Not just a doctor.
Not just a doctor.
Nancy was about to go out from the main entrance of the hospital when she felt a familiar presence passing her. She abruptly turned around, almost stumbling on her heels.
"Hey, where do you think you are going?"
She rushed to stop in front of him.
"Good morning, Miss Quincy. Isn't your greeting a little bit rude?"
Aaron curled his lips, his smirk so wide that it made Nancy frown immediately.
"Who cares about that when everyone now knows exactly how you use those hands of yours to beat women."
Nancy gritted her teeth, her patience running out as she tried not to make noise to avoid stares from passersby, even her colleagues who were present on the morning shift.
"Frankly, I don't know what you are talking about, Doctor. Aren't you scared of being reported to your boss?"
Aaron dipped his head, staring into her eyes while she stood her ground.
"Whose boss? And wait a second... Is stopping an abuser stalking my friend a sin?"
She challenged him, clutching her handbag around her shoulder.
"Like I have said, Miss Quincy. I don't know what you are on about."
Aaron narrowed his eyes, feigning confusion.
"Go on and act dumb, Mr Blair. However, I think shouting my lungs out here to tell everyone all your dirty laundry might refresh your mind."
Nancy mirrored his previous smirk.
"Is that a threat, Nancy?"
He whispered, and she nodded.
"I like the way my name twirls on your tongue. It is unfortunate you are a prick. Otherwise, I might have fallen for you."
She mocked with a low chuckle.
"No, no, you are mistaken. I wouldn't let you fall for me either way because, if you have not realised, most men would love to be with Sam."
She gaped at him.
"Yes, I admit Samantha is beautiful, if your intention was to cause conflict between me and her."
His brows furrowed with her response.
"Uh-huh, I know that you are not jealous, and that is why I would also like to share that Damon is one of the most men that would love to be with Sam.
He just doesn't have the balls to say it to her. Now, if you would excuse me."
Her lashes flickered as what he said sank into her mind.
He tried moving past her, but she was stubbornly standing her ground, not minding being late for her lunch date with Priya.
"First of all, if Damon wanted Sam, he would have made a move ages ago when they met. Again, you saying this to break my friendship with Sam apart is pretty low because it won't happen. Now, if you don't want me to shout, please leave this place and never return."
Her cold smile mocked him more than her spoken words.
"And why the hell would I listen to a woman who might even lose her job in trying to prove a point to me?"
His features hardened under her cool gaze.
"I am not sure if you are familiar with my game, Mr Blair, but I am not just a doctor who is working here but a concerned and protective friend who would do anything to guard her own." She paused and pulled him by his striped tie, one he paired with his black suit.
"This is my territory, Mr Blair, so your threats are never gonna work on me... also, please keep in mind that Mr Bridge is not the only man that digs me."
She playfully kissed his cheek, her red lip print showing on his skin.
"Interesting, I am harassed enough..."
"No, you are not. Come, my love, and let's not cause a scene, right?"
She pulled him outside with her.
"Like I have a choice."
Aaron walked out with Nancy, like a couple having a small argument but so in love.
"That was a nice cooperation, Mr Blair. Nice seeing you."
She walked to her car when she saw her driver opening a door for her.
Aaron was left frozen in the parking space, his mind not believing what had just happened, which led him out here alone.
Another car honked, snapping him out of his busy mind.
"That bitch is gonna pay for this!"
He muttered under his breath and moved out of the way, walking to his car and sighing in frustration.
Love was now in London as Archibald walked into his apartment with flowers in his hand and the car keys in the other.
Michelle was in the living room, scrolling on her phone when she heard a noise from the entrance. Looking at the time, she knew it was Archie at the door, so she stood up and prepared to go greet him.
She usually went to meet him by the entrance because most of the time he would sneak upstairs, even skipping dinner to avoid spending time and talking to her.
"Hey, you look happy today."
Michelle stopped in her tracks as she turned to him after changing his formal shoes to his male slippers, which were by the door.
He had hired another helper after firing Patty, following his ordeal of waking up next to a woman he never wished to share a bed with. Well, only after Liam opened up to him.
There was no longer a gap opened with Patty's absence, and Michelle was pleased with the new helper who seemed to mind her own business, even bending down to her whenever she would give orders whilst she was mostly alone in the house, with Archie mostly at work or not coming back to spend the night at home.
"Yes, I am, and I want everybody to be happy tonight. These are yours."
He grinned and handed her the flowers with a soft expression.
Michelle hesitated, her fingers shaking as she took the bouquet of flowers in her hands.
"Thanks, Archie."
She smiled gently but carefully.
"You are welcome. Let me put this in a vase."
She suggested and waited for his response.
"You can go ahead. I'll be waiting for you in the dining room."
He winked at her and happily went to the dining room, where dinner could have been prepared for the two of them.
"I'll be waiting in the dining room."
Michelle mimicked his voice and rushed upstairs to her bedroom to secretly make her phone calls.
She glanced sideways before locking herself in her bedroom, dialing her cousin's contact while pacing back and forth.
\[Finally! After how long?\] she said with impatience.
\[I can't take your calls all the time, you know?\]
\[Stop complaining, Dan. I have a new problem here.\]
\[What?\] She looked at her phone in surprise, his cold tone shocking her.
\[Archie came home with flowers, topped with a nice attitude. Like the way he used to be before we went to River City.\]
Michelle reported with panic in her tone.
\[That is nice. You should be glad.\]
\[Nope, I think he's planning something. I hope he doesn't strangle me or anything.\]
\[Why so?\]
\[I seduced him, dummy. Recall giving me that advice?\] Michelle's frustration grew.
\[Yeah, but be careful out there.\]
\[Your responses are weird. Are you with a girl?\] Dan hung up.
