20: Flowers

I was hugging Jacob when I woke up the next morning. It was only six o'clock when I got up to wash and brush my teeth, but I went back to bed because I wanted to hug my husband.

He hugged me back. It looks like he's awake, because he's rubbing my back.

"Good morning," I greeted him.

"Morning..." His bedroom voice is so sexy.

"I'm going in early today," he said. "Let's have breakfast first."

"Okay." We're just going to eat breakfast together today, so I'll give it a go, even though I would have eaten later at twelve.

We got up together and left the room. Jacob and I were even more surprised when we saw Cora come out of Jacob's room.

"Cora!"

"Oh!" It will sweep towards us.

"Why did you sleep in Jacob's room?"

"Huh?" He looked at the door he came from.

He blinked. "I was very drunk, I didn't know. I thought it was a guest room. The shower in my room was broken so I looked for another bathroom to take a shower."

I just nodded. "Jacob wasn't there, so I didn't realize that the room was his. Sorry."

"It's fine. Let's go eat. We're going in early today. Aren't you going to work?"

"Later, around noon. But I'll be home later after eating. I'm hungry."

It had already gone down. Jacob watched him earnestly.

"Sorry for my friend."

"It's okay," he replied before we followed downstairs. Jason was quiet while we ate. Cora said a lot, she started ranting again.

"By the way, Jacob. Do you have single friends or relatives? Could you introduce Cora to them?"

Cora laughed while Jacob didn't seem to hear me.

"Jacob..."

"They're all taken. But-"

"It's okay even if taken, as long as you're not married yet," Cora answered playfully. He laughed again before deftly biting the whole hotdog that he pierced with a fork.

"Don't," I said. What's wrong with my friend? I just want him to be well so that his mother won't be a problem for him.

After eating, the three of us went up again. Jacob just took some clothes from his room, then he went straight to my room to take a shower there.

"Why?"

"I think Cora is going to use the bathroom."

Is that so? Cora can be here in my room. Just let him be. He looks like he's still drunk and not in the right mood.

I took a shower first, I just took a quick bath in the sun. Shampoo then soap the whole body then rinse immediately.

While Jacob was taking a shower, I got dressed and put on make up. We just went down together.

"I'll drop you off," he said as he exited the bathroom.

"Are you sure? Aren't you going to be late for work?"

"It's okay to be late. Don't you want to?"

"Of course, I would. Thanks, hubby."

He just smiled and started to get dressed.

"What time are you coming home later?"

"Maybe I can leave the company at seven, why?"

"Ah, I'll go to the gym first before going home later."

He looked expectantly but eventually nodded.

Cora was in the living room when we came down. I thought he left but he's still here.

"I'll just go with Jacob," he said. Because they have the same way.

"Ah, because Jacob will deliver me, eh."

"It's fine, I'll be with you." Jacob's face became serious, he was obviously annoyed with Cora, so I held his hand.

"Let's go, hubby."

He opened the car door for me. And while driving, he glanced at me. Cora in the back looked like she was in a bad mood so I just ignored her. He still has a hangover that's why he's like that, and even though he doesn't have a hangover, he's really moody.

"Bye, hubby. Be careful. Cora, be careful. Don't hurt your Mom's head again."

It just frowned.

"Bye, hubby. See you later." I kissed him on his cheek before I went down. I waited for Jacob's car to get away before I went inside.

"You didn't bring a car?" Awi asked when he saw that there was no car parked in my parking space.

"My husband drove me."

My smile also infected him.

"I'm happy that you and your husband are doing well. So, you're not going to the gym anymore?"

"Of course, go to the gym. I'm still far from my ideal weight. Later, I'll go with you. Alright, let's work first. I have a lot of work." Cora is reprimanded, but it's okay for me to be absent for her, even though my head hurts from her stubbornness.

Because I ate this morning, I didn't eat lunch anymore. I'll eat later tonight, together with my husband. But I still let Awi have lunch in my office while I was working. The papers immediately piled up on my desk.

"Didn't you go on a honeymoon, will your trip out of the country continue?"

Now that he reminds me, I really want to go out of the country with Jacob. It's been a while since my last trip abroad.

"Jacob doesn't say anything, huh. It's embarrassing if I lead the way and I don't know his schedule." He might have meetings again the next few days, so I'm just making the most of the short time we have together.

"Why don't you ask? Piece of advice, it's good if you talk about your plans. You should explore together. Accompany each other in what the other wants to do. That's it."

"I'll try tonight." I'm excited to go home.

It was only three o'clock when I called Manang to order the dish he was going to cook for our dinner.

I also texted Jacob, although I know that he won't read it immediately, because he is very busy at work because his jobs have increased.

After I went to the gym, I just read his text that he would be home late.

I can't do anything if he comes home late. I asked what time I should just wait for him, in case he didn't reply yet. I didn't bother him anymore because he might be really busy, I also don't want to be a clingy wife especially and our relationship is just starting to get better.

I didn't eat when I got home, because I wasn't hungry yet.

I tried to wait for him until twelve midnight, but he still hasn't arrived.

I just slept because I still have work the next morning.

I think it was three o'clock when I heard his car arrive. I was so sleepy that I fell asleep again, so I didn't meet him.

He didn't sleep in my room and when I woke up, he said he had already left, Manang said. I was about to sulk but I saw the flower on the coffee table. It also comes with a note. He apologized because he was busy.

I texted and said it was fine. I also thanked him for the flower he gave.
