Chapter 341 341. Olena - Surprise 1

Chapter 341 341. Olena - Surprise 1
I cover my face with my palms and groan, “I can’t believe you just said that,” making him laugh.
Artemiy wraps his arms around me and pulls me into his chest, his familiar cologne soothing me. He presses a kiss to the top of my head and says into my hair, “A motherfucker I might be, but I am fucking the hottest mama in the world.”
I pinch him, which only makes him let out a dramatic hiss of pain before tilting my head up, happiness shining in his gaze.
“How do you feel about this?” he wonders.
A torrent of emotions floods me, but I focus on the most important one. “We are going to have a baby.”
A smirk tugs at the corners of his mouth. “I’m a lucky motherfucker.”
“You really need to stop saying that,” I huff.
He lets out a chuckle as his head dips and his lips brush against mine. “I love you, beautiful. I can’t believe we’re going to be parents.”
I’m pregnant.
Another child is all I ever wanted, and now that it’s finally happening, I can’t help but feel scared. Maybe it’s because of how things went when I was pregnant with Ivan. But things are different now. The father of my child—should I say fathers?—is someone who really loves me and treats me like I’m the best thing that has ever happened to him. Also, I have no idea who the real father is—Vasiliy or Artemiy. Does it even count? Does it? What if this causes a rift between us? What if the pregnancy has complications and I lose the baby? What if one of them doesn’t want this, because let’s face it, we are not that young anymore? We are at a stage in our lives when we want to enjoy grandkids, not raise a child of our own.
Artemiy notices that I’ve fallen silent. “Talk to me.”
“I’m scared,” I whisper.
“What exactly scares you?” he asks, trying to get to the root of the problem.
My teeth sink into my bottom lip, and I bite it quite hard before I reveal, “That this baby will change everything.”
“And it will,” Artemiy agrees with me. “But that doesn’t mean it will be a bad thing. Only that in about nine months, our lives will become busier and we will have a tiny human dependent on us—a tiny human that we will love with all of our hearts. Not only us, but all the extended family. And there are many uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandparents who will love our son or daughter. Not to mention a brother and a sister.”
At that, all my worries and fears start to ease, but there are still some that linger, too stubborn to let me be.
“What if this is not what we want?” I wonder.
“I assure you that nothing will make me happier than having a child with you.” He hesitates only for a moment before asking, “Do you regret getting pregnant?”
I don’t reply right away, not wanting to let my emotions and fears distort what I’m about to say. When I’m sure of my reply, I say, “I don’t, but we don’t know whose kid this is,” I point out.
He blinks several times before a frown appears between his brows. “It has to be Vasiliy’s.”
He’s probably right.
“And that doesn’t bother you?” I inquire.
“Why would it? Any child we have with you will be mine as well. Biology isn’t the only thing that makes a man a father. Cherry doesn’t share my DNA, but she is still my daughter. I raised her, cared for her, been there each time she was sick or at any milestone–small or big.”
He’s going to be such a good dad to our child.
While not all my worries are gone, since the three of us will have to sit down and have a serious conversation about our baby, Artemiy’s words are enough to chase away a great part of my worries, my thoughts already turning to how we are going to tell everyone that we are expecting.
“We are going to be parents,” I breathe, finally allowing myself to feel happy about it.
His forehead drops to mine. “We are.”
Now that most of my worries related to the baby have been set aside, another kind of sentiment floods me—happiness. The kind I’ve never felt before.
“I can’t believe I’m pregnant,” I breathe.
His fingers wrap around mine and bring my hands to his mouth, pressing several kisses to my knuckles.
“I can’t wait for the baby to be here,” he says. “You are going to be an amazing mom.”
“And you are going to be an amazing dad.”
“I can’t wait to let Cherry know. She’s going to freak the fuck out because she always wanted to have a sibling.”
“Did you manage to get in contact with her?” I wonder.
“No. I’m starting to get worried.”
My arms come around him, wrapping tight. “I’m sure she’s fine. She’s probably having such a great time in Europe that she forgot to check her phone.”
His voice drops. “Yeah. You’re probably right.”
I get on my tiptoes and press a kiss to his lips. He kisses me back hungrily, his hands grabbing my ass and squeezing it hard. He turns me around so that the sink is at my back and presses me against the cabinet while his mouth descends to my neck. Knowing how obsessed he has become over the past few days with kissing and sucking on my flesh, I remove the scarf and even tilt my head to the side, giving him better access to my neck.
So lost do I get in the sensation of his warm lips on my skin, of his teeth gently scraping it, that I don’t hear the door opening or someone entering. But I do hear my son angrily shouting, “You fucking bastard!” as he peels Artemiy away from me. “I’m going to fucking kill you for taking advantage of a vulnerable woman!”
I’m so mortified that my son has found us like this, and while I fumble for words, wanting to explain that it’s not what it looks like, Ivan punches Artemiy in the stomach, then in the face. Artemiy does nothing to defend himself.
Seeing my son attacking one of the men I love dearly makes pain explode inside my chest.
“Stop!”
My voice is barely above a whisper, and neither seems to hear me.
“Knock it off.”
This time, my voice is louder, but Ivan is hellbent on beating Artemiy to a pulp.
I inhale deeply before I yell, “Somebody help!”
Seconds later, heavy footsteps rush down the hallway. It doesn’t take long for Andrey and Dominick to burst inside, Isla following suit. The last to enter is Vasiliy, who takes one look at my face and hugs me right away, my left shoulder pressed against his chest, while Andrey and Dominick separate Ivan and Artemiy.
More people gather in front of the bathroom, and my cheeks start to burn with embarrassment.
“What the hell is going on here?” Isla asks, while glaring at Ivan.
