Suspicious Proximity
Enzo, who had just come out of the royal minister's room, immediately saw the king, Martha, and Alexandra. His eyebrows almost touched when his gaze fell on Alexandra. "What's wrong with her face? Is she bored?" he muttered softly with a smile. He then walked over to the king.
"Good afternoon, King. Am I disturbing you?" Enzo asked when he was face to face with Stevan.
"Good afternoon. Of course not. How are my preparations for the attack tactics?" Stevan replied.
"I have studied everything. Your attack tactics are extraordinary. I have to learn more from you, King. The preparations are 80 percent complete. Just waiting for instructions from the king," Enzo answered politely and firmly. His gaze occasionally stole glances at Alexandra, who had only lowered her head since his arrival.
"Okay, good. I will tell you all to get ready when the time comes. You must immediately complete all the preparations,” Stevan replied with authority that radiated from him, making Martha even more fascinated.
“By the way, what is the king doing now?” Now Enzo’s gaze shifted to Alexandra, who had been stealing his attention.
“I’m just taking Martha around. How about you?” Stevan began to feel Enzo’s movement, who was starting to be attracted to Alexandra. He began to be on guard. Afraid that the woman he loved would be taken by another man.
“I just want to greet the king and also my friend,” Enzo replied while looking at Alexandra. It was as if he didn’t want to stop looking at her beautiful face.
Stevan glanced at Alexandra, who was now starting to lift her face and look at Enzo. That made him jealous. He suddenly handed the books back to Alexandra.
“What do you mean, King?” Alexandra asked.
“Bring your books and go back to your place immediately!” Stevan ordered with his grumpy face.
Alexandra smiled happily. “Okay, King. I'll go back to my place first," she said, then saluted the king.
"I also beg your leave, King. I want to go back to my place." Enzo also took his leave, following Alexandra.
Stevan, who saw the two of them walking side by side, felt jealous. Both his hands clenched tightly. "Alexa, stop!" he said in a loud voice, making Alexandra and Enzo stop in their tracks.
"What's wrong, King?" Alexandra stared with a confused expression.
“I’ll take you.” Stevan immediately rushed over and took back the books that Alexandra had brought.
“What’s wrong with him? That’s so strange,” she muttered to herself as she stared at the king, who was starting to walk away.
Seeing Alexandra still standing, Stevan stopped and looked back. “Come on, hurry up and walk! Do you want me to pull you?” he said impatiently.
Martha and Enzo, who saw the king’s attitude towards Alexandra, could only be stunned. They both felt that there was something odd about the closeness between the two. It was unusual for the king to act so sweetly and seem overprotective of a woman.
“Are you sure that between them is just a relationship between the king and his personal servant?” Martha muttered, which Enzo heard.
“I’m not sure. The king’s gaze at Alexandra is like a man’s towards his lover,” Enzo answered softly as he watched Alexandra and Stevan leave. He began to feel uncomfortable in his heart when he saw the closeness of the king with the woman he liked. "Am I jealous?" he asked himself to convince.
In the human world, Sofia was looking for Alessia, who had not been found. Her stepdaughter had not returned home for three days. She was already holding her cellphone and was about to report it to Marcel. “This is very good news. I hope she never comes back to this house.” She started calling her husband.
“Hello, my husband. I have some bad news for you. Our daughter, Alessia, hasn’t come home for three days. I’m really worried about her,” Sofia said in a tone that made her sound really sad. Marcel, at the other end of the phone, sounded really panicked.
“What are you doing?” Suddenly, a voice was heard that surprised Sofia.
“Where have you been? Why are you just back now? You’ve been away from home for three days. Is it possible that you stayed at your boyfriend’s house like before?” Sofia deliberately emphasized every word that came out of her mouth so that Marcel, who was still on the phone, could hear.
However, instead of answering, Alessia lay down on the sofa. Tiredness and drowsiness began to attack her. Her body felt so weak and reluctant to deal with Sofia’s annoying chatter.
"Alexa, what happened? Where have you been for the past three days?" Marcel's voice began to lower. He didn't want to get emotional and end up fighting with his daughter.
Alessia, who initially didn't care, when she heard Marcel's soft voice, her heart melted. She then took the phone from Sofia's hand by force. "Hi, Marcel. I'm sorry. I take care of my work, and it's very troublesome. I can't explain in detail. But what's clear is that for the past three days I've been very busy and haven't had time to go home."
A sigh of relief was heard on the phone. "Okay. No problem. As long as you're okay, I'm relieved," said Marcel, with a sincere smile.
"But, next time you have to let me know, so I don't worry. I don't want what happened to you, suddenly getting pregnant, to happen again." Sofia began to make the atmosphere worse. She didn't like seeing the father and daughter's relationship closed.
“Enough! Don’t argue! I have a headache listening to both of your voices,” Marcel said.
Alessia returned the phone to Sofia. “I’m fine, Marcel. Don’t worry,” she said, then stood up and walked away to her bedroom.
“Very rude,” Sofia muttered, still annoyed by her stepdaughter’s attitude and Marcel had already ended the call unilaterally.
“What the hell? He blames me?” Sofia still couldn't believe Marcel's change of attitude.
In the palace, exactly at 12 midnight, Alexandra was still in the king's room. She tried to get rid of the drowsiness that was starting to attack. Her hands repeatedly pinched her thighs so that her eyes would stay awake and not end up falling asleep in front of the king. "How long will I be in this damned room? I really can't hold back my drowsiness anymore. What should I do to make him forgive me?" she thought to herself while wincing in pain from the pinch of her hand on her thigh.
"Just say it if you want to scold me. Don't keep it to yourself. It's not good for your health. You have to remember, you are just an ordinary human being who has a very vulnerable and weak body," said Stevan, who was busy drawing a war tactics map.
“I’m too lazy to argue with you. My eyes are really heavy,” replied Alexandra, who was now looking at Stevan with a pleading gaze.
Hearing Alexandra’s hoarse voice, Stevan stopped his activities and turned his gaze towards the woman. “Sleep on my bed,” he said.
“Are you crazy?” Alexandra widened her eyes.
