Chapter 32 Change an Agent

When she was home, Suzette was coaxing her son to sleep in his room.

He was at the reading age and to reduce his dependence on her, Suzette arranged for a room on his own.

Initially, Lawrence didn't accept it.

After all, he wanted to be with his mother.

But after he was scolded by his little sister, Lawrence decided that he should become more independent.

"Then mommy needs to stay with me until I fall asleep before you leave."

"Okay, quickly sleep."

The kid's sleeping habits had always been pretty good. Lawrence entered into deep sleep after about ten minutes.

And Suzette can go to take a shower and rest.

She still had to work the next day.

Before she slept, her good friend Joyce gave her a call.

"I've settled Lawrence's needs on school. Just treat that person to a meal."

"Thank you so much."

Lawrence was at the Grade 1 age and now that he had been registered for school, she can set her mind at ease to work.

"No need to thank me. We've known each other for so long."

They chatted for a while more before Suzette hung up the call.

The dinner was set at Friday and he will start school the following week. Lawrence will be considered as a late enrollee of his class.

He was naturally intelligent and she wasn't worried about his studies.

This issue had finally been resolved.

In the next few days, Suzette was busy with Ruby. Closer to Friday's event, she received a call from Warren.

"Miss Lam, it's been a long time."

"Director Warren, what made you call me?"

Warren laughed, "Don't you already know? The actress under you, Ruby cleared my audition. Do you have time to meet up? Let's settle the contract."

"No problem."

She was confident about this matter and after receiving Warren's notice, it was cast in stone.

"Lee, afterward get Ruby prepared. We'll have to pay Warren a visit."

Lee nodded excitedly.

She brought Ruby along out of courtesy and this concerned her after all.

So no matter how small, it has to be respected. This was the expectation of the film director.

After a short meeting, the contract was signed and Ruby must have been under Suzette's direction to control her temper, especially when in the public.

And she also became more obedient.

But Suzette knew that all these are superficial and she knew for sure that Ruby hated her very much.

It was because, during the audition, Roderick's attention was on Suzette.

Anyone could see that Ruby likes Roderick, Suzette wasn't a fool.

"Don't think that you are able to secure a role for me and you can flaunt your achievements. It's just a small supporting role. If it's not for Warren's directing abilities, I wouldn't have agreed to come, what a waste of my time."

Even at this point, Ruby despises this role.

In her mind, she should be acting a more direct role which will do more to raise her profile.

She was after all an actress from Sky Royal Entertainment.

Suzette softly sighed and didn't bother about her remarks and pressed the down button of the lift.

When the lift doors opened, a familiar face emerged.

It was Suzanne.

Suzanne obviously saw Suzette and her nemesis, Ruby. This made Suzanne hate Suzette even more.

After five years, her face already has some obvious wrinkles and she didn't progress in the entertainment circle.

In comparison Suzette.

When she left, she didn't take a thing and now, she was now the most famous agent internationally. She can't help but think in a nefarious manner.

Suzette must have slept her way to today's position.

After she imagined her in the worst possible way, Suzanne's mood stabilized.

She said softly, "Aren't you a renowned agent for overseas acting talent? Why do you need to personally take your actress to secure a third-grade role? Looks like your reputation was overblown."

Suzette frowned, "You cleared your audition?"

She didn't bother with Suzanne's sarcasm but placed her attention on another aspect.

Ruby was even more surprised, "You cleared audition? What movie did you audition for?"

Suzanne proudly raised her head, "A mistress. Regardless, it's more prominent than yours."

When Ruby heard that, her smile became a frown and she walked off in her high heels.

She looked extremely upset.

And Suzette didn't react, she held onto the lift without any expressions.

She thought about the audition a few days ago and then smirked.

"So, it's as you said."

"Don't fake that expression. I see that you are not the so-called renowned agent and totally useless." Suzanne was full of sarcasm.

Suzette just smiled but didn't say anything and walked out of the lift.

As she walked past Suzanne, she leaned to her ear and said softly, "I remembered, seeing Petalstar Entertainment's boss, his eyes were looking all over your body."

Suzanne's body stiffened and trembled, she forced herself to calm down, "I don't know what you're talking about."

She entered the lift quickly and repeatedly pressed the close button.

Suzette didn't expose Suzanne.

Such dirty arrangements exist throughout the entertainment industry and she had seen her share when she was overseas.

Even those artists that were under her had encountered these.

If the artist cannot do as she instructs, then she will choose to forgo the artist.

Suzette was unwilling to entertain those unwritten rules and practices. She will break through them by herself.

So she will not say anything about Suzanne's actions.

Except that if she does these things as a married person, then when she becomes famous and was being exposed by someone, then it will ruin her career.

After all, everyone has higher expectations of a woman.

Without thinking more into it, Suzette left the area.

Lee and the driver were waiting outside and Ruby had already sat in the car.

When Suzette entered the car, she still scoffed disrespectfully.

Suzette had enough of this behavior and became upset.

"Speak your mind."

Ruby smacked her hands, "I want to change the agent. I can't stand you anymore. You simply can't value add to my career."

Suzette laughed.

If her overseas artists heard these words, they would all laugh at her.

No one can rise to the top without hard work.

Especially Ruby's character.

Suzette checked her background based on her personal development, she can become famous but Ruby was too much of a diva.

"Then what kind of agent do you want to change to?" Suzette asked.

"Anyone but you."
