Chapter 16.1

"Mikey," Joanna whispered waiting for his response.

"Why querida?"

"I want to clear up my schedule so we can enjoy our time together," she said feeling him relax.

"Okay little one," he said kissing her forehead. "One month only."

"Thats all the time I need."

When she woke up Ethan was already up and about the house. Leaving Michael to sleep some more she went down to find out what he was up to.

"Natasha? What are you doing here so bright and early?"

"I came by to drop of some files but Prince Charming here swept me off my feet with his favourite cereal. How could I refuse when offered such a treasure," she said smiling down at Ethan.

"Good morning," Michael greeted everyone getting a cup of coffee. "Mi amore," Michael said kissing her cheek tenderly before taking a sip from his cup.

"Good morning Michael," Natasha said trying to hide her smile as she saw her friend blush.

Joanna remained silent just following him with her eyes admiring the fine specimen he was as he finished his cup of coffee.

"I'm going to get ready for work," he whispered to her giving her a wink.

"Just don't finish the warm water for me," she said tracing his tatoo.

"Alright love," he said kissing her forehead. "Come on Ethan lets get you ready for school."

She mouthed a thank you receiving another wink in reply.

Natasha came to sit beside her.

"Have you guys done the deed?"

"Natasha! No we have not!" She burst out.

"Chill girl, I'm just checking."

"He respects me way too much. I thought I would have to argue with him over such matters, but not once has he brought up the subject of such intimacy."

"Jo are you sure he is a red blooded male?"

"Yes Tash he is and more than I ever wanted believe me," she said smiling.

"Well I have to leave now. The documents are in your office."

"Thank you Tash. If there are any problems I will inform you."

As soon as Michael left for work she called in her physiotherapist for her daily therapy. Though it was painful she pushed herself.

One evening Michael stopped by and found her crying in bed. He knew something was terribly wrong since she never cried or went to bed this early.

"Mi amore, what's wrong?" He asked sitting beside.

"Nothing Mikey," she mumbled wiping away her tears.

"Hey," he said removing her hands from her face. "Talk to me."

"How, how am I going to walk down the isle when I still can't even stand without those blasted things," she cried out pointing at her crutches.

He laughed out loud surprising her.

"It's not funny Mikey," she said getting angry.

"Everything will be alright," he cooed trying to hide his smile.

"Mikey!" She said in fustration.

"What?" He said getting up.

"You know what you don't understand a thing because you are a man. I shouldn't have told you my problem," she said crossing her arms over her chest.

Looking at him he had a smile on his face.

"You better wipe that smile off your face," she said angrily.

"Do you know how adorable you look when you are angry?"

"Sucking up isn't going to work," she said throwing a pillow at him.

"There she is, I missed your feisty side," he murmured huskily slowly moving towards her.

"How can you be turned on by my outburst you... you," she stammered searching for the right word.

"I'm always on for you baby, you just never noticed," he said caressing her cheek. "Now as for the wedding," I don't care if you can't walk or dance. I will gladly carry you down that isle myself," he said pulling her into his arms.

She blushed just picturing such a scenario.

"Don't worry about anything I will take care of you Jo."

"Thank you," she mumbled into his chest.
