A nice person
Minutes later, after Damon was gone, Samantha heard noises by the front door, which forced her to finally find the strength to stand up from her seat.

"I can't understand how one can be this tired when it is so early."

She complained to herself and took her handbag from the table.

Sam's phone immediately rang as she hung her bag on her arm.

She checked the caller ID and smiled at the contact calling her.

\[Hello Sean, I am about to get in my transport. I will arrive soon. I promise.\]

She explained as she glanced at the time on her phone screen.

\[Hello to you too, Sam. Please listen with complete attention, alright?\]

\[Yeah.\]

\[Mr Smith has been impressed by some of the paintings you did two months ago. Remember, we only took the photos and published them on our website.\]

\[Yes, I do remember.\] She tapped her feet as she waited for Sean to respond.

\[David, an old friend of mine, who is Paul's father, wants you to make one for his granddaughter. He said you can even grant him the original, but please make sure you bring them with you to the meeting.\]

Sam hesitated as she recalled something.

\[But Sean, this will inc...\]

\[No buts, child. I need you to come through on this one. Bring the two paintings with you in case they want to purchase more. That money will go straight into your pocket. I am only interested in this deal that can save our company from closing down.\]

Sean's desperation was clear in his tone.

\[I will see what I can do, but I can't promise you the world because those paintings are in Emerald Residence.\]

\[Shit! I forgot about the Blair child. No, no... In fact, forget about those just for today. We will apologize to the old man until you are able to go to your place.\]

Sean suggested, and Sam looked huffed in disappointment.

\[The meeting is in two hours. Let me see what I can do. See you at the Smith Group.\]

She hung up and hissed in frustration.

What could she do to help her boss get the deal? Paul was a friend, but that did not mean her company could get signed just because she was part of it. They had to prove themselves beyond a reasonable doubt, and that included showing her private work to Roselyn's father, who was also a client to her and Sean.

She paced around as a coping mechanism, trying to contemplate a plan to get into her apartment without Aaron giving her problems.

"Shit, why should this happen to me!"

Sam yelled and turned around, only to meet three pairs of eyes.

There stood Cici, with an Asian woman and a tall blonde-haired man beside her.

"Ohh, hey, I didn't see you guys there."

Sam grew flustered under their deep gazes.

"It is five, Miss Stone. I wanted to show you my son and his wife before they could leave for their trip." Cici smiled, gesturing to the two people with her hands.

"Hey, I am Taylor, nice to meet you."

The cute Asian wife came forward with a cheesy smile and stretched her hand.

Sam snapped out of her thoughts and shook hands with Taylor, who had the friendliest smile ever.

"Nice to meet you too, Taylor. My name is Samantha. Both of you can call me Sam, Sammy, or however you prefer."

She cracked a joke, and they all laughed.

Taylor glanced at her mother-in-law while keeping a warm smile. "She is a nice person, Mother. I love her." Taylor blew a kiss to Sam and pushed her husband forward to greet Sam too.

"Trust me, she is always this nice."

Cici chimed in with a warm expression.

Their kind words made Sam blush happily.

"Hello, twin. My name is Tom, and this beautiful woman here is my mother. Thank you for treating her nicely."

Tom and Sam shook hands.

"I get what you did with the 'twin' word because honestly, we are two blondies. Isn't that cute?" Sam was glad and more calm with the introductions of two sweet strangers.

"Yeah, very cute. Please tell me that my husband and I did not disrupt your plans to go to work. This beautiful outfit screams professionalism." Taylor asked innocently, and Sam panicked as she saw the time on the clock mounted on the wall.

"Oops, let me bounce before I get much later. I need to fetch some paintings quickly." She added and was about to go when Cici gently held her hand.

"Wait, who are you going with to work?"

Cici asked with a concerned expression.

"I didn't request an Uber, so I guess Bald will take me today."

Sam said softly, but the old woman before her frowned hard.

"I apologize, Miss Stone, but I have sent Bald to some store. Taylor, please go with her. Make sure you drop her at her workplace."

Cici turned to her children, who smiled in return.

"I really don't want to be a bother, guys. I can call an Uber fast, fast. You look like there is a long trip ahead of you two."

She refused while opening her screen to check for available Ubers.

Cici helplessly glanced at Taylor and Tom, silently calling out to them.

"Sam, it is okay. We are offering to take you to work. We can again make a stop for your paintings." Taylor suggested seriously, with her husband backing her up.

"Mother, we will see you after two weeks. Don't forget your pills. I love you."

Tom kissed his mom on her forehead, with Taylor doing the same on Cici's left cheek.

"I love you, two kids. Please be careful on the route." Sam was mesmerized by the love Cici's son and wife were showing her.

"I wish my parents would be this loving towards me." She thought deeply, allowing sadness to settle over her features.

"Come, Sam. Come with us."

Tom said softly.

All three of them got into the same white BMW, and Tom allowed Sam to direct them to her house.
