lady who saved me.” She pouted her lips.
“I'm sorry, baby.” His hands brushed through her hair.
“Okay dad. She did sustain a few bruises because she let me fall on her. I feel bad, and she left her application just to save me.” Eunice still had a sad expression.
“Do you know where she is?” Mark asked, rushing. That was the exact kind of person he needed to be his daughter's nanny.
“No dad, the guards didn't even let me talk, they dragged me here, and I guess they chased her away because I heard she sneaked in.” Eunice responded.
“Tyler, would you please help me send it to the head of the guards?” He asked the butler, who went directly, “Do you know her name?” He asked his daughter.
“Oh no, dad, I forgot to ask her.” Eunice facepalmed herself in pure regret.
“How could you not have asked that baby, remember I always told you to ask for a stranger's name first if they want to be friends?” He spoke with a bit of difficulty.
“Yes, boss, you called.” The head of security came in.
“You chased a woman my daughter told you saved her life, why?” Mark looked furious.
“I'm sorry, sir, we saw her as a threat because she kept walking around the compound. It made us suspicious.” The security man said. He was only doing his job, no strangers were supposed to be allowed.
“Do you remember what she looked like?” Mark asked.
“Not clearly, but I clearly recall her having brown hair.” He spoke with a straight face.
“I don't care, find her before the weekday arrives.” Mark ordered.
Mark asked the lady he picked to leave since his daughter didn't approve of it and the next reaction, left him speechless.
“Screw you and your daughter. She's a little brat…. Wealthy people are their way of treating the less. Just because your daughter says…” Mark's voice interrupted.
“Get this fool out of my sight this minute.” He barked, and the security immediately carried the lady away. Though, she kept cursing while being taken out.
“Baby, I didn't mean for you to hear all that.” Mark apologized to his still shocked daughter.
“Thank God I didn't accept her.” Eunice kept watching the drama outside caused by the crazy lady who would have been her nanny.
“I never saw that coming.” Mark muttered.
“Neither did I.”
“So this is the kind of person i would have left my daughter with.” Mark thought to himself.
He was happy his daughter begged him to change her nanny. He just didn't want to imagine what the lady would have turned his daughter into.
After being humiliated by the security men, Mia left almost immediately as her left hand was aching, and she saw blood stain on her cloth.
She stopped a cab and visited a nearby clinic where her injuries were treated, and her left hand was bandaged. She lied to the nurse treating her that, she fell from a tree.
From the clinic, Mia went straight home and as Jenny opened the door, her lower jaw drop.
“Mia, did you get into a fight?” She managed to ask.
