Chapter 102 Frank Was Sent To Prison

Chapter 102 Frank Was Sent To Prison
NADIA

Where am I?

The last thing I remember was begging Dean to spare Frank's life.

Did he kill him?

I hope not, because the last thing I want in this life is to see my love behind bars, especially since the baby inside my womb needs its father by its side.

Oh my god, the baby!

I immediately opened my eyes, which sent a pain alert to my brain due to the sudden movement, but I didn't let it faze me; I blinked several times to adjust to the bright environment.

Nadia? - called the man who completes me.

Dean. - I murmured, watching him.

He was visibly tired, with dark circles under his eyes, messy hair, and a wrinkled suit, but none of that diminished his natural beauty.

"How are you feeling?" He looked at me worriedly.

"Well, I think so." I looked at him anxiously.

"And the baby?"

Dean stared at me in silence, before sighing and saying:

He's fine.

"What a relief," I murmured, releasing all the air I hadn't even realized I was holding.

"Yes," Dean smiled.

"The doctors said it was a miracle, because you were bleeding heavily, and if the ambulance hadn't arrived at that moment, you would have had a miscarriage."

"Oh my God," I said, clutching my stomach.

"I don't even want to think about it."

"There's no need to think, the danger has passed," Dean said, placing his hand on mine.

"Our baby is alive and healthy, thanks to his strong mother."

"And to my father as well," I added.

He smiled and then yawned.

"Are you sleepy?" I asked.

A little. - He smiled awkwardly.

"Then lie down here with me." I patted the spot beside me on the bed.

"It's better not to," Dean said worriedly.

"I don't want to hurt you."

"Don't be silly, lie down here with me," I insisted.

"Please."

He looked at me hesitantly, but eventually gave in.

Okay. - He smiled and I turned to the side so he could lie down behind me.

We cuddled together, where I could feel all the warmth of his body.

"Am I squeezing you too tight?" Dean asked, hugging me from behind.

"No," I murmured, smiling.

"It's perfect as it is."

He rested his hand on my stomach and began to caress it gently.

"I love you guys," Dean murmured close to my ear.

I smiled, touched that he was referring to the baby and me as well.

"We love you too," I replied, placing my hand on his.

And so we fell asleep together, me with a silly smile on my lips, him with his arms around me, and our baby surrounded by the warmth of his parents who love him more than life itself.

TWO MONTHS LATER......

I sentence the defendant Frank Foster to fifteen years in prison, without bail, for the act of kidnapping followed by attempted murder against the victim Nadia Thompson.

And so the judge concluded by banging his gavel, causing all the tension I had been feeling to disappear.

Frank was finally convicted of his crimes, and two weeks ago Alice was also sentenced to the same punishment for the same crimes.

"Finally, that bastard will get what he deserves," Dean said, leaving the courtroom hand in hand with me.

"Yes, he will." I smiled.

"And all thanks to his fantastic lawyers."

"They were just doing their job; after all, they were very well paid for it," Dean said after we got into his Lamborghini.

"You could pretend they did it for justice, not for the money you gave them," I said as he drove through the streets of New York.

"That would be a lie," Dean said.

"But that would be a good lie," I retorted.

Dean sighed.

"You need to get used to my money, Nadia, after all, it will be yours too," he said, stopping at a traffic light.

"I know." I rolled my eyes.

"But that doesn't mean I'm going to go around showing off."

"I don't go around showing off," he said sullenly.

"No, imagine," I said sarcastically.

"Just yesterday you spent an absurd amount on Swiss chocolate, like ten thousand."

"But you wanted it," Dean explained.

"And I don't want my son to be born looking like a chocolate bar."

You're hopeless. - I laughed.

"Of course I do." Dean smiled, placing his hand on my bare thigh.

"For you, I'm good at anything."

I sighed as I felt his warm touch, but quickly shook my head, banishing the unwanted desires.

"You can stop right there, Mr. Shameless, you know we're late for my appointment," I said, removing his hand from between my thighs.

"Bad woman." Dean tried to be serious, but couldn't back and smiled.

"I'll reward you at home," I said, biting his ear.

He shivered and smiled.

That's great.

(...)

I'm lying on the table, with Dean beside me holding my hand, while we watch our baby on the screen.

We are doing an ultrasound.

"Do you want to know the baby's gender?" the doctor asked, smiling.

Yes. - We said in unison.

The doctor smiled at our excitement and pointed to a small bump below the baby's tummy.

Do you see this little dot here?

We nodded in confirmation. - That's the baby's penis, congratulations, you're having a boy.

Dean and I looked at each other and smiled like fools.

"I see you enjoyed it," the doctor said, noticing our joy.

"Would you like to hear his little heartbeat too?"

"Yes," we said in unison again, and then laughed, because we were truly happy.

Dean and I looked at the screen anxiously when we heard the first beat of our son's little heart, which was soon followed by other rapid heartbeats.

"Listen, Dean, it's our baby's little heartbeat," I said, feeling my eyes welling up with tears.

"I'm listening, my angel," Dean said, letting a tear roll down his face.

We continued listening to our son's heartbeat, while we smiled from ear to ear, along with the tears of joy that flowed without ceasing.

(...)

"Don't you dare peek," Dean said, covering my eyes with his hand.

"I'm not going.to," I said, smiling.

Dean insisted he had a surprise for me, and made me ride in his car for an hour, during which I was blindfolded with his tie and had no idea where we were going.

"Take two steps forward," Dean said, still covering my eyes.

I don't know why, since I'm wearing your tie, it must be because you're afraid I might actually take a peek.

"And now?" I asked, feeling the grass tickle the instep of my foot.

"Now take a deep breath, I'll take off my tie," he said, his voice filled with anxiety.

\-Okay. - I said, taking a deep breath.

After I took a second deep breath, he removed the tie from my eyes, and...

"Wow," I murmured, enchanted by the mansion before us.

It was beautiful, so much so that I sighed in fascination as I observed every detail such as the enormous balcony with a lovely white swing, which made the house fit for raising a family.

"Did you like it?" Dean asked, smiling.

"Yes, it's beautiful," I replied.

"But where's the surprise?"

He looked at me for several long seconds before taking my hand and answering.

Right before your eyes.

He looked at the house. - It's ours, my angel.

My eyes widened in disbelief.

Our house? - I felt my heart race.

"Yes," Dear confirmed.

"It will be the home where we raise our son, and where we will live happily ever after."

I looked at him, thrilled by the revelation, and threw myself into his arms.

"I love you, you know?" I said, inhaling his perfume.

"I know," Dean said, stroking my hair.

"I love you too."

We stayed embraced for several minutes, when Dean pulled away from me and knelt in front of me.

"Hi son," he said, gently stroking my rounded belly.

"Daddy was so happy when he found out you existed."

I looked at him, overcome with emotion.

"Especially because you are the fruit of the love between your mom and me." He placed a kiss on my belly.

"Never forget that we love you more than anything in this world, and that you are our true treasure."

I wiped away the tear that had rolled down my face and pulled my fiancé to stand before me, and when he did, I kissed him passionately.

"I'm counting down the days until I'm officially yours," I said, referring to our wedding day, which was approaching.

"Me too, my love," he said, giving me a quick kiss.

"I can't wait to give you my last name, just like I gave you my body, my love, and my soul."

"Do I own all of this?" I asked, looking him up and down.

That and much more. - He smiled and we kissed again as if there were no tomorrow.
