Chapter 121 Buffet

"Their buffet is pretty good. I kept seeing their place online before."

Alison clung to Catherine's arm and whined, "I want to take a look. Come with me."

Catherine hesitated for a moment. "But we're not staying here."

"Hotels are places where you can stay or eat. As long as you pay, you can go in. Anyway, there's no rule that says you have to book a room to go to a hotel, right?"

Seeing Catherine still hesitating, Alison pulled her inside, "Alright, stop talking so much. This meal is on me."

Catherine didn't have time to refuse and was dragged into the hotel by Alison.

They went up to the third floor—this five-star hotel had 100 floors, with the top 50 floors for accommodation and the bottom 50 floors for dining.

After eating for a while, they went to the restroom.

Catherine touched up her makeup in front of the mirror, applying lipstick to her lips.

Alison looked at her amusedly, "What's the point of touching up your makeup now? The lipstick will all come off when we eat."

Catherine shrugged, checking her makeup in the mirror. It was a rare day for her to wear makeup out. "You don't understand, this lipstick will expire in half a month, and I still have a lot left. If I don't use it up today, I'll be too lazy to use it next time. Letting such an expensive lipstick go to waste would be a waste of money, right?"

"Alright, take your time. I'm heading out." Alison turned to leave and bumped into a familiar figure at the door. She was stunned for a moment.

Did she see it right?

Was that Manuel who just passed by?

What was he doing here?

Manuel turned and went to the restroom next door.

Alison stood at the door for a while, unable to see Manuel, and reluctantly turned back. Just as she was about to tell Catherine, another familiar face approached.

"Isn't this Alison?" A pretty girl in a black and white Chanel dress with reddish-brown hair stood in front of Alison. The girl held a designer bag, looking every bit the socialite.

Alison was also surprised to see her, "Evelyn, you're here for a meal too?"

Evelyn Thomas nodded, "Yes, the restaurant in this five-star hotel is quite good. My parents brought me here for a blind date and specifically chose this hotel."

She looked at Alison curiously, "Are you here for a blind date too?"

"No, I came with my friend. We just finished getting our nails done and came out for a meal." Alison pointed to Catherine in the restroom.

Alison, curious and excited, asked, "You said you're here for a blind date. Are your parents in such a hurry to marry you off? You're only in your twenties, right?"

Evelyn shrugged, looking a bit forlorn, "Yes, they can't wait for me to find a rich husband."

"So, how's your blind date this time? Is he a rich old man?" Alison joked.

"Of course not." Evelyn hesitated, a blush appearing on her face, "Actually, he's quite handsome and about my age. He's rich, nothing bad about that."

Hearing these conditions, Alison was surprised, "If you say he's handsome, he must be really good-looking! Do you have a photo? Let me see."

Evelyn shyly took out her phone and handed it to Alison. As Alison took the phone, she said, "You don't look dissatisfied. I thought your date was ugly, so you were reluctant."

Before Alison could finish her sentence, she stopped abruptly upon seeing the photo.

Evelyn, seemingly unaware of Alison's strange expression, scratched her cheek shyly, "It's not that I don't like him. It's just that he seems a bit hard to handle. You probably know him too, right? His ex-girlfriend's drama was all over our circle. Marrying him might be quite a chaotic life."

Alison stood there stiffly, not speaking for a long time. Evelyn looked at her curiously, "What's wrong? Don't you know the person in the photo? Why aren't you saying anything?"

Alison forced a smile, looking awkward.

She glanced at the photo again and then showed it to Evelyn, asking, "Are you sure your blind date is really Manuel?"

Hearing this name, Catherine, who was touching up her makeup nearby, paused and glanced over. Seeing the photo on Evelyn's phone, Catherine's face turned pale.

Evelyn, still cheerful, said, "Yes, someone as handsome as him, there's no one else in our circle. But my parents really know how to pick, finding someone so hard to control for me. He always looks so cold and aloof, never smiling. Getting him to fall for me will be tough. And he still has feelings for his married ex-girlfriend. Dating him might be quite painful."

"I think it would be very painful." Alison's expression was very stiff. She couldn't help but glance at Catherine's face but knew she couldn't show any unusual behavior now.

Alison pushed Evelyn out the door, "Have you finished in the restroom? Manuel is quite impatient and probably can't stand waiting for girls. If you're done, you should go back quickly before he gets angry."

Evelyn looked puzzled, "No way? Manuel usually seems quite polite and gentlemanly. How could he get angry just because he waited a bit longer? I'm a girl. Even if I redo my makeup in the restroom, he can't say anything."

Catherine walked over at this moment. Alison looked at her nervously.

Catherine knew what she wanted to say and shook her head, "I'm fine."

She smiled at Evelyn, "Congratulations, I hope your blind date goes well."

Evelyn, hearing Catherine's words, felt a bit more favorable towards her, "Thank you. Do you know Manuel too?"

Catherine nodded, her expression indifferent, "Sort of."

Evelyn, seemingly unaware of the bitterness in Catherine's words, said, "So you both know him. That's great. I might be with him in the future."
