Don't Bother Mine
Regina smiled thinly, then stood up from her seat. "Check her stomach. Is she really pregnant or not?” she ordered. She didn’t want to waste this opportunity. Bringing Alexandra to the second palace required extra effort, and we had to trick her into coming to the second palace. If it wasn’t for the reason that the queen mother wanted to entrust an important item to the king, she probably wouldn’t have come.
The palace doctor began to examine Alexandra’s stomach. It could be seen from his facial expression. The doctor looked gloomy and just sighed. He tried to check it several times, but the results were the same. He sighed again. He didn’t know what would happen to the future of the kingdom. He was so worried about it. However, there was one thing that confused him. The woman’s pulse was very different from the pulse of lycans in general. He could even feel that there was no strength at all in her body.
“How is it? Is the king lying if the woman is pregnant?” Regina asked, looking very impatient to know the results of the examination.
The palace doctor lowered his face, not daring to look at the queen mother. “What the king said is true. She is positively pregnant, Queen Mother.”
Regina was very shocked to hear the palace doctor’s answer. She never thought she would have a grandson from a lowly woman. “Kill the fetus in her womb!” she said suddenly, surprising the palace doctor.
“I dare not do it, Queen Mother,” the Doctor said in a trembling voice. He did not have the power to kill the king’s baby.
“If you dare not, let me do it. Tell me what I must do to kill the fetus in her womb.” Regina stared sharply at the palace doctor. She had made up her mind to get rid of anything that would hinder her plan.
The doctor took something out of his pocket. He seemed hesitant to give the item that was now in his hand to Regina. However, suddenly, the Queen Mother’s personal servant snatched the item from him. “Are you sure you want to do this? What if the king finds out?” The palace doctor looked very anxious.
Regina smiled. She signaled her personal servant to prepare the potion so that it would be easy to give to Alexandra. Her servant immediately went to get a container to put the potion in. She then sat back on the bed while stroking the stomach of the woman she considered a parasite of the king. "I will not let you have power in this palace. No royal descendant can ever come from a slave," she muttered with a grin.
Suddenly, the door to the queen mother's room opened, and King Stevan appeared. Regina immediately turned her head. She was very surprised to see the unexpected arrival of the king. The palace doctor, who was also in the room, was very scared. "What did you do to my personal servant?" Stevan stepped into the queen mother's private room. His gaze immediately fell on the figure of the woman who was lying helplessly on the bed.
Regina stood up from her seat. She looked at her personal servant and signaled to hide the potion that she would give to Alexandra, then she looked back at the king. "What a coincidence that she came here earlier. I wanted to check her pregnancy," she answered, trying to be calm.
"Is that true? But why is she unconscious like this?” Stevan certainly did not believe the Queen Mother’s answer. He knew very well that his grandmother really did not like Alexandra. His gaze now shifted to the palace doctor, who had only lowered his face since his arrival in this room. “Don't touch mine!”
Regina clenched her fist. She could not accept the king protecting a lowly servant. “I expect you to behave yourself in my room, King!” she growled.
Stevan smirked. “You should behave yourself, my honorable Queen Mother. No one is allowed to take something that has been claimed as mine without my permission.” He stepped closer, approaching Alexandra, who was still unconscious.
“If I find any wounds on her body, I will not hesitate to fight you!” Stevan threatened, glaring sharply at the Queen Mother.
Stevan was about to lift Alexandra's body. However, when his hands touched her body, her eyes slowly opened. "How are you? Does anything hurt?" he asked with concern. He even examined Alexandra's skin carefully, afraid that there were bruises or wounds there.
"My head feels dizzy," said Alexandra while touching her head.
Stevan immediately stared sharply at the queen mother. "What have you done to her?"
The queen mother's personal servant and the palace doctor looked very scared and did not dare to look at the king. Meanwhile, Regina looked calm as if she had done nothing wrong. "It seems like she's just tired."
Stevan looked back at Alexandra and sat beside the woman. "Do you still feel dizzy?" His hand stroked Alexandra's head gently and lovingly. Regina, who saw it, was very angry but could only keep it in her heart.
"It's getting better. Why is the king here?" asked Alexandra, looking gently at the king.
"I should be the one asking you. Why are you here? You suddenly disappeared without saying goodbye to me at first. Have you forgotten your duty that you are only allowed to serve me and everything you do must be with my permission?” Stevan stared closely at Alexandra’s eyes. He tried to find out what really happened to her.
Alexandra looked confused, seeing the king’s quite protective attitude towards her. “Sorry.” That was the only word she could say. She recalled what really happened to her. Her gaze now shifted to the queen mother. “What happened to me, Queen Mother?” she asked with a curious expression.
