Chapter 11 Eleven
Chapter 11 Eleven
THIRD PERSON POV
Her eyes slowly drifted from the umbrella down to the hand of the person holding it, and to his face. She realized it was a stranger, but she was a little disappointed because she was hoping that it would be Kyrian who was just kidding. Still, she was thankful that someone was kind enough to do this for her, even though she couldn't really make out his face.
“You’ll catch a cold if you keep staying here.” The man said calmly.
Lily felt a little embarrassed about it, but she was in no mood to keep staying in that situation. She then rose to her feet.
“Uhm… thank you. I'll take a cab that'll take me back home.”
“I don't think you'll find a cab right now, especially around here. The road was almost empty when I was driving towards here.”
Lily looked around and ahead, and she didn't see any cab coming. Even shops or stores that she could have preferred to stay in, had all closed. Right inside of her, she regretted that she even bothered to heed to Kyrian’s call.
“I could drop you off at any place you might see a cab to take you home. Besides, my girlfriend is also in the car, so you’re safe.” He offered.
Lily was still a little uncomfortable with that, but at this point, she had no choice. She nodded and followed him into his car.
“Hi.” The lady greeted with a smile.
She was holding a baby, so that was probably the reason she sat at the back. So, Lily sat at the front.
“I know it's not my place, but you shouldn’t be with someone who stands you up under the rain.”
The man suddenly spoke, and she looked in his direction.
“He is not my man. I…” she paused a little. “I just thought he had something to say.”
The man didn’t say a word further, and it made everything even more awkward, but she just tried to take her mind off it.
Fortunately, she could already sense they were trustworthy, so they drove her home. When they finally got to her house, she thanked him before leaving his car, before stepping out.
“You're welcome, miss.”
Without another word, Lily closed the door and walked towards her house. She could feel the rain still lightly falling on her shoulders as she searched for her keys which she had dropped back into her bag. After unlocking the door, she stepped inside and shut it behind her.
The quiet of the house greeted her immediately.
For a moment, she leaned her back against the door and closed her eyes.
“What a day.” She said softly under her breath.
Lily sighed and walked slowly towards her bedroom. Her clothes were still damp from the rain, and her hair clung slightly to her neck.
The first thing she did was head straight to the bathroom, turned on the shower and stepped under the warm water. The heat relaxed her tense muscles almost instantly. Water ran down her face, washing away the mixture of rain and tears that had dried on her skin.
Lily closed her eyes under the stream, and her thoughts drifted back to the park.
Kyrian’s message still hurt badly. It had been so cold, and careless like he wasn’t talking to a human with feelings. She shook her head slightly, trying to push the memory away.
“No more thinking about him,” she murmured softly.
After finishing her shower, she changed into a loose nightshirt and crawled into bed. Her body felt heavy with fatigue. Within minutes, she slept off.

The next morning, Lily woke up feeling slightly better. She got ready quickly and left for work.
When she arrived at Marksonic Solutions, the office was already buzzing with activity. Employees moved around with files and laptops, while quiet conversations filled the hallway.
Lily sat at her desk and began organizing the tasks for the day. Everything went smoothly for the first few hours, until her phone buzzed.
She glanced at it absentmindedly, discovering it was a text message from an unknown number.
Her brows furrowed slightly as she opened it.
“You came,” she said.
Lily sat down across from her. “Say what you have to say.”
Tracy leaned back in her chair calmly.
“I’ll make this simple,” she began. “Stay completely away from Kyrian.”
Lily’s face remained expressionless.
“I’m back with him now,” Tracy continued smoothly. “There’s no place for you in his life anymore.”
Lily let out a quiet breath.
“Is that all?”
Tracy smirked slightly. “Oh, there’s more. I know Kyrian wanted to meet you yesterday.”
Lily’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“And you changed his mind, right?” she said calmly.
For a brief moment, Tracy’s smile faltered. “Don’t act innocent.”
Lily then stood up from her seat.
“I’m done with this conversation,” she said firmly. “I’m not interested in this nonsense.”
Without waiting for a response, she turned and walked out of the restaurant. The moment she stepped outside; her phone buzzed again. She pulled it out and looked at the screen.
It was a message from the hospital. Her heart skipped slightly as she opened it.
“Your attention is needed urgently. It's concerning your father.”
