Chapter 0064:The Battleline Has Been Drawn.
The whole day Kelvin's mind wasn't at rest, he was distracted with the thoughts of Diana and her secret affair with this mysterious man, that he's been waiting for his secretary to be back to know about his identity had him in chokehold since he left this morning.
He knew that Diana wasn't a fool. He knew that by now that she could have figured out that something was wrong, and tonight he's going to give her a chance to explain, rather than allowing his anger to ruin things between them again.
Yet the thought of it all being true, made him so mad that he had left so early because if he had stayed long, waiting for her to wake up things won't be good for the both of them this morning.
He was all but surprised that he had such control over his anger, even after seeing everything with his two eyes. Maybe it has to do with the fact that he himself isn't all that innocent. After all, Liliana is pregnant with his baby and that was another problem that he didn't know how to resolve just yet.
Yet, he isn't ready to let Diana know about it, he only prayed that Liliana hasn't gone to tell his mother, because she's a blabbermouth who can't keep a secret.
After walking out of the conference hall where the meeting ended abruptly, because he couldn't concentrate fully, knowing quite well that Diana might be in bed with that man.
He entered inside his office and brought out his phone to call his secretary, only for the door to open at that moment and he entered inside holding a file.
“What took you so long, you idiot!” Kelvin shouted at him, as he didn't waste any time advancing over to where he stood and took the brown file from him.
“I'm sorry sir, I was held up in traffic.” Dave tried apologizing, but knowing fully well the kind of person his boss was, he knew that he wouldn't take his apology, since he's so hell bent on finding out who was sleeping with his wife.
“Did you find out what i told you to search for?” Kelvin asked him, even as he tore the lid of the file impatiently and pictures came falling out of the file.
“About that sir…”His secretary said, not feeling confident in what he was about to say, because he didn't entirely find out any given information that his wife is cheating with the famous Xavier Kings, who has a scandal going on with his ex-girlfriend, Maryanne.
There had to be a mistake and it was coming from Xaviers side, but he didn't say anything or behave anyhow for him to notice that he's blaming him for being so faster than his shadow in accusing his beautiful wife for adultery.
“What's this?” Xavier asked, picking up two pictures of two different men. He wasn't able to recognize any of them, because that day he wasn't able to see the face of the man that's trying to ruin his marriage.
“His name is Xavier Kings, he's a celebrity. A writer,” Dave explained, taking the photo of Xavier up for him to see. “The other man is his secretary, Jake. There's nothing much i could find, because apparently Xaviers house is a no go area at the moment.”
Kelvin looked at him as if he had grown two heads, as if he didn't understand what he just explained right here. But it's because he didn't understand who between the two men was sleeping with his wife.
They both had jet black hair, and he couldn't be able to describe the other from the other person. Everything was so fucked up, this wasn't what he expected him to find out.
“Is that all you could find?” Kelvin asked, dissatisfied with his report. It wasn't helping his situation not at all.
“Maybe if you could give me time, I could investigate further to know when she will actually meet them again, but i must tell you, Sir, the madam is at her place of work right now.”Dave told him, trying to help him calm down.
But he flared up at his last statement, because he misunderstood everything. “What?” He looked at him with annoyance. “Are you trying to tell me that what i saw wasn't real? You are defending my wife, Dave? Do you possibly have a crush on her too?”
“N…no, of course not boss, i'm just trying to help the situation.” Dave said honestly. He didn't mean any harm and would never do anything that will hurt his boss, nor his kind and beautiful wife. Who would even want to hurt such a lovely soul like her?
Except her husband, who was accusing her of cheating, when he's a full term player.
“Well, all you need to do is to bring concrete evidence to me, and not advise me on what to do with my wife,get out!” He yelled at him.
Everyone loves his wife, well why won't they?
She's beautiful, and he knew that, that’s why he was always fighting himself from killing any man that turns around to look at her the second time, anytime they go out.
Now, his secretary too was smitten over her. While there's a celebrity and his secretary, who he didn't know between the two, who was trying to steal his wife away from him.
“I'm sorry sir, I meant no harm…” Dave apologized, Kelvin sighed already having a headache at what was happening. He has expected more , so that when he goes back home, Diana won't have any reason to lie to him.
But as the stupid and insensitive husband that he was, he couldn't use his sense to realize that Xavier was a writer, and his wife is working in a publishing company. There has to be something that brought them together about work.
But no! His jealousy didn't allow him to think of any of that, just as Dave was about to leave the door of his office was pushed open, and his mother briskly walked in breathing heavily as if he was being pushed.
“Mom, what are you doing here?” He asked, surprised. She didn't say anything about coming over to see him, it was the other way around because she's the one who's been calling for him to come over.
That was when his eyes scanned her from head to toe, her clothes were wet. “Mom, what's wrong with your clothes? They are wet. Did it rain outside?”
Marianna scoffed at his fake concern, she sure found it funny that he was so concerned about her, yet he was still living with that wench that has drawn the battle line between them.
“How about you call your wife and thank her for bathing me right inside your house with cold water?” She snapped at him.
“What? Diana, did what?” Kelvin didn't believe her words, of course why would he?
He sees the girl as an angel that could barely hurt a fly, but in reality she's nothing but the devil. A pretentious bitch!
“I told you to leave that girl, Kelvin. Until when will you continue to be fooled by her, until when?!” She shouted.
Kelvin realized that his mother wasn’t lying, Diana had really poured water on her but he knew that his mother wasn't all that innocent. She has done something for her to act that way.
“Mother, come have a seat. I will tell my secretary to get you fresh dry clothes.” He said, coming closer to take her hand, but she knocked his hands off.
“Forget about the clothes and your fake concerns, you will always side with that evil wench.”
“Mother, just calm down…” Kelvin tried calming her down. He's already having a headache and now she's adding to it. Why can't she just leave Diana alone?
It was just her that didn't like her, his sister has no problems with his wife.
“Don't call me or step foot in my house until you have divorced that wench!” Marianna said as a matter of fact she was serious about what she had said, before she started to leave.
“Mom.” Kelvin called after her, but she didn't stop. Why is it so difficult for her to accept Diana?
