Jean Is Truly A Lackey Of The North East.
Jean Is Truly A Lackey Of The North East.
"Collin, do we really have to investigate Jean?" I asked Collin, but my gaze was so blank.
"What's wrong, miss?" Collin asked after I put down my phone listlessly.
"Leonard said he was attacking to the northeast. An explosion at the port that I thought would cause a lot of damage and casualties. At the same time, Jean messaged me after not contacting me for three days. He said something had happened with his job, and he had suffered many losses and received numerous complaints. For the past three days, Luca hasn't come home either. Am I overthinking? Or does this really sound suitable and relevant?" I'm still staring blankly ahead.
"The situation sounds so relevant. But have you confirmed when Leonard attacked? If you think back, Jean didn't contact me for three days, which means the incident that happened to Jean occurred three days ago. But Leonard only contacted you today. Calm down, miss; perhaps it's all unrelated." Collin tried to calm me down.
"But Leonard has been contacting me since three days ago; I just never answered. What do we do, Collin?" Unconsciously, tears welled up in my eyes. I'm so afraid to accept the reality if it's true that Jean is a minion of Mister Jay or one of his trusted people or that he's on par with Luca, which is why he recognized Luca.
"Miss Reinhardt, I know she is not someone who would lament her fate and stand still in a dead end. You are always good at finding solutions, and you are always wise. What you need to do right now is stay calm and try to think of something." Collin was very helpful, honestly; if John were here, he would have panicked or even scared me.
"Okay, I need to calm down." I sighed.
"The first thing you need to do is reply to Jean's message as if nothing happened." Collin gave me instructions, and I followed them. I replied to Jean's message as if I knew nothing, as if I were still the same lover I was the last time we met.
"Second, you have to drink." Collin got up and left, took a glass, and poured some water to offer to me. I drank it down calmly, much more calmly than I did just now.
"Now, think about what we should do." Collin's words made me pause for a moment.
"What if we force Luca to talk? Who is Jean, really?" I asked Collin for his opinion.
"Are there any other options?" Collin asked.
"Letting Luca be unburdened by questions, but going with him to the northeast and looking for Jean's whereabouts there," I said.
"That's too risky. But it's not easy to bring Luca home right now either. As Leonard said, the north side is busy. I'm sure Luca is also very busy and won't be able to come home." I nodded my head in agreement with Collin's words.
"But we can't just suddenly go to the Northeast to look for Jean. What if Jean really is just Luca's school friend, and we'll only be putting ourselves in danger in the Northeast?" I was weighing Collin's words; his words were true, and the main point was that we couldn't be hasty.
"Try calling Luca. Who knows, maybe Luca is free and can answer your call," I said to Collin. Collin just followed along and connected his phone to Luca's number. Luca's number was active, but he didn't answer the call. "Try again." And I didn't want to give up.
Just like the first time, it took us quite a while to get through to Luca before we finally heard his voice.
"What's wrong, Collin?" It was really Luca's voice. His deep voice was identical and easy to remember."Are you busy? We heard there was an explosion at the port." Collin seemed to beat around the bush first.
"Yes, that explosion kept us busy here for three full days. Too many victims, with great losses. There were also three people who died as a result of this explosion, all of whom were the breadwinners of their families. We received petitions and demonstrations from the victims." Luca's expression made me exclaim, I knew it, and Leonard actually made this happen. Small traders became victims, and there were even fatalities.
"Have you found out who the perpetrator is?" Collin asked, interrogating.
"Yes, it was the South who detonated the bomb at the harbor. Mr. Jay is angry and plans to give Leonard and the South an even greater response," Luca revealed. It's impossible for Mr. Jay's men not to quickly get information about the perpetrator.
"That means there's going to be something bigger, right?" Collin asked.
"Yes, I hope Miss Reinhardt doesn't get involved," Luca said worriedly to his superior.
"It's difficult just to close your eyes and ears. Leonard remained written as Miss Reinhardt's destiny, which meant that Miss Reinhardt would always accompany and support the South." Collin explained things to Luca. However, Luca was still worried about me.
"Don't worry, Luca. I have you and Collin. We're even stronger and more powerful than the South," I said confidently.
"Ah, there's Miss Reinhardt over there." And even on the phone, his voice sounded so polite to me.
"I'm just worried about Miss Reinhardt. I hope the West remains safe and peaceful in all its dealings," said Luca.
"Luca, there's actually something I want to ask you, and I want you to answer honestly. Is it okay if I ask you now?" Luca certainly couldn't refuse, even though he was so busy right now.
"Ask away, miss," said Luca calmly.
"I want you to be honest. Why were you looking at Jean with a look of fear and anger? Actually, Jean is more than just a school friend, isn't he? Please tell me anything you know about Jean. Did you perhaps know Jean in the Northeast, which is why you were angry that he was approaching me?" Unexpectedly, Luca's short answer made my heart beat faster.
"Yes." Just the word 'yes,' and I couldn't stop thinking about it.
"So Jean is in the northeast? Is he a henchman?" This time Collin spoke for me, as I was too shocked and could only remain silent."Yes, he's here."
