Love your confidence
Love your confidence
Marry and Bonnie had been visiting their daughter for the past hours after Sam.
They even waited for her to sleep, taking good care of her lovingly.
"Mom, it is getting late now. I think you guys should go back now. I am sure Liam might pop in anytime." She suggested, with guilt on her face as they sat on either side of her bed.
"Well, your husband has been popping in for the past 5 hours, even though we are still waiting. Isn't that true, Marry?"
Bonnie asked seriously.
Marry gave a quick nod. "Bonnie is right, Rose, we cannot leave you here all alone. I know for sure Sarah and Paul made a stop. I am just not sure where Liam is."
Marry shook her head in disbelief.
Roselyn smiled, amused at her two mothers refusing to go back just because her husband hadn't come back to check on her since the morning.
"No, you guys are just too protective. If Liam hasn't come back, then it means he is busy with something." Rose replied casually, and both her mothers exchanged a glance.
"Jasper is back also, there is no need to overwork himself. Let us call Liam."
Marry dialed Liam's number with her phone and placed him on loudspeaker.
"Hello, Mother."
Liam replied from the phone while standing at the door, and the three women smiled at him.
"I thought you had neglected my daughter. You missed a bullet right here." Bonnie said sternly, and Liam chuckled.
"Yeah, he is very lucky."
Marry chimed in, with arched brows.
"Ohh Bonnie, please don't gang up on me."
Liam feigned a sob, and they all chuckled.
"Your husband is here, kiddo. Please recover soon, okay." Bonnie kissed her daughter on the cheek, with Marry doing the same before they could go out and excuse themselves.
"Hey, Wifey, I am so sorry for delaying. We had a long meeting at work."
He kissed her lips gently before sitting on the empty space beside her.
"Don't stress, I know that you are lying."
She winked at him, but he paused as he tried to contemplate what she was trying to say.
"No, I am being honest. You can ask Jasper."
He said calmly, with his heart racing inside.
"There is no need for that, babe. I know you had to take a quick nap. I would too if I had to sit on a chair for the whole night. How's Christopher?" She gave him a tender look.
"Yes, you caught me on that one."
He took her hand in his and gently massaged her palm.
"Christopher is doing alright. I just don't think it is a good idea to keep bringing him to this place. He is too young to get traumatized by seeing sick people."
His lips curled into a gentle smile.
"An explanation is not necessary on that one. I do understand. So where is my phone?" She asked with a curious gaze, and he sighed before taking out a phone from his Jean jacket, carefully giving it to her.
"Your other phone is with me in case your stalker texts again. This one has new numbers, alright?" He dipped his head to try and kiss her, but she deliberately shifted her face to tease him.
"That's an invasion of privacy, my love. I promise I will not entertain him again."
Her voice softened as she begged him.
"It is very unfortunate that I cannot grant you your wishes at this moment. We have to guard ourselves now, and before doing confrontations and all that, please keep in mind of Chris, me and the little one in there." Liam's expression grew serious.
"Yeah, I won't, but then they must leave me alone. Between you and I, you should know that I am tired of all this drama from your ex-girlfriends or whatever. First it was Medicine, Prudence, then now Michelle. Can we just be a normal married, happy couple without all this chaos?" He frowned when her voice cracked.
"I know, babe. After all this, there will not be any woman coming and claiming to have been with me. This is the last one." He promised with a soft tone, pulling her into a warm embrace.
"That is not very convincing. Is that supposed to console me?" Her sadness turned into disbelief, almost causing him to burst into laughter if he couldn't have held himself.
"Whoa... Maybe I did not explain it better. But I swear that we will not have similar problems going forward. I will protect you until my very last breath."
Her eyes lifted at the sound of his sweet words, and she smiled at him, burying her head in his chest.
"I will hold you to that. When am I getting out of here?" He shrugged his shoulders, shaking his head at once.
"Not now, but definitely when you get better. I suggest you focus on recovering, and we will see the rest at home."
A breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding escaped her.
"I will do that if you can ask Theo to bring all the necessary documents so I can keep busy while I'm still stuck in this place." She raised her head and glanced around the room under his gentle gaze.
"You will not be resting if I do that. There is a reason why I asked Theo to help you out. He is a professional, let him help you out. On the bright side, your diner is popular, and everyone thinks it's in competition with the Foster diner." He uttered happily, causing her cheeks to flush as she blushed.
"That is so interesting. I cannot wait to burst your bubbles when they find out who is behind the scenes." She rolled her eyes playfully, causing a low chuckle to escape him.
"There you go, girl! I love the confidence."
He mimicked a girl's voice, and she laughed uncontrollably until Paul cleared his throat from the door.
Liam and Rose turned in sync to look at the door, and they saw Paul and Sarah standing next to each other while watching them with warmth in their eyes.
"Hey brother, you guys are back."
Rose said with confusion crossing her eyes.
"They were here before?"
Roselyn gave Liam a slight nod, and he smiled faintly, gesturing them to get in.
Only Sarah got inside, with Paul remaining in position.
"Hey Rosina, I would like to steal your husband for a few minutes."
Paul asked softly, but Roselyn hesitated when she saw the seriousness in her husband's face.
"Is there something I should know?"
Paul shook his head and curled his lips.
"I will be right back."
Liam kissed her cheek and went out with Paul, leaving Sarah with his wife.
Paul and Liam stood in the hallway with serious expressions on their faces.
"Foster, what did you do?"
Paul asked with a cold tone.
Liam also glared at him, his sudden change of mood taking him by surprise.
"I'm not sure what you are talking about, brother in-law. " He replied with a cool smirk.
"Really?"
Paul narrowed his eyes at him, not trusting a word he was saying with his mouth.
