Chapter 7.2
Michaels POV
"Parker what's on my agenda today?"
"Sir the Powells just called asking about their timber shipment, they seem to be getting agitated with all the waiting."
"Do I look like I can perform miracles? Tell them to be patient. Gosh that woman is something else. I feel so sorry for whoever marries her."
"You and me both sir. Also Mr Richards said he going to visit the site for Raymond plaza so he can give us an estimate of how long they will require to construct the plaza."
"Come with me Parker," he said putting on his Tom Ford shades.
"I need you to personally go to the docks and find out what is happening with our shipment. Direct only important calls to me, I trust the rest you can handle, also meet up with Mr Richards, and get all the information," he said taking out his phone to call Joanna.
"Of course sir, right away."
The sound of her giggling made him giddy with excitement. That was his new favourite sound, aside from her sweet voice.
"I couldn't hurt you, even if I tried Jo. So tell me, what are you up to?"
"Well Ethan and I are just drawing up some plans that's all."
"I'm glad to hear that, you really should do what you love. So when can I take you out again?"
"Mmm this week we are really swamped with work, but I guess Friday night."
"Friday night it is querida, and this time Ethan should come along."
"That would be lovely Mikey."

At noon Joanna received a call from Kim.
"Miss Powell there is a problem. It seems Raymond industries purchased the same piece of land we bought. I am looking at their paper work as we speak and it seems the title deeds are both authentic."
"What! Tell the men to stop whatever they are doing, I don't want any problems with the authorities right now."
Calling her lawyer in, they waited for Kim to arrive and explain her findings.

"Parker, what is it?"
"Sir, it seems the Powells have purchased the same land we bought. Their deed is very much authentic."
"What did you just say," Michael growled into the phone. "I am sick and tired of hearing that name especially today. Get back here now," he said cutting off Parker before he could say anything else.
Calling Benjamin into his office he told him what was happening.
"Well this is not actually either one of yoll?? s fault. The person to blame is the one who sold you that land, which is the city council."
"Parker get Martin up here now! Also call that Powell woman, and sort out this problem."

"Mr Raymond good afternoon," Kim said over the speaker.
"Good afternoon Miss Powell," sorry but this is not Mr Raymond you are speaking to, I am his assistant Parker.
"Pleasure to meet you Mr Parker, this is Kim speaking, Miss Powells assistant. Present in this meeting is Miss Powells lawyer Abigail Campbell."
"Abi? You are representing the Powells?" Martin said before Parker could continue with their conversation.
"Might I ask how do you know our lawyer sir?" Kim questioned.
"She is my ex-wife."
"Well this just got interesting," Michael whispered to Benjamin as they listened to the meeting in the comfort of his office going over the land title deed.
Meanwhile Joanna was on her way to the council?? s office to hear what they had to say, Tash was watching over her son.
"Miss Powell it's an honour to finally meet you," the land deeds distribution manager said offering her his hand, which she lightly shook looking around the building.
Looking over at Jonathan's grim expression he instantly knew this was not a pleasant visit, as he directed them to his office.
"Please have a seat. Would you care for some tea, coffee, water, anything?"
"Sir, let me not waste your time by beating about the bush. You gave me ownership of some land, but today I learnt that, that very same piece of land is owned by someone also," she said as she paced in front of his desk. "Care to explain to me how this happened?"
"Oh no, I am very sorry mam. The problem is that we have a new intern who mistakenly did the same to other clients, now I would have been willing to assist you but the blundering fool mistakenly deleted the transaction files, so for us to find out who actually owns the land is something we cannot help you out with.
Turning to leave, she told him to expect a call from her lawyers.
The weeks passed by in a blur as the lawyers met up to discuss the land issue. Both Michael and Joanna were busy with other projects leaving this fiasco for their lawyers to sort out. Michaels hand was healing very quickly and after two months he had fully recovered though he still experienced some stiffness.

"My annual leave is coming up and I was wondering if you guys wanted to go on a little trip with me," he told her as they took a stroll in the park one afternoon.
"I would love that very much, but I will have to talk to my boss first and also get a few things for Ethan if all is clear."
"That is fine by me baby," he said taking her hand in his.
"So where will we be going?"
"Well I have a cosy little cabin I like to rent out just to get away from the city life. It's very peaceful you will both love it."
"I'm sure we will," she said looking adoringly towards her son.
As she called out to him to not walk further away from them a young man who was running bumped into her making her lose her balance but before she knew it Mikey was holding her close to him.
"Watch were you are going!" he called out to the man who was long gone. " Are you alright querida?" he asked her with a worried expression.
"I'm fine sweetheart don't worry. Ethan!" she called out as she composed herself.
"Come, let?? s go home," he told her as he wrapped his arm around her pulling her close. And holding Ethan in his other arm.

"I am going away for a few weeks, make sure by the time I get back there is good news about my hotel site. I don't want any interruptions Kim, unless someone is dying, am I clear?"
"Yes Miss Powell. Everything will be taken care of."
"So Romeo is whisking you off on a holiday?" Natasha enquired.
"Yes Tash, I do need a break from work after all."
"Just make sure you have everything you will need, if you know what I mean. It is going to be just the two of you, with Mother Nature at your disposal."
"Get your mind out of the gutter Tash, we are not yet at that stage of our relationship. Plus you know my rule, no ring, no dingy. And if you must know Ethan is coming along so no funny business."
"You are such a buzzkill, anyway enjoy your trip. Just inform me when you arrive, I need to know you are safe."
"I will sweety. I have to go now. Please help sort out this fiasco with Raymond industries."

"Benjamin I won't be around for a few weeks, hold down the fort while I'm away."
"Boy are you whipped. You have never taken a girl out to that house. This lady is one special woman."
"She is, I might just tell her how I feel about her. I need you to set up a meeting with Miss Powell as soon as I get back. What type of person negotiates transactions through her PA?"
"She probably has the same reasons as you. You know how the press is. Plus I like her, she has a certain mystery about her, very few people really know what she looks like."
"Hhmm, just set up a meeting we need to meet face to face."
"Will do just give me a heads-up when you are coming back."
"Thank you Benjamin, I don't know what I would do without you."
