18. Need Her Help
Florence was so sleepy, it was still hard to open her eyes, she couldn't sleep last night, even though she had done everything to make herself fall asleep, including drinking a glass of milk, but it still didn't work, until she finally fell asleep on her own when it was almost morning. And now, who would dare disturb her rest?

Florence was still so sleepy that she cursed in annoyance, more so when she looked at the clock, it was still 7 a.m. Is this serious? She had only slept for an hour and now this guest was disturbing her. It was only natural that she would be upset.

The doorbell kept ringing. It made Florence's anger even more intense.

"Wait a minute!" Florence shouted from inside her room, suddenly knowing that it was ridiculous and pointless, as the people outside her house would not be able to hear her at all.

Her patience was as thin as a tissue. She clucked, grumbled, and swore. Her movements were so rushed that her foot accidentally bumped into a table leg, which was an unfortunate occurrence. She roared and screamed loudly, feeling great pain.

"Shit!" Florence hobbled towards the door. She didn't care that she looked like a mess. Just look at her hair, so messy. She didn't care about her appearance at all. The devil cares. She just wanted to meet the person who came here, after which she would go back to sleep.

Ting Tong!

"Wait a second!" Florence shouted loudly, this time practically certain that her guest heard her. She was already very close to the door.

The door finally slammed open and Florence froze for a moment.

"Flo!" Jess said enthusiastically, but the next second her face changed. She was shocked to see the look of disarray on her sister's face. "Oh my God, you just woke up. You look..."

"Super messy." Florence sighed softly while rolling her eyes. "Yeah, I know that."

"You're not usually up at this hour. You're a practical, disciplined, rule-abiding woman. It feels so strange to see you like this."

"You know me so well." Florence smiled faintly. "And you're mistaking me for having just woken up, because I was actually sleeping when you came in."

"Oh, I really didn't know that. I thought you were ready for work."

"It's okay, Jess."

"If I had known you were still asleep, I wouldn't have come to disturb you. Seriously, I didn't know. I'm so sorry."

"It's not a big deal." Florence didn't want Jess to feel guilty all the time. She didn't need her apology either. She didn't need it. Therefore, she quickly took a step to speak again. "By the way I'm not working today, I decided to take some time off." Florence opened the door wider. "Come in."

"Oh, this one doesn't look like you."

Florence only responded with a smile as she guided her sister into the house.

"But, it's a good plan, don't put too much emphasis on work, you'll end up stressing yourself out."

Florence didn't argue, because in fact Jess' words were not wrong, but the reason why she chose to take a vacation at this time was because she was not serving or had an appointment with anyone. However, since she was still sleepy and tired, explaining it to her sister seemed to require more effort, so she chose to remain silent.

The sleepiness Florence felt was actually still lingering, but shooing Jess away didn't seem like the best thing she could do.

"So, what are you doing here so early? Come on and tell me." Florence yawned widely, oh shit, she was really still sleepy.

"I just wanted to—" Jess' explanation was cut short as Florence caught her attention. She sat closer to her sister, then said, "You still look sleepy, your eye bags look big and blackened, did you stay up all night?"

"Obviously not."

Jess' expression was clearly in need of further answers, there was no reason for her to remain silent. It was only right that she gave her honest reason.

"I couldn't sleep all night, I only slept for about an hour before you came. And yes, you're totally right, I'm still very sleepy right now."

"That explains a lot. You should continue sleeping now."

"Yes, if you don't mind."

Jess shook her head quickly. "Absolutely not. I'm fine. In fact, I'd feel bad if you kept talking to me while you were fighting sleep."

"Okay, I'll sleep, but not when I'm asking questions. I won't even be able to sleep."

"I want to ask your opinion."

"My opinion?" Florence found this interesting. She was curious. "Opinion about what?"

"Maybe it's more like right now I want you to help me buy the clothes I'm going to wear to my friend's event. I was just going to ask your opinion on which clothes I should buy, but I remembered that you have today off, so I thought it would be a good idea for you to come with me. What do you think?" Jess said at length with great enthusiasm. She felt it so deeply.

Florence was quite confused now. "You just told me to sleep, but now—"

"Oh, come on!" Jess waved her hand. "Don't be so straight, of course you should get enough sleep first, then after that we go, I hope you don't refuse me. Your fashion sense is always good and I can't avoid or ignore it."

"Yes, I don't mind at all. I will help you, but—" Florence closed her eyes for a moment, her eyes really felt hot right now. She couldn't stay awake any longer, her sleepiness attacking her more brutally uncontrollably.

"How important is your friend's event that you want to show up looking your best?"

"Important event, I don't want to explain anything right now. I want you to get enough sleep first. My explanation can follow later. Come quickly, go to your room."

"And what about you?"

"I'll probably be here waiting for you."

"Are you serious?"

"Why not? There's a television here, I can watch TV shows, there are plenty of snacks in your kitchen too, right? I brought my phone, I can play social media, I can dive in there for a few hours without getting bored, there are also games on my phone. Trust me, I know what to do to kill the boredom."

Florence sometimes forgot how Jess could be so chatty.

"Okay." Florence stood up, staggering slightly. "It's up to you, if you want to go home first, that's fine too."

"I got it."

"Just wake me up if I sleep too long, okay?"

Jess chuckled softly, "come on, Flo, go back to your room now!"
