Chapter 334 335. Olena - Bonding 3

Chapter 334 335. Olena - Bonding 3
Artemiy sits next to me, takes my hand in his, our fingers interlacing, brings it to his mouth, and places a kiss on top of it before he starts explaining, “Hellstars are very special women, each one with a different power. While I’m not sure what your power is truly capable of, I felt it just now, wrapping around me.” He lets out a chuckle. “I haven’t felt this… carefree since I was a child. It’s like all my worries and doubts have vanished, and the only thing remaining in my heart is the love I feel for you.”
“The same goes for me,” Vasiliy says as he gets on my other side and pulls the blanket over us.
The idea that magic powers exist sounds like something out of a fantasy book, but I can’t deny that I feel something deep inside me stirring to life, becoming stronger and stronger with each passing moment. It’s not something that wants to harm others, but to heal and nurture, something that wants those around me to be happy and loved.
And if demons and angels exist, even the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, why not magical powers?
I lean my head against his shoulder as Artemiy asks, “Do either of you know the story of the Outcasts? The demons and angels who use the Dukes and the Lords as vessels?”
“I don’t,” I admit.
“I do,” Vasiliy says.
Artemiy proceeds to tell me the entire story of creation and how humans came to be. But he also reveals what happened when Lucifer was betrayed by the one he trusted most—Azael—and how some of the demons and angels became Outcasts.
Then he explains that hellstars are, essentially, the reincarnations of the female demons and angels who followed Azael and helped him attack and nearly destroy the Garden of Eden. Or, at least, that was true for the hellstars born a couple of generations ago.
Those born in the last hundred years, however, are the reincarnations of archangels from another world who called themselves Warrior Nuns. They came to Earth after their home planet was destroyed by Nephilims.
And Earth might suffer the same fate as Thulia, the world of the Warrior Nuns.
When Artemiy finishes speaking, it takes me a couple of seconds to process everything before I ask, “And you think that in a past life, I was a Warrior Nun?”
The idea that I am a hellstar seems so… ludicrous. I am nothing special. Artemiy and Vasiliy seem to think that I am, but eventually they will come to realize that I am just an ordinary woman.
Vasiliy speaks before Artemiy can. “That can’t be right, given that in your past life, you were engaged to marry the demon whose soul now resides inside me.”
Artemiy shrugs at that. “Look, I don’t claim to know everything. I’m just letting you two know things that have been told during a Lords gathering at the Blood Lodge. What I do know is that Olena is a hellstar and that my demon agrees with that.”
Vasiliy’s eyes flash red. “Mahith has something to say.” His voice is more guttural when he speaks again—his demon has taken over. “The love story between Ariadne and me started long before she was born human.” Then, turning to me, he says, “Before this life, or the one in which you were known as Ariadne, there was another life, so far, far ago that it’s almost forgotten now. You were Armaita, the most breathtaking archangel ever to exist. Your two pairs of wings were silver, with black tips. Your hair was so golden that even the sun couldn’t match it. But what made me fall in love with you was your eyes.”
He cups my cheek, his warmth spreading along my body, and I lean into his touch.
“They are like the clouds on a snowy day.”
He presses his forehead against mine, breathing me in. “Before I decided to follow Lucifer and become a demon, you were not only my best friend, but also the one my heart yearned for, the one I loved from the moment God created you, but I was too afraid to tell you the truth because I thought I would lose you.
“It took me a long time to realize what a coward I had been. Maybe if I had told you what I felt, you wouldn’t have gotten into a fight with Celestina, God’s daughter, thinking that she was the reason why I decided to follow Lucifer to Hell. But she had nothing to do with it. She only told me to follow my heart, and I didn’t. I chose to walk away from you because I thought I was doing the right thing. You don’t know how much I regret it—even to this day.
“It was that fight that had you banished from Heaven.
“It took me a long time to find where God had sent you. I was so ecstatic to have found you, but you wanted nothing to do with me. Each time I came to visit you, you pretended I wasn’t there. It hurt, but I also knew it was my fault because I had abandoned you and gone to live in Hell instead of opening up and telling you what was truly in my heart.
“And when I finally told you that I had loved you for so long, you cried because you also felt the same, but being together was mostly impossible because of the task God had given you—and to you alone. If he had found out that I was visiting you, I’m not sure what punishment he would have given me. He probably would have forbidden me from ever seeing you again. So, I kept visiting you in secret whenever I could.”
By the time he finishes talking, his voice has turned raspy and thick with guilt and regret. His story is so sad, and I want to gather him in my arms and hold him tight for a long time.
“What task had she been entrusted with?” Artemiy wonders.
“To guard a sealed tomb deep in the bowels of Kolob.”
My brows draw together. “What is Kolob?”
