The Search is On
"Alpha, may I introduce you to our lead warrior Rebekah," Christoph said as the warriors arrived with them. Violet looked at Rebekah taking in her muscular build and Ash blond hair. She stood at maybe 5'7" and looked like she could take down any opponent. The best way to describe her was solid ferocity with an elegant air.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rebekah." Violet put out a hand and Rebekah took it in her strong hands. "Can you circle up your group and divide up a search party. We must find Lizabeth. It is of utmost importance." Violet instructed, while Eli cleaned her cuts.
"Vi, we should really go back to the house and have you looked at." Eli said softly. Knowing his mate was in full Alpha mode and would never leave her command.
"I am fine I swear," Violet replied to her mate. "Rebekah, if you find anything, please link me as soon as possible."
"Will do Alpha. Connor, you are to take a team of ten and search from here to the southern borders. Trrieann you take a group of ten and go to the north. I will take the rest. Spencer, you go and dispose of the rogues." Rebekah dealt out her orders quickly then nodded at Violet and took off.
"Spencer was it? The rogue's bodies take them to the Anthony Lake boundary and line it with them as an example to all other rogues. If they cross us this is what happens." Violet winced from the pain in her thigh. She was also a little woozy. She leaned against Eli.
Christoph spoke next "Alpha Violet, you protected us well tonight. I feel it is my duty to tell you to go home and heal. You lost a lot of blood, you just didn't realize it. You need to get your cheek and leg looked at. Plus you must rest so you can explain what happened to the pack."
Violet nodded "Thank you, Christoph. I will rest." Violet stood up to walk back when she was picked up bridal style by Eli. "I can walk," Violet said Without much determination behind it.
"Yes, you can Alpha, but I am not letting you go." Eli whispered in her ear. Violet snuggled up against him and didn't put up a fight. She needed her mate right now more than she relized and the closeness was the only thing that was keeping her put together. As they walked past the cabin Violet noticed something. She went completely still. "What's wrong?" Eli asked his body going on high alert. She gently pushed Eli's head toward the doorway.
"He's gone." Violet whispered.
"Maybe Spencer took him out already." Eli said, "Let's not jump to conclusions."
Violet mind linked Spencer, Spencer. Did you take Bacchus out of the cabin already?
No Alpha I was leaving him for last.
"She is either here or has been here since we lost her." Violet said with intensity. "We should go in and look for a trail." Eli put Violet down and they both walked up the steps of the cabin.
"No blood trail. She didn't take him out this way." Eli said quietly. Eli entered first and walked into the living room. He walked to where the blood had pooled on the carpet. Violet walked around it on high alert. She walked past Eli and found drops of blood leading down the hall. She snapped at Eli and pointed down the hallway.
Eli came up to her and they carefully followed the droplets down the hall. They led to the master bedroom. "There is no way out of there except a window." She whispered. Eli nodded and carefully opened the door. It was completely black Eli reached for the light switch and once it was on, Violet gasped. In her bed lay Bacchus, his arms tied to the two top posters of the bed keeping him sitting up. Written above the headboard of the bed Was I will be back, Violet and your pack will die! written in his blood. Violet stood there with unnatural stillness.
"Well, she was here." Violet stated once she regained her composure.
"Are you okay?" Eli asked, rubbing her back. "I can cover him." Violet interruped
"Yes,I am fine, but we are going to need to buy a new bed." She sighed with a hint of a smile on her face. "Here I am thinking this would through you off your game and here you are talking about getting me into your bed." Eli picked her up "Let's get you home Alpha. We need to check on Cora."
Rebekah, when you get a chance, will you inspect the whole cabin. There is a fun message and Bacchus waiting in there.
Yes, Alpha I will take a look and we will make a plan.
The walk back to the pack house was quiet. Violet laid her head on her mate’s shoulder rubbing light circles on his chest. She breathed in his heady scent. Eli looked down at her and kissed the top of her head. “Are you comfortable?”
“As comfortable as I can be. I am just tired. Eli I am sorry I didn’t clue you in on what I was doing I just needed them to believe.” Eli shhed her and laid another kiss on the top of her head.
“We don’t need to talk about this now. We need to be thankful that you and the others are still here.” He tightened his grip around her, being careful of the healing wound in her thigh. He sighed “I love you Violet with my whole being. I know when we get to the pack house Cora will be priority number one. Just tell me what you need and I will be there. Then when all is said and done I am going to wrap you up in my arms and never let you go.” Violet just hummed in agreement and fell asleep safe in his strong arms.
