Chapter 7.1

"Good morning Kim, I need you to find out from Raymond Industries when to expect the delivery of our merchandise immediately, I understand they had a minor setback. Tell Simmons to meet me in my office with the designs he has for the Xander building. That will be all for now," she told her assistant as she entered the elevator. Walking into her office she saw a vase with a single rose, and immediately knew who it was from as a smile formed on her face.

"Ethan tell me if you need anything, alright?"

"Okay mama," he said as he settled in his play area watching his favourite cartoons on her iPad with headphones on.

Picking up her phone she called Michael.

"Good morning Mikey."

"Good morning querida, how are you this lovely morning?"

"Well my morning just became better when I saw your lovely gift. Thank you. How are you feeling this morning?"

"You are welcome. I am doing pretty well, just a little pain here and there."

"Oh okay. You will be fine, you are a big boy after all," she said as Simmons walked in. "Listen baby I have to go now. I have a long day at work."

"I understand baby. Have a wonderful day. This big boy has got to work too. Give my greetings to Ethan."

"Will do so. Bye Mickey," she chuckled.

"Good job Simmons, I trust that the meeting was the last time I saw you presenting garbage in front of me."

"Yes mam, it won't happen again."

"Good, warm you team that I am coming down there, I need to have a look at our hotel designs and do some touch ups."

"Very well Miss Powell," he said as he gathered the blueprints and left her office.

"Any important calls, direct them to the designing floor. Personal calls, straight to my private line," she told her assistant putting on her Bluetooth earpiece.

"Yes Miss Powell."

Taking Ethan with her they went into her designing office and she handed him some crayons and paper to create his own masterpiece.

As she was sketching some designs down Kim called her.

"Raymond industries said that the shipment of the granite stone will arrive this week. But the timber is being held back in customs. They are still sorting out the issue and will get back to us."

"They better sort it out fast, we have to start working on those buildings in two and a half months?? time," she mumbled to herself. "I need you to head over to our hotel building site, see if the construction crew has arrived to start clearing the site for construction."

"Right away mam."

Her phone rang and on answering it she heard, "Querida, are you free for lunch?"

"Mmmm, not today. I am very busy at the office."

"I really miss you."

"I miss you too Mikey. Is your hand still painful?"

"Mmmm a little, but I know of a perfect remedy."

"Oh really, please tell me of this remedy of yours."

"Well a little birdy told me, that you could kiss the pain away."

Bursting into a fit of giggles she said, "Really? Now does this little bird have a name?"

"Oh that's a secret now. If I told you I would have to kill you."

"Oh my gosh and here I thought you would never harm a fly," she said feigning shock.

As they continued their conversation the designing team were busy gossiping, surprised at hearing their boss actually laughing. She only laughed with Ethan but never on her phone. This was going to be the topic of discussion for most of them.
