Chapter 474

Chapter 474

"It's necessary!" Seraphina suddenly raised her voice. "I'm giving you one last chance. Either be with me, or we go our separate ways from now on and have nothing to do with each other."

Shawn was stunned by her sudden outburst. "I, I, I..."

He looked at her helplessly, "Seraphina, don't be like this, you're just..."

"Shut up." Seraphina took a deep breath, as if she'd suddenly become a different person. She stared straight at Shawn, instantly releasing the powerful aura of a single-eyelid supermodel. "Now it's my turn to talk."

The apartment became completely quiet, so still that it felt like even the smallest sound would stand out.

Amelia held her breath. She felt like she had walked into a moment she didn't belong in, yet she couldn't bring herself to move away. Her feet stayed rooted to the spot.

Seraphina's voice gradually calmed down. "Shawn, I might have feelings for you. When you're with someone else, I feel really sad..."

Halfway through, she started stumbling over her words.

Amelia felt her face heat up just listening. She almost felt embarrased on Seraphina's behalf.
Amelia had never seen Seraphina be this direct before. You could tell how tense she was.

Shawn blinked, looking momentarily stunned. For a brief second, a flicker of satisfaction passed through his eyes before his expression settled again.

He turned his gaze toward Amelia, as if silently asking whether what he had just heard was real or not.

Amelia avoided his searching gaze and looked down at her feet, not wanting to make Seraphina more embarrassed.

"I'm only giving you this one chance, and giving myself one... chance too." Seraphina took a breath and looked at him quietly. All the courage of her life exploded in this moment. "I respect your choice."

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

Shawn stood frozen like a statue.

Amelia was frustrated, glaring at him to not be ungrateful.

Only then did Shawn scratch his head. "Okay, okay then, so, should we stay and eat together?"

What kind of response was that?

Amelia was so stunned, she almost lost her balance.
Shawn had always been confident and straightforward, so seeing him act awkward and shy now felt completely out of character. It didn't match the image she had of him at all.

Trying not to draw attention, Amelia quietly picked up her bag and tiptoed toward the door.

It was obvious the two of them had completely forgotten she was even there. Staying any longer only made her feel like an outsider or a third wheel, so she decided it was better to leave.

Before closing the door, she took one last look at them. Shawn's face had regained color, looking like a groom, while Seraphina kept her head down, her profile slightly flushed.

Amelia gently closed the door, her lips curling up unconsciously.

She took out her phone and called Chris.

"Hello?" Chris's voice came through, with some noisy background sounds.

"Guess what I just witnessed?" Amelia said with a smile. "Seraphina and Shawn made up. The scene was just... I got hit with their lovey-dovey display."

"Tell me later." Chris interrupted her. "I'm downstairs at your place."

Amelia froze, "What?"

"Look down."

Amelia walked to the hallway window and looked down.

In the parking lot in front of the apartment building, Chris was leaning against his black Bentley, looking up at her with his phone to his ear.

Even from six floors away, she could feel the smile in his eyes.

"How did you..."

"Came to pick you up and take you home." Chris's voice was gentle but firm. "Owen and Olivia just fell asleep. We have three hours alone. What do you want to eat?"

Amelia's heart suddenly melted.

Without wasting time, she turned and hurried toward the elevator, keeping her phone close to her ear as she moved. "Anything's fine."

Chris chuckled softly. "Okay."

After hanging up, Amelia touched her burning cheeks.

Could today be when Cupid descended? Otherwise, why would she also be feeling the sweetness of love she hadn't felt in so long?

...

At the end of June, Estella and Malcolm took on a short series called Love Like Fire. It was a sweet drama that also included a female growth storyline, adapted from a famous web novel with a huge fan base. Amelia took this project very seriously and personally followed it.

At this very moment.

Amelia stood behind the camera, watching the two actors perform. Her brows slowly tightened as she observed their acting, clearly not satisfied with what she was seeing.
"Stop." She raised her hand, her voice not loud but full of undeniable authority.

Estella, who was in the middle of performing, immediately stopped and turned to look at her boss and mentor, a flash of nervousness in her eyes.

Other crew members on set also froze instantly, all looking at Amelia.

"Estella, you're playing a woman betrayed by a scumbag, not a docile little lamb."

Amelia walked closer to Estella and pointed at the character description in the script. "Where's your anger? Where's your breakdown? This isn't about getting the wrong delivery order. This is betrayal by the person you loved most."
Estella scratched her head with an awkward smile: "Ms. Tudor, I was afraid being too emotional would seem over the top..."

"Over the top?" Amelia looked at her helplessly. "The audience isn't paying to see restraint. They want to see real emotional explosions. Think about it. If someone you trusted completely betrayed you, how could you stay calm? You'd probably want to strangle the person."

Let's do it again. This time I want to see anger that makes you grind your teeth, hatred that makes you want to kill them."

She turned and walked toward the camera, catching a glimpse of Hatty hurrying over with a phone in her hand, looking unusually serious.

"Ms. Tudor." Hatty lowered her voice. "There's trouble."

Amelia raised an eyebrow and took the phone.

A live press conference was playing on the screen.

In the livestream, Sandra wore a red haute couture dress, her red lips like fire, holding the arm of a middle-aged man with a dazzling smile.

Louis?

What were they up to?

"Thank you to all our media friends for coming." Sandra's voice came through the speaker. "Today I have two pieces of good news to announce. First, our company has officially signed two new generation actors, Belinda Campbell and Clinton Guzman. They're both excellent young actors, and we hope they'll bring everyone great work and be well received."

The corner of Amelia's mouth twitched almost imperceptibly.

Belinda and Clinton were rising stars in the recent short drama market, and she had planned to approach them next month.

She had just put out feelers, and Sandra had already snatched them up.

That woman worked fast.

"The second piece of news might be even more surprising." A flash of joy crossed Sandra's eyes. "I'm honored to announce that I will be engaged to this elegant gentleman beside me, Mr. Murphy."

The camera turned to Louis beside her. Louis was in his early forties, in a suit and tie, with sharpness and composure hidden in his eyes.

He took the microphone: "Sandra is the most talented woman I've ever met. Winning her favor is my honor."

Such a standard announcement, like a product launch.

Amelia's pupils contracted.

Louis? He was over forty, and Sandra was only in her early twenties! He was old enough to be her father - how could they be together?

Not only was Amelia shocked, but the reporters in the livestream were also stunned. After all, Galaxy Entertainment had been plagued by negative news recently, and this union could very well become a turning point for the company.

Sandra lifted her chin proudly: "The engagement party will be held in a week, and I'll invite friends from the entire entertainment industry to witness it together."

She paused, her gaze seeming to penetrate the screen and look directly at Amelia. "I hope everyone can come and support us. I would be deeply honored."
